Heck yeah! Glad you actually listened to this. I was hooked instantly on the original version but there is nothing better than hearing her sing with just a piano or acoustic guitar. Her control is amazing. She is like a vocal gymnast.

Demon Slayer is just the catalyst Lisa needed. She's been an underappreciated gem for so many years now, her vocals really deserved to be appreciated at the level we're now seeing.
She's definitely not underappreciated but okay buddy
I think Crossing Fields did that long before this
As an anime singer, no she hasn't been underappreciated, and yes Crossing Field certainly made her popular, (though Girls Dead Monster also helped) but if you look at her wider success, it wasn't until Demon Slayer that she started exploding in popularity like never before.
First invitation to kohaku, first singer in 13 years to top the singles chart for 3 weeks running and starts winning big industry awards instead of just newtype magazine awards.
So yeah, I think it's fair to say she's been underappreciated on a wider scale until now

@@DripTac yes she now has the appreciation she deserves, but back in 2010 she wasn't at all well-known, until she sang for Angel Beats.
Yeah Gurenge has a really sad background. The main char looses almost his entire family, only his sister remains and he has to get strong to protect her.
Another recommendation: ReoNa - Niji no Kanata ni, and if you liked that, then Anima too :). ♥ (Can also be found on the First Take channel.)

The coolest part about this series of videos (the First Take series) is the format. It's literally one take with no vocal effects or post-production work. It's just the singer's vocals through the mic and sound board.

And it appears as if almost every single japanese knows not only this beautiful song, but also the complete lyrics by heart, so that they can sing along ... there are also tons of covers of Gurenge (see for example the many street piano performances that are shown on YT); it is one of the greatest smash hits in Japan in recent times for sure ...
Again I suggest to watch some live videos, then you'll get a more complete picture of that great artist that LiSA is. She is a tiny but mighty volcano on the stage, and a real communication sorceress, converting her shows into giant mass happenings and workouts (with her exercising the hardest always). Maybe you've seen that anyways, meanwhile.

My fiancée introduced me to the anime "Angel Beats" that featured LiSA. She loved LiSA and I became a fan with 'Angel Beats" all girl band "Girls Dead Monster". LiSA really won me over with this and I've been a fan ever since. Her vocal range is beautiful! I hope she continues her passion for a long, long time.

You should definetly check out the MV and the live of this in your free time, with a full band it's great, and that bass! To be fair though, I've seen a couple of LiSA's live shows (not in person, unfortunately) and they look like so much fun.
Thank you for reacting to LiSA! She's definitely one of my favourite singers if not the top singer for her amazing vocal work. She's been underappreciated for quite awhile but thanks to Demon Slayer she's being recognized now. Most wouldn't know it but she puts in the work to reach that level. And she's level-headed and humble. She's at the level where she is now cuz of the thousands of hours she practiced behind the scenes. She's been singing since 2005 so you can tell her experience is there through her songs.
She's currently taking a hiatus due to her husband being reported having an affair in a news magazine in Japan just recently. The magazine is very similar to TMZ and it's one of the most popular magazines in Japan. Hopefully she can get over it and recover. Btw, her husband is the vocalist for a rock band and a voice actor for anime. He voiced Noctis in the Kingsglaive Final Fantasy 15 movie Japanese dub version.
There's a video out there of her performing this song live with her band and OMFG!!! She rocked the fuckin house!!! Her voice, the band, the energy of her performance!!! I keep it on constant repeat.
I'd say this song made me love watching the anime Demon Slayer more than I would have if it wasn't used.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone suggesting Minami in your comments. She has a very strong and soulful voice I think you would love. My personal favorite by her is "Crying for rain." Check it out if you get the chance.

When I watched the Homura react video, I thought at first you couldn't really get into it. But after a few seconds you could really see how you got into the song. With the video now you could see right away how much you were looking forward to it and I love that especially when an artist leaves me speechless and others can understand it. Lisa is a special artist no matter how many times I hear her she is just an incomparable talent. Even though the language is Japanese, I can't understand why it's not much better known with this level of perfection.

I’ve always admired her control over the vocals. And the song is so awesome and touching >.< I also really loved the N.Flying cover of that song, w the drums and it’s a duet - a really nice harmony of voices.

I was touched, moved, impressed by all her performances at THE FIRST TAKE channel. So naturally I went to her own channel, and I did not like most of her songs there.
I find a pop rock style of her songs not interesting for me. And also in some of the songs LiSA sounded like screaming more than singing in her belts - I don`t know why that bothered me but it did.
Unlucky me...
But of course her ability to put emotions (especially in live concerts) I appreciate the most.
