ESO, I love your channel. Great build! Just started playing the game a week ago.
Holy crap, that looks absolutely incredible! The amount of detail is amazing!!
Hey thanks so much! You guys are the best😊

I thought I recognized the castle from the thumbnail. Kingdom Come is amazing! Really hope they make a sequel.
Hope they make it be in slovakia, not many people know about that country afterall
Pojawi sie sequel :)
It's already been confirmed they're working on it

At the end of the video, with the natural surroundings, I first thought this is a shot of the real castle and yours comes next as a comparison. But than I saw the minis standing in there. Crazy, how real this thing looks. I am absolutely amazed.
Me too!!
And me too!
Same here
Me too. Wow...Amazing works!
I had read this comment and knew what was coming up and it still fooled me at first!
This is just amazing. As a kid growing up in Sázava (Sasau), Czech Republic, I used to cycle to Talmberg ("Talmberk" nowadays) and climb to the ruin of the castle. It never seemed very spectacular to me - there's barely anything left of it, just the lower part of one tower and a few walls, most of which have been incorporated into some people's homes. I had absolutely no idea that the castle may have looked this amazing in the past, and I certainly could never have imagined that in some 15 years, there would be a guy on the other side of the globe who likes it so much that he decides to make a 100% realistic scale model of it.
Anyway, great work!
That is an amazing story! So cool. Thank you for sharing that. I'd love to visit some of the old castles and ruins in the Czech Republic. You're a lucky man! :)
@@RealTerrainHobbies I am! Beautiful places, but I've always taken them for granted. Actually, as a teenager, I used to work as a tour guide at the Sázava (Sasau) Monastery as a summer job...
If you do end up visiting these places, I highly suggest you come to the Sternberg Castle (Český Šternberk). It's a late medieval castle too, but unlike Talmberg, it's perfectly preserved (still inhabited by the Sternberg family btw), so it can give you an idea what Talmberg may have looked like a couple centuries ago. And it's only 20 minutes from Sázava by the local train.
Something that I appreciate in your videos (among the many things) is that it feels so relatable when you make a mistake and react and make the fix or come up with an updated idea. Perfect representation of the creative process. It can be messy but the results can be incredible.
And the "self-sabatage" segment....again very relatable.
Hey thanks for sharing that. I really appreciate this kind of feedback so thank you.🙂
I'm so grateful that we're allowed to watch people like you for free. It's such an honour to see your passion and time being transformed in something like that.
Love the exterior shots. With a little forced persepctive and creative staging you could make it looks full scale!
Yeah, I really need to get better at that. Something to try for the next one! :)
@@RealTerrainHobbies great way would be the depth of field. If you can adjust the dof it would look much more realistic.
Wow, Looks Great!
Thanks Jon!!! :)
This is one cross-over I didn’t expect.
@@VelmiVelkiZrut Same. It is fascinating when two seemingly unrelated RUclips bubbles suddenly meet. But glad it happens, both are great channels with interesting content :)

This is one of my absolute favorites ever. One can never build too many castles. This one is so detailed and beautifully done.
Your work is amazing too.
Not only do you bring joy with your creativity, you bring families together too.
Love 💕 from the states
I'm Czech. Watching this project come together has been so much fun.
Incredible skill on display here!

Those shingles are such a great idea. Laser cutting has been such a wonderful boon to the hobby and I'm really happy it's so widely available from small craft businesses.

Pro tip on the "protractor" (which is a compass): Once you draw a circle of desired radius; without adjusting your compass you can put the needle end on any point of the line of the circle and draw 2 small lines where the lead is crossing your original circle (you don't have to draw full circles here, just some marks). After that place the needle where one of your marks crosses your original circle and draw 2 marks from there (one of these marks will be on your first needle hole). Last step is to do the same from one of your furthest marks from the original one, it will be obvious where you should place your needle end. The radius of a circle is always the same as the sides of a hexagon that fits inside the circle.
For more reference you can search for "constructing hexagon inscribed in a circle" for visual clues.
so cool!!! your video's about this castle made me try the game and im hooked!! love it!!... but, please, how did u extract the castledata out of the game??
@@RichardDenRooyen1973 Check the first video in the series. You might find some answers there
And I would love to collaborate and add buildings to the town down and arround
Damn man, would have killed to grow up with a dad like you instead of the abusive alcoholic I had, you're kids are incredibly lucky and hopefully they appreciate or at least will come to appreciate the awesome Dad they have. It really makes a big difference growing up through life, you should be proud 👍
Sorry... maybe one day nobody will feel that pain.
Часто дети ценят отцов после его смерти.
This whole process was next level! I really enjoyed watching, great work Neil
That heel mark is brutal, but I'm glad both it & you weren't damaged. This project is awesome
I love it. The b-Roll at the end was almost indistinguishable from what drone footage in a documentary of a real life castle would’ve looked like. Damn fine job Sir!
Talmberg Castle was my favorite location in KCD.
On my first few playthroughs I insisted on actually going all night on guard duty.
It was touches like that which made it clear to me KCD was special.
Its stunning! And let me point out one little thing, that is (among lots and lots of other ones) amazing, but maybe not as obvious: that weathered wood color is the best I have ever seen! Its not like weathered wood, it is weathered wood!
haha thanks!!!😊
What an absolutely mental build. You can see every minute of work. I love the candid style. You can see stuff gradually coming together through a lot of effort.
I just want to say that this is by far my favorite series you have ever done. It’s probably top 3 among all the series I’ve ever watched in relation to this hobby. I would love to see you return to it and do interiors and the ground outside! And I hope we get another series like this in the future. Maybe taking some more designs from real life?
Hey thanks for the great feedback! Glad you are appreciating the series style content and I like the suggestion of taking more things out of real life. 🙂
This is great. I'm replaying this game again a week ago.
*_Really fantastic work. I am looking forward to the upgrades in future videos!_*
Best model maker on RUclips? I believe so. This is incredible.
Absolutely motivational! Not just hobby-wise (had I more time, I would definitely go back doing something) but also work-wise and every-wise. Keep up the good work, it's always good to see an idea come to life!
I'm very impressed. I played through that game a couple times and I can say this is a very good replica of that castle. Seeing this video is very inspiring, I feel the urge to be creative myself!
That advertisement section for the coffee was actually really well done. It would work as a stand alone ad.
It's so *UNBELIVABLE* *AMAZING* on how much work you invested into your gorgeous castle!
It's so Great!
Hey!! This looks amazing dude! Thank you for the shout out, was a pleasure working with you!
I found your videos sometime last year. I have really bad anxiety especially when trying to unwind before bed. Finding your videos with your extremely high quality workmanship and edits of your videos along with your calm deeper tone of voice genuinely has helped me out a lot. Thank you for all your effort pls keep the videos coming I enjoy them a lot! It also sparked a new interest for me. I also hope your wife will feel better soon. Much love
I’m honored to be a patreon member. This build has exceeded my expectations (which with your work, is always high.) The level of detail you put into your work is always inspiring. Cheers man.
Heyyy thanks Zane. Appreciate the support on patreon so much. Thanks for the comment my good man and great channel you've got over there. Got yourself a new sub!🙂
I think the best part about Neil's videos is that no matter what the scale is, it's always presented in a way where I can look at it and totally understand how to use the techniques on smaller scale projects. I'm actually pretty excited to try out the wood work and plaster effect on something else!
A truly heroic project! Congratulations on not only completing it, but in doing it wonderfully well.
My only advice for tackling such immense jobs - just do the next thing.
Commiserations with your dear lady, the pain from my own bulging disks responds well to Lyrica. Hoping she finds some relief.
Thanks so much and yeah, very simple but great advice as that is exactly it. I will look into this Lyrica. Glad you've found something that works well for you. All the best!🙂
Wow! What a wonderful project! The outdoor shots make it look so real. I hope this gives your family many years of fun gameplay.
The attention to detail is mind-blowing! Your crafting skills are second to none. Outstanding work, you should be very proud! Would love to know if the KCD devs have seen this masterpiece yet?
I’m a Japanese illustrator. I was deeply impressed with your craftmanship. Your works are very beautiful, amazing, and fantastic.
You are great brother 👋🏻💫👏
My first model was of a Spanish missionary out in California. I was in the 5th grade, won state and had my model put in the towns public library. I have never made another sense. I really like this project. Brought back a bunch of memories.
You’re definitely up there as one of my favourite terrain makers on RUclips, every video is a real treat. Can’t wait to see where this project goes next!
PLEASE come back and make interiors/surrounding town! I’m not into this thing at all but a fan of KCD and this entire thing has blown my MIND
This is amazing! You've gained a new fan in me my friend 👍🏻
Hey thanks so much! Happy to have ya😄
Omg, super sweet build!! What, coffee?? Too perfect, man, too perfect. Neil, u & your wonderful family are awesome ❤
I’m a bit late but this is as amazing as ever your work is always incredible love your videos
One of the most amazing build projects I've seen. Absolutely incredible detail. Great job.
Hey Neil, i shall quote the wise word's of kylo ren, MORE! MORE!!!!!! But seriously, keep making these wonderful video's about the amazing projects you're making, here's an idea, maybe make smaller projects in between big one's, to reset your motivation, ohh and those really bad jokes are just the best, thanks for all the awsome content you've already created, i hope you enjoy your day and i truly hope to see your channel become as big as it deserves to be
Hey thanks so much 😊. I am definitely going to do a smaller project here in the meantime to reset that motivation and cleanse my palette. Thanks for taking the time to write such a great comment. Much appreciated and hope you have a great day as well!
FYI, when making the towers it would be easier to have them in one piece. So for the large tower, 16 inches by 22.5 inches, the small tower, 12.5 inches by 17.5 inches. Also using a gallon paint can works best as a form for the large tower.
i was like, bla bla bla, and then i was like omg can i send u some money?? inb4 euro??
What an amazing and beautiful castle, I saw the video on the stairs, but now seeing it all with the lights, and every detail is tremendous and just wow... Well done !!!!! WOW!
Kingdom come: Deliverance was such an amazing game
And it was so cool to see this place and knowing exactly where things are and how I used to enter the rooms from the stairs and all that
The amount of attention and care this guy puts into his projects is astounding
Your work is absolutely inspiring my guy! I love how honest and open you are about your process! Preaching to a choir since it's all been said before - but you've inspired this hobbyist to tackle some of the projects I've been putting off for some grand finales for my players!
Great guy who always makes great builds. Even the details are amazing. Thank you for posting great production video.
Love your work. There is an easier way to divide a circle into 6 parts. Use the compass to make a circle of any size. Now, without changing the compass setting, place the needle anywhere on the edge of the circle and use the other end to draw a mark on the edge as well. Move the needle to that mark and repeat this process all around the circle. The result is not perfect, but close enough. Hope this helps.
Oh hell yes. I look forward to what you will do next with the terrain and interiors. May it last more than just one more video. always fun to watch these!
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Love how you fixed up that courtyard.
Incredible beautiful build. There is so much detail in every corner. ❤
I hope the complete template will be on your website, not only the first half.
And best wishes for your wife.
The panning during the time lapse footage is so damn good I could watch a full length film if he made one like this
Neil, I just want to say thank you for making these videos and showing us this process. While I myself doubt my own ability to make something this cool with my own hands, I am so inspired by your work and dedication. Your brief video segment on "self-sabotage" really spoke to me, as that is something I also tend to struggle with, but like you I am striving to do better!
I didn't comment on the last video because I didn't want to sound corny or something, but (at the risk of sounding corny or something) do give my love to your wife and family. I'm sure they know how much we all sincerely appreciate you guys.
looks fantastic. looking forward to seeing you go overboard on the detail.
What a spectacular work from you. With so much attention to Detail. Very very nice. I am really excited.
Phenomenal job! I gotta say, it looks so much more realistic and impressive in the natural daylight shots than in the interior/darker shots. Congrats! Well done!
Wow! Those exterior, outdoors shots were really impressive! For a split second I was totally fooled! Amazing work!
So great! Was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen a post from you show up on my feed. had to come check as I am getting back into crafting again now that I am moved and settled. Amazing job!!!
This look WONDERFUL! Thank you so much for putting this much work into it!
I don't know anything about castles or crafting miniature models but I do know one thing for damn sure, I have never seen anything more impressive than this!
How am I finding out about this only now?! Absolutely beautifully done, as my eyes glide over it, each spot triggers memories! Just wow!
The Camera moving while the timelapse is so absolutely amazing bruhhh
This might be one the coolest thing I saw on YT in the recent years. Finally YT nailed on the recommendations!
So much time and work put into this, and it's totally worth it ! You did an incredible job again. Congrats to you and your wife for tackling this big project ! ✨
I LOOOOVE the fact this creation is full of little flaws, errors, shortcuts and approximations.
This is far more constructive and realistic, imho, to show how a "pro creator" gets his masterpieces done and his craft evolving, rather than polished/perfect videos so smooth you just get depressed, when trying yourself, and facing so many roadbumps.
And the warning about self sabotage is also pure gold!
As a long time creator myself, a lot of people tell me how they are just sabotaging themselves, thinking I'm impervious to those stuff, and just have some "magical infinite amount of motivation and positive attitude".
Hell no. Just learnt with hard work to face and punch through those moments of doubts and downs.
I hope it will spark the right set of mind in people wanting to take those kind of creation journey.
This is an awesome video, for an awesome project, hats down!
so glad you decided to fix the crenulations, excellent upgrade to make it match the excellence of your insane woodwork details!
and oh my god the outdoor shots! I thought it was real at first glance!
Absolutely amazing!!! Man would I love to have a campaign taking, defending or, even better,.... robbing that castle!!!!! Great build!!!!!!!!
Fantastic! I love the shots of it outside.
I laughed out loud with excitement when the drawbridge went up.
Thank you so much for this video. It’s been hard to motivate myself towards another project, but this is just what I needed to keep myself interested.
Beautifully done model, great attention to detail. Worth the effort to square off the battlements, too.
Simply incredible. I'm blown away.
The attention to detail is amazing. Those pieces you refer to as "hoarding", is actually just a covered walkway. Castle hoarding protrudes over the wall to allow defenders to fire down at attackers or drop boiling water or rocks on them. Hoardings are also buttressed against the castle wall itself. The hoarding above the drawbridge should extend out further, and have supports as mentioned previously.
Oh wow!! Especially the footage outside makes it look so real! Great work.
Thanks man, I just finished my work today thanks to you talking about self sabotage. I was watching RUclips and lollygagging but thanks to you I went back to my work.
Absolutely awesome work and seeing those Citadel paints brought back memories for me, of painting Hero Quest and Warhammer models!
Absolutely amazing Work. With the Natural light it is breathtaking!
That's an amazing work, level of details and the effort put into paint job is stunning! I'm glad I've found this channel. All the best!
This is such a fascinating project🤩. I really want to build a castle too. Since I love movement in the model, I will bring my castle to life with movement as well. I can already see the entrance to the castle opening and a figure coming out. And the figures patrolling the top of the battlements... I'm planning the movement technique right now and can't wait to start building☺.
I stopped painting my minis because I loved how they looked sitting on the table partially pained. It just clashes well
RUclips know what is really nice and recommended this. Nice process and result!
I’ve started my own castle… wish me luck. Thanks for all the awesome content but most of all thanks for the inspiration.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching this whole process from the beginning, you have truly outdone yourself it looks fantastic!
Amazingly versatile material scratch, seems like you can build almost anything with it!
Great job! :) I created the concept art for this castle when I worked in Warhorse - it's really exciting to see this come tho life.
Your shingle technique works a treat. You are using a variety of basic techniques, but man on man you do them _so well_!!!
Ahh man.. I remember when I got into Talmberg Castle the first time on 1440p.
so beautiful, soon I will revisit it in 4K !
Incredible project with breathtaking results, congratulations!
Wow! What a wonderful project!
Man, that segment from around 12:00 really hit. I'm a game developer and even if terrain building and game dev are two different things, that feeling of " it's too hard/never gonan finish/this sucks" really plagues most of us. Thanks for the advice, and ofc, props for the superior build and awesome look of that castle 😊
When you brought your castle outside it looks so real!
im just learning about d&d and got into a rabbit hole of minitures and maps, im so freaking intrigued im half way thru this vid and this is by far the coolest thing ive seen yet, i wana see a game played on a custom map, no one has that video yet!!
What an amazing result, enjoyed the production quality too.
it's always awesome to see someone with so much passion and love for detail. great work Man!!!
