This was more or less a “comeback” song for her, making it that much more emotional. She had a rough 2018 and in 2019 actually showed a video from her year including backstage shots of her icing her neck and jaw backstage.
From what I’ve been able to tell she did some damage to her voice and had to have surgery and essentially relearn to sing before releasing this song.
Japanese singers and seiyuu put all the emotions and feelings they can into their songs / dubbing, that why i love japan so much !

Yea if you know what to listen for she is on the verge of crying through about 1/2 to 3/4 of that song. Those sad songs really hit her hardest.

Angel Beats was airing my senior year of high school, and let me tell ya. When all those emotions welled up inside me about moving on from that chapter of life into the next, after having gone on this adventure with everyone? Oh my word I couldn't keep it together lol

@@drnitziei agree with this. to me regardless if its sub or dub that emotion is still there I don't think you lose it with either. i think what makes seem more emotional is when reading the subtitles we sometimes put the voices of people we know over it and i think thats what makes the perception of it having more emotion than like the dub version

I been listening to Lisa since she did music for Angel Beats. It's so cool seeing all the recognition she's getting and I have always been a fan of hers.
She actually just came out with a new song called Another Great Day so that would be my recommendation.
Every time I hear lisa I'm thrilled. Even though I'm no vocal coach/ singer/ rapper, you can name it, I realize that Lisa is very very talented and everything she does is thought through. Although I'm barly understanding a word she says I can feel the emotion and passion coming out of her voice.
This isn't a Lisa suggestion but a suggestion for another Video on the First take channel.
It's the song called "anima" by Reona. In my opinnion she did great on this one. It's one of the opening songs from the show called Sword art online, in case you've already heared about it.
Something interesting about Japanese songs, is they don't typically rhyme.

That maybe because most of our letters is a pair when in english. Example, か is ka and さ is sa. Only vowels and n is one letter

something everyone needs to understand is SONGS DONT NEED TO RHYME.
oh yea and you can make words rhyme with how you pronounce them which can sound much better than just picking words that naturally rhyme. much better much more cleaver and shows talent and hard work on how they carefully picked words that can be used that way.

And ....this is why american singers and american music today is so basic,lacking of substance,lacking of interesting melody and harmony and boring....and I;m american and professional musician for 40 years,but japanese music it's so full of melodies,harmony and musicality...and the fact that this is anime makes it better....just my opinion people,don't get offended ....great video,keep the great work

If you are interested in other Japanese singers, I would recommend Eir Aoi, and Ryokuoushoku Shakai and maybe Anna Takeuchi if you want. In my opinion, they deserve as much fame LiSA receives.
