BTW just letting you know that while I not been able to buy any mics recently I have been using your links and getting other things in an effort to help out where I can.
I can’t tell you how appreciative of that I am
8 whole dollars??? I dont know man... maybe I'd pay $7 for it, but $8 is just too rich for my blood.
Wonder if they have financing?
Scott’s onto something
Maybe klarna or affirm?
Yeah, that would be great. I am gonna need at least a 12 month plan for this.
@@AudioHotlineif it isn’t 6months 0 interest I’m out.
Didn’t really notice the difference when you switched to it. Only listening on my phone speaker though! 🤣
Definitely won’t hear a difference there lol. I watch a lot with my phone speakers too 🤷♂️
I've seen similar on Amazon. I just bought a Fethead and that definitely works
The price on those has come way down!
Man it it really hard to complain about something that works pretty decently for $8. If someone was on a REALLY tight budget and already had a mic and needed a solution like this... and was willing to accept at the audio coloration issues... It might just resolve their issue and on the low down cheap. The more I go down the audio rabbit hole the more I learn that as long as the sound is decent most of the people watching/listening will not notice or care. And it is so easy to get decent without having to spend a fortune these days. Just saying. Thanks for sharing a possible affordable solution Bark.
Nailed that. Getting results for $8 is fiiiine
Your name came up talking about building a dynamic mic on a recycled body on the other Discord when I saw this video. Wild coincidence man.
Gotta love it
I heard the difference instantly. Sounds like it might have a really low input impedance. Like it's loading the mic element down, and that's dampening the low end. The noises might be cheap capacitors.
Glad I’m not the only one. It was subtle for me but there nonetheless
This company is hilariously awesome. Who knows, maybe this stuff needs to be burned in, and at $8 that probably doesn't happen. Great find!
Hard to argue with a few of "their" devices
heard the difference. Maybe your experiment could be to put good caps in it!
ehhhhh...i dunno if i wanna do all that on an 8 dollar bill
I use this boost my microphone. Samson R21s > Teyun Q-2 > Teyun Q-12.
With solid success I assume?
Yup! From a fully dialed mic volume to around 9/10 o'clock on the Teyun Q12. I still have so much headroom as software volume on MS Teams/Webex hovers around 30-40% as it auto adjusts.
@ersamson please do videotest
Maybe charging up the caps!?
Think so!
Im good with my 39 dollar preamp from manayo a really good cheap preamp
That one is solid
Little Rubbery. Different.
TWSS.
Hahahahah yesssss
8 bucks is way cheaper than 80 bucks lol seems alright as long as it wont crap out on you.. even if it does i mean for 8 bucks if you get a few months out of cool. if you get a few years out of it.. super cool
My thoughts as well
Idk if this will work well in a sm7b build
I think it would, simply for the fact that it would give a little bump to the top end
Is that same as the module thing? But in fancy case
Module?
Wait... Why would it need Phantom Power if it's being used for a dynamic microphone? I'm not understanding. Plus, can it be used *without* Phantom Power? If you use this on a ribbon microphone, the Phantom Power would damage it. So something isn't making sense here.
The Teyun Q-2 requires phantom power, the microphone that you plug into it does not receive phantom power.
Most recent Audio Interfaces won't need this as they will provide enough gain.
Some older/cheaper interfaces may benefit but you are not buying top end pre's for $8 (and nor should you expect them!)
As stated above...it requires phantom power, but the power is used to power the activator, and does not pass to the microphone
@@ObscureMics Thanks! I was a little confused! So basically it's a preamp that uses the console's Phantom power to boost the signal on a dynamic microphone. Got it!
@am74343 yep that’s it!
Noice
lol noise prompts the question “translate to English”
@@ObscureMics it's like nice... but it's noice.
To me, it lost the bottom and mid-bottom end when you plugged in. But hey, 8 bucks... another starving artist/student option.
Exactly
