    My friend's grandfather made the best cornbread i have ever had. I miss it too. When he made it he used a whole stick of butter. It makes a difference in flavor and makes it richer.

    You can also mix the box of brownie mix with melted butter to make a dough and roll it out and cut it and bake it to make crispy deep chocolate cookies

      How much butter, what is oven temperature, bake time? Thanks to you! Must make some asap...

      @kathyracine1903 I believe you replace the oil in the Box recipe with butter sticks maybe in the same amount as the Box directions and then you leave out the eggs and leave out or reduce liquid, form a dough ball, refrigerate for 20 minutes or so, then roll or use cookie scoop and bake 350 for 12 minutes or so.. you can do it with gingerbread mix for spice cookies etc..
      I'm sorry it's been awhile I'm pretty sure you can just look up cake mix cookies on RUclips or Google and you can see how it's done. It's super easy..I was a caterer 20 years ago and used that trick often when I needed quick cookie platters for huge events..always a huge hit

    Looks delish! I normally see you cracking eggs in a separate bowl in case you get a shell in it or the egg is bad. I was caught off guard seeing you cracking the eggs directly in the bowl with the brownie mix. I’m definitely going to have to try that brownie mix from Aldi’s. 😋

      As soon as I did this, I said in my mind …oh no, 😭 that was not good. However, I was lucky and the eggs were good. I have not been able to see my comments lately and when I read yours I agreed. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your support and input! Have a blessed day! 😊

      I'm almost 78 years old. I've been baking for almost 60 years, and in all that time I have encountered exactly one bad egg. Unless you have free range chickens that hide their eggs in various places in your yard, I don't think you need to worry too much about getting a bad egg.

    • @carlap9859
      @carlap9859 3 месяца назад

      @@kathleenstoin671 my thoughts exactly until I was making an Italian Cream cake, which is a lot of work! I had gone to the store that morning and picked up eggs; pecans and buttermilk. I made the batter and cracked in the first egg and mixed it in completely and then cracked in the 2nd egg and it was bad! I ruined the whole batter and had to start all over and I was so upset because buttermilk and pecans aren’t cheap! I had just bought the eggs and checked the expiration date to make sure I didn’t get expired eggs and they weren’t! So it definitely happens and from then on I use the same method Steph uses, I always crack my eggs, one at a time and add them to a different bowl. Yes, it dirties an extra bowl but it’s cheaper than throwing out batter and starting all over from scratch!

    If you put the wet ingredients in bowl and mix before putting in dry ingredients you don't have the dry still left on bottom of bowl

    What is the liner on the shelves? Is that paper?

  • @bethbrec
    @bethbrec 3 месяца назад +2

    Huh. I thought an oven liner was to line the bottom of the oven in case of spills? Wouldn't putting them on the oven racks reduce the air circulation around the baking pan and affect the cooking time? Maybe this is something new I just haven't heard of before. I'll have to research further.

    • @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249
      @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249  3 месяца назад

      You can use them in the bottom or the racks. That don’t impact the air flow in any way or require me to adjust cooking time. Thanks for watching and your comment! I hope you have a blessed day! 😊
