The “makeup brush” is actually a brush for blending oil paints! It’s great for soft clouds :)

Same thing here. I work in such physical mediums (I'm a metalsmith LOL) that trying to make something abstract just gives me a headache. Like... how do I make something that doesn't exist 😩

i personally really love abstract art as wall decor and to add color to plain backrounds and furniture and shelves but i will never understand how a dot or scribbles that look like ketchup and mustard splattered are able to be sold for millions and be treated like they have some sort of worth even tho they had absolutely little time talent and effort put into them... it's MADNESS

I think the painting came out beautiful! Even tho it took a long time to get right and how your weren’t happy with the texture at the beginning lol. Abstract is one of my favs!
To ke abstract art is really fun when you have art block just random lines eith diffrent colors and random shapes and scribbles can make an hour pass by!
Please do a realism coloring book challenge using 3 random colors you pick blind folded. (White doesn't count of course) I think that would be so fun and challenging!
It's giving marble and I'm here for it.

I just can’t do abstract art. For some reason, it stresses me out. Maybe cause it’s extremely messy and makes me uncomfy. I always want stuff to be perfect and non-Messy. Your painting was amazing. The gold stroke was so well made. 💓✨

You should consider looking up the poured paint abstract painting. It is messy but turns out so vivid and dramatic
I think I miss some black or dark brown in it, don't know why...
Some abstract art looks so interesting, but I find it so difficult to be random or whimsical enough to create it
I like doing abstract occasionally if, like you, I'm making a decorative piece for my home. But what I really like doing for decor is stencil art.
Looking at the final painting, I think I would have used the splatter method and added those on the edge of that gold band and gradually get less the more out you go into the paler areas.....I think that would look good.
