Astra Militarum are miniatures for the Warhammer 40,000 sci-fi skirmish game developed by Games Workshop.

These are such great looking models. Thanks for doing such a thorough job reviewing the kit and putting everything together. Really impressed with how all these kits are designed. I cant wait to get some sentinels, the old ones are a favorite of mine but the new ones look fantastic. Love that there's a good mix of different heads too

Oh my god, the sheer amount of options to individualise you guardsmen is incredible! I love the idea of not having a gunner on a field ordinance carriage with the rocket launcher (cos you know... Backblast is a thing).

Using my three now older smaller sentinels as scouts and going to get three of the new ones to use as armored.
Very informative and some peace of mind seeing less magnets are required than anticipated.
I really like the fact that you can now finally also assemble female Guardsmen (Guardswomen?). Especially for Cadia, not being able to do that never made any sense. Very pumped for these models!
This has really helped to see these up close in grey plastic as I am never sure of my opinion of new GW models in box art colours. Helpful to see them compared with the old versions too!

Cadia Stands! I love the new models and you did a great job of showingthem off, also it's really nice to see them actually adding female heads instead of just implying they're there but only having male heads!

Honestly the best kit GW has released when it comes to being able to swap out weapons for the heavys that Ive seen.
I don't care for guard at all, but looks like GW did a really great job on these kits. Thanks for the video!

Those look great to apply real camos on 'em, US M84 woodland, or SWE M90, even Marpat would be what i would go for for; look great to me.
My guard vehicles are in an urban M90 style camo, works beautifully but much too complicated to do for every guardsman imo

You do a great job of assembling miniatures, I'm always left with a lost tank track or lop-sided head.

I cant wait to get myself this kit! I think I prefer the current sentinals personally but love the troups and new heavier weapons teams! I must own 30 2-man heavy weapon crews now. They are such fun and easy little kits to customise and create mini diaramas from..... Im sure the 3 man teams will be even more fun to mess around with! excellent video and very detailed review.............CADIA STANDS.......SOLD!!

I'm glad to hear they come with female heads too, more customisation options are always good!!! I live in Japan so this set isn't even up for preorder yet, I hope I can get it soon...
I've really been liking GW's new kits. Rather than pushing "buy more kits" for options, it seems more and more they're being designed in mind of magnetization or (in the case of the Sentinel) just super simple swap options. Makes the kits MUCH friendlier for both new and veteran hobbyists so that with one kit you could do some minor changes to the model to suit your list.
Thank you very much for the run-through. On the glue thing: I was using GW's needle-nose poly cement tonight to glue some minis together and left the lid off. It ran down the side of the bottle onto the table. I thought I'd caught it when I moved it to a magazine. I had not. Long story short, the needle-nose applicator isn't perfect. :D

I'm definitely going to magnetize my field guns, and when I use the rocket launcher all I'll ever be thinking is: "Up-and-down... up-and-down-up-and-down-up-and-down..." haha 😆

i bought this whole box for a specific female head and vox caster arm so i can make titans bane but the models look good i love the new shock troops tho i do prefer the old sentinel it looks more rough and ridged like the guard is known for the new one looks to smooth to clean but hey looks fun to make tho
I still cannot understand why we cannot have Krieg upgrade/bits for artillery dudes and command squad.
Did the bases get larger? That sentinel base is def bigger. And it looks like the guardsmen bases might be bigger as well???
The shock troops are 25mm, the command squad is 28mm :)

I preffer the front of the old sentinel and I don't like the horizontal plates of the new ones. It's like their inspiration went from "Star Wars" to Jeep, but with legs.
Hey could you clarify if the sentinel is on a dreadnought sized base still?
The new Sentinel is on an 80mm round base :)

How many female heads are there? Are there enough to kit out all the bodies with female heads? Is there a gender difference in the bodies?
The bodies are basically male but due to the armour and slender hands you can use them just as well for females like I did since none are so bulky they'd look strange with a female head. And yes, there are enough female heads to build them all as women.
Idk feel like the units included is kinda beginning friendly from the points cost seems like will barely be 500 points seems more like a box for a long standing guard player

*sad face* Scale creep in the Guard model range... How long before all the old models are 'illegal' in tournaments? That, and it seems like they are compensating (so to speak) for the scalecreep that hit the Space Marines recently... Still, it's awesome to see the Guard get some new sculpts, and GW finally figure out that the easiest way to incorporate women into the model range for the Guard was siimply to change offer the appropriate heads. After all, being a veteran, I can tell you it's about that simple; we all had the same gear.
Would def use magnets with that kit.
I want it I just can't function without certain chems in my system so I can't afford it. Not even chasing a high just helps me function.
I’m pretty sure the rules for shock troops are that you can take two special weapons but they can’t be the same ones.
I checked multiple times during assembly and it says: "Up to 2 Shock Troopers can each have their lasguns replaced with one of the following: 1 flamer; 1 grenade launcher; 1 meltagun; 1 plasma gun.*" and "*You cannot select the same weapon more than twice per unit."
