thank you TEAM APS you realy help me with yugioh cause i am a starter and my favorite video of yours is hero strike vs saga of blue eyes white dragon cause i am playing hero deck and this video is also realy good and teaching players to play with egiptyian god structure deck and anyone who wants to play egyptian god structure deck you guys realy get to know them with this deck so i think this youtube chanel is very good and helpful for duelists.
Make it a MR3 duel, so you get a 1v1v1
Your video is good but i dislike the structure decks a lot because they could have done more like slifer's and obelisk desciple or more diffrent monsters it feels incomplete
As an old school, I’d rather watch this channel duel than watch competitions because they EXPLAIN every move, good channel to pass time💯💯

@@johngonzales2589 Honestly, considering how many cards there are and how complex they are even for seasoned players, I feel like the explanations for each card are actually helpful across the board. There's a lot of times I just don't remember exactly what a card does, and it's nice to never have to stop to look cards up while watching their videos.

This series was genuinely entertaining. This is the kind of dueling I miss. It has gotten so complex now days. Great video!
I like slow, back-and-forth duels. It really is the most fun way to play. Along with that, my friends and I have a rule where you're only allowed 1 copy of each card in your deck unless you have a monster in your extra deck that requires multiple copies (aka blue eyes ultimate in ED allows 3x BEWD's in deck). We also allow 3 copies for cards that special summon themselves (Ra's disciple, nimble momonga, hero kid, etc.)
Its not perfect but it slows the game down and forces you to use cards that you might not ever use in a competitive format.
If you want a slow game try the dragonball super card game
@@krutarthdave1938 What about spell cards like machine duplication, or monster effects that summon multiple copies of something else, like the agent of creation-venus?
@@nerdicusdorkum2923 I think I'm that case you'd be allowed 1 copy of the spell but multiple copies of the target being summoned.
But it depends. We just play to have fun so if there's a broken combo we would probably limit it.

You guys present your duels so well, the camera on the field and on each player, having the life totals below them, special mats for the decks your each using and different color sleeves, and just how clearly u explain all of your moves and the card effects. As someone getting into the game, it helps a lot.
This. Just got back into the game (last time I played, I was 7 and GX had JUST been released) and these guys hands down have the best videos for beginners. It's the explanations of the moves, cards, and their effects that make their videos so great
I haven't kept up with Yu-Gi-Oh ever since they started the pendulum stuff. This duel reminded me right here is why I started playing. That sense that you can turn around a game even when you have the lowest life points. I was on edge for the 2nd round!!
I'm 17, still playing yugioh but i don't like new link and pendulum summons, they are just too hard to counter with some decks, i mainly use Cyber Dragon.
Yea there's nothing quite like getting a comeback victory when you're at 25 life points lmao

Life point and cost are nothing now in ygo. Using 3 time a 1/2 life point cost card can block the other duelist, so no care about LP.
I can just about keep up with pendulum but synchro and xyz confused the heck outta me.

@@kylanstrife these decks aren’t shorted tho. I went down to my locals on two separate days for Obelisk than Slifer, but their supply seemed to be good.

My love for the Egyptian God Cards have changed over the years. As a kid, it was Ra. Then as a teenager it was Slifer. As an adult, it is now Obelisk. They're all incredible honestly, they would make a sick back tattoo!

Damn the obelisk deck felt a lit more balanced all around while slifer felt more of a "if the stars align there is nothing they can do" deck

Paul also tribute ra's disciple for gizmek uka but ra's disciple can only be tribute for the summon of a god card

Actually you can tribute an opponent's monster even if you were to use it on a monster that tributes itself the effect of layer of darkness says when tributing a monster you can use a dark monster your opponent controls even though it targets itself layer of darkness overrides the effect and gives you the option to choose an opponent's monster
@@theshadowking9626 That's incorrect. When paying a cost, you must fulfill the cost exactly as written. If a card has to Tribute *itself* to activate the effect, you must do that, even if Lair of Darkness is applying.

I seriously can not stress enough how much I enjoy watching your videos of you playing with old school decks and some new cards too! Its actually an introspective look on everything that I love about this game. Like most old schoolers, I'm not at all into the pendulum and xyz system this game has came into, but again, having channels like yours its a breath of fresh air. I had recently gotten both of these decks because I saw you guys playing with them even though I only watched about 2-3 minutes of the video. I had no idea what the cards meant and how to summon anything, so coming back to this and watching you guys play and explain everything is very nice and educational. So thank you

As a casual fan that's got some God cards nostalgia, seeing how these 2 decks are tuned against each other really makes me want to pick then up. Flashy and does some cool stuff without going completely ridiculous and still has some comeback factors.

I want to point out a misplay in game 2. With Ra's Disciple on the field, Paul actually isn't allowed to summon Angel 01
If I remember right he can't summon anything except divine beasts. Ra's disciple is a double edged sword that's best used when you have the spell Double Summon in your hand or backrow to protect you for 1 turn to summon the God on next.
Correct. If any one of the Ra's are on the field face up you can't special summon by ANYMEANS other than by Ra's affect. I've caught myself using The Winged Dragon of Ra's second affect to pay 1000lp to get rid of one just so I could special summon.
Nor is Paul able to tribute Ra's Disciple unless it is to summon a Divine Beast
@@Baron_von_wiffinberg actually, that's also incorrect. The Ra's Disciple that was tributed was face down, so the effect doesn't apply
@@Aerodu168 Paul can't tribute Ra Disciple as the text written is can't be used as tribute except for Ra, Obelisk or Slifer and it's not activation type it's permanent type like fusion substitute this card is count as Polymerization. So one deck can only have three copy either its polymerization or fusion substitute

FYI Reactor Slime reads "You can Tribute this card", so you cannot tribute another monster regardless if you have Lair or not to activate its effect

@@leandroluz8091 It's precisely because it tribute 'this card' that it can't tribute another monster. Reactor Slime's effect cost has to tribute itself.
@@leandroluz8091 What @RandomDude said. Lair allows you to tribute your opponent's monsters to pay cost. So if the card specifies "monster(s)" as a whole and not "this monster". Also the same applies if cards say "monsters you control". You can't tribute your opponent's monsters as they aren't your monsters

I'm a oldschool duelist, got those 2 deck and was having trouble understanding some of the effects and conditions of some cards, thanks to this video and the fact that you guys read and explain the effects, I was able to understand it better. Thank you so much!

Your duels are the most entertaining duels for me on RUclips. I just saw one mistake during the second game where Paul tributed Ra's Disciple when its effect says that this monster cannot be tributed for other monster/s than the three gods.
I'm a big Marik fan myself, but Slifer is my favorite Egyptian God

@@jlg31182 Because Ra already got a ton of new support somewhat recently, and didn't need a structure deck of its own. The Slifer and Obelisk decks exist as a way to distribute the new support for those two, but Ra's support was distributed another way awhile back.

This is the way the game was ment to be played, no 50 move combo's, unbreakable board's, loops. It's was anybody's game and easy to follow

I feel like they should make a Slifers disciple and an Obelisks disciple each with effects that would help get the god cards on the field and ensure the opponent can't interrupt it, I think that would be cool

Getting back in to yugioh. I love that you all explain every move. This was a very well done video.
So as someone that bought the Slifer deck on a whim and noticed the trend of a good number of the cards, i noticed Vampire Voivode is a good card to add, as well as multiples of Caligo and ScapeGhost
At 10:14 Alec forgot about lair of darkness effect and should have gotten 3 torment token monsters for 3 tributes also I think Alec should have saved reckless greed for when and if Paul could summon a monster with more attack than Slifer and tried to attack Slifer thinking his monster would win the battle!

Just for anyone wondering: Soul Crossings effect is "Do a tribute summon, but you can tribute enemies monsters too". Being tributed is not an effect. So it never affects any monster on the field so even a monster completely immune to any card effects could still be tributed because of Crossing. Also March only protects against targeted spells, so general spells like Black Hole would still work(Well March also protects against destruction so Black Hole wouldn't, but being tributed is not being destroyed so March would still work). So even if March was an effect, it would still work since it would apply to ALL monsters, so it wouldn't be a targeted effect. So Sly wasn't targeted

It’s only been 2 years, but I’ve improved from small dumb dingus not knowing what the hell he’s doing, to someone who has an idea but refuses to read the cards cause holy hell that’s a lot of text

I love how despite the mistake in Duel 2 with Ra's Disciple (You can't use it as tribute for ANYTHING other than the summon of Slifer, Obelisk, or Ra, and can't special summon ANYTHING outside of the 2 additional Ra's Disciples while one is on your side of the field) that you both kept going with the duel. This was more about the fun of exploring a new deck than getting the strategy absolutely perfect, and since I just got back into Yu-Gi-Oh recently, it's nice to see two duelists just having fun with these things rather than trying to explain or find how broken everything is or how they can immedietly fit into the meta.
Thank you for making this me and my brother were going to get the different structured decks and now I can see what cards it has in it

Tribute summoned monsters cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects you opponents controls....assuming uour reffering to march of the monarchs....the spell essentially makes tribute monsters only killable by battle

Lol I’m shocked you guys played this so quickly! Found these at Walmart yesterday so bought them and my wife and I got to play last night and we only managed to play 1 duel! It took us 3 hours! Was probably the most competitive and fun duel I’ve had though! Really enjoyed these decks.

When Paul special summoned the Angel 01, he still had a Ra's disciple, which does not allow special summoning other than through its own effect.
