Artists on The First Take usually do some presentation or vocal warm-ups before singing but fearing that people would lose interest on her or not understand who she is, what a vtuber is, prejudice, etc. her manager told her to just "shut them up with your voice" and just start singing, and I love that lol.
I read somewhere that Suisei wanted to do a FIRST TAKE parody and upload it to her channel, but management stopped her and told her that she might actually get there someday. Well, here we are.

Suisei said that Taku Inoue was more nervous than her, because he didn't want to mess things up and threw off the performance, because they only got one take. The acoustic arrangement was STELLAR, props to Taku Inoue & the pianist, Hiroano Nagayama.
This... Props to them to be able to get it and do it so well too... I mean sure they are already professionals but usually the do some test runs before actually performing...
not just that, taku was listening to suisei's twitter space and she was reading his reply tweets live and responding to them. that is how this was brought up

There was an interview with Inotaku after they first collabed on 3:12, where he said that people had asked him "why a vtuber collab?" and his reply was basically "i'm collabing with a great singer, that she is also a vtuber is incidental". First Take really proved that.

Yeah Inotac knows. Especially coming from a musician/composer's perspective - what does it matter what form the singer takes when they've got the murder voice you need.
I love how Suisei, while familiar with The First Take, assumed that she would have three or so goes at it and they weren't so true to their name. She stated on her twitterspaces she got crazy nervous because she learned this only just moments before the take was recorded. She has such strength to shake that off, especially with the pressure of being the first Vtuber that so many people will see due to this exposure.
Can't really blame her. There are many shows out there that fabricate or compromise their content's standard for maximum entertainment purpose. I mean, most of The First Take contents (if not all) are perfectly executed. Of course Suisei think that they will compromise the recording a bit for the best result. But from her statement, it seems The First Take actually stay true to its name and commitment. This only make my respect for The First Take and all of other singers that was featured there significantly increase. They are trully pro singers! And as Sui-chan fan even from when she was just a small VTuber with a big dream, I'm really happy that she could join in and prove that she is also a pro now!

She said it herself as a catchphrase "your diamond in the rough", that means the more pressure she gets, the better she'll become, amazing.
And this one put a LOT of pressure on her, like a lot a lot.
And by being in the rough, she's always looking for improvement. Yes, this was a high pressure situation indeed. 1 take to give a forst impression to millions in the mainstream, both for herself and VTubers.

If Kizuna Ai, was the first vtuber idol that paved the way for the massive vtuber communities that we have today, Hoshimachi Suisei of Hololive 0th GEN, just paved the way for other vtuber MUSIC to be recognized by the WORLD! She is a star.
I think Calli actually did that as she's signed the fing Universal Music, huge accomplishment. But I agree this is a HUGE step for Vtubers in general.

Calli still has a niche audience,Suisei likely hasn't even peak and already going mainstream competiting against the likes of jpop singers and idols far beyond the scope of vtubers.

I'm so proud of how suisei has progressed since she started Vtubing, being the first ever on the FIRST TAKE is an incredible achievement and the way she sang this was so emotionally packed.
She's good in singing, dancing, gaming, marketing. Like. She's the whole business. No doubt. And based on testimonies of other member. She's really good looking irl as well.
I’ve been binging react vids to Suisei’s First Take since it flooded my yt recommended ever since the original vid drop, and I gotta say, I’m glad I’ve stumbled upon your channel. Other react vids were simple and enjoyable to see them discover Suisei and vtubers in general, some are emotional, and I even found one channel blatantly saying it was not genuine since it’s an anime girl singing (so “of course” it’s prerecorded and the vocals are obv enhanced since it’s just a performer with a green screen somewhere that’s not the first take studio), but this is the one channel I found that actually knows what they’re talking about with the technicalities of the performance. I for one just enjoy Suisei’s voice and performance and not in the least bit knowledgeable in the technicalities of music, but I don’t appreciate it when people who make react videos assume the worst of others instantly just because of the idea itself is foreign to them (ie vtubers/idols). I’m subbing to this channel now because I see that you’ve made other videos about Suisei and even Calli, my original oshi. Lol

Ravenclaw’s deep dive reaction videos are pretty much in a class of its own. Hard to even watch other reaction videos. I feel like I gain such a deeper appreciation for whatever is under the lens, and didn’t think that was even possible for Suisei!

It is truly an amazing stellar performance! I actually teared up just due to the raw voice and emotions seeping out of the video. Many of us has or have discovered her past and she truly has work so hard for this past few years to be on the channel where numerous famous artists have sang. I feel like a dad seeing his daughter achieve more and more greatness. Her big dream of performing live in the Tokyo Budokan is just another step closer! May the comet continue to sing to the world!
I have watched a bunch already of that performance, It felt like when she first walked up, That slight exhale had a bit of the pressure/nervousness in it, Rightfully so its a huge achievement not only for Suisei individually but also for Vtubing as a whole and that last breath she lets out felt like it was full of emotion. From where she started, With the IRL audition rejections, Being a indie Vtuber and almost giving up complete to now being the Shining Star that she is for the Vtubing community. It was just absolutely breathtaking, Emotional, Captivating.

I genuinely have tears in my eyes, between knowing Suisei's story, how far she's come, how the nervousness of basically being the first vtuber on The First Take is both so well-hidden, representing literally every vtuber indie and corpo alike, exposing so many new people to the magic of vtubers, and just that I'm witnessing genuine entertainment *history* in the making and that I'm so happy to both be part of this wonderful thing and having gotten in at least close to the bottom floor to see it go all the way to the friggin' top.

12:14 I think there is another meaning to hating the morning though. She is a shooting star/ comet so she can only be seen at night. Similarly to the message in GHOST: One wish Suisei has, is to be seen - or actually she wishes for all vtuber artists to be seen in the mainstream. She wants herself and other vtubers to be taken serious as artists outside of their niche.

Lol she talked about it on stream and said she started writing the song because of how she hates mornings...then she felt like she needed to added to some lines so just threw in whatever she thought sounded nice. Lmao it was the same with her song Allegro. Fans and management were coming up with all sorts of theories about what it meant but she said that she literally just googled "music words" and thought Allegro sounded cool.

There's a few intricate impressive sounding pieces in it that would be cool to have an analysis such as 'Shakunetsu nite Junjou'.

Your reaction was the very next thing I was looking forward to after the First Take announcement. Love the breakdowns. If you're farming for other artists to react to hope you consider Nornis. I think they would be up your alley! One of its members, Inui Toko, has collabed with Suisei before on covers/songs/lives.

Should react to Ayunda Risu’s cover of Mira by Kanaria, I only recommend this because you can hear her voice so much more compared to King where as you thought it was a bit doctored or not doctored but where she was using a voice changer? I forgot words but I thought this would be a great listen for you.
I feel the difference in her vocal control and clarity post-surgery is generally subtle, but noticeable. The sparkle of her diamond, if you will. Especially, to me, those vocal squeezes (that Raven loves to call "the samurai sword through the air") sound so much less painful.
I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts on her performance! Your analysis of the original Stellar Stellar showed me how technically profound the original arrangement was and so I was as excited as I was apprehensive that Stellar Stellar would be the song she's singing in THE FIRST TAKE. I wasn't sure the song would fit, and that her vocals would clash with the music.
Of course, that apprehension was cleared as soon as I realized that Inotaku was the guitarist and thus probably involved in the acoustic arrangement (and he tweeted that he was the one who arranged this version, equally nervous that he would mess up and ruin the take). I first listened to the song in a crowded dining room and didn't like it as much as the original, but at the second listen in a quieter space I appreciated it more.
Even then, I was looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it as the one who sold me on the original arrangement in the first place. I am happy to hear that the acoustic version is also technically complex and maintains the intensity of the original while being quieter. Thanks for the review!
