Prime may represent comic readers who miss the days before the collector market caused writers/editors to try and make EVERY issue a landmark event, destroying continuity and making it impossible to get invested in the characters and stories.

Prime has the power of Pre-COIE Superman, the Silver Age one, who could move planets with his bare hands, and eat literally nuclear explosions, and travel thru time under his own power. THAT is why none of the modern characters have ANY chance against that sort of power-level. I'm still baffled that more haven't got this simple point yet

The sad bit about this is that the hero's are being the monsters here. While what prime did is unforgivable and wrong you also have to see what happened to him.
Just as prime got everything he ever wanted, the girl, powers all of it he lost everything he held dear to save the hero's and the earth they are now on. And he never got a thank you, he was never consoled about his loss and was never helped to overcome it either. Instead all the hero's just pushed him aside as a superman copy that they could call in as a back up until the grief just overtook him and pushed him to do the horrible things that he did.
So in the end it was the hero's and their unwillingness and lack of emotional help towards prime that caused all this. And even then, even when prime is breaking down infront of them all letting his emotions out about the pain that he has been suffering alone with for so long, instead of trying to console him, help him and end things peacefully in the end superman tries to lecture him about the wrongs he has Done, and the rest of the hero's taunt him and begin to beat him into a bloody pulp.
Prime is just a scared, grieving child who lacked the help he needed and as such is lashing out at those around him.
That made him mental unstable and dangerous. Take that into account
None of that excuses his actions. Life is hard. Suck it up. Everyone's world shrinks to the size of their problems, and while the scope and scale of his loss are rather unique, it's the same pain every parent that's ever buried a child feels. Superboy wasn't exactly a child when this happened, either, being what, 14-16? So, post-adolescent? _He knew better,_ and he chose to lash out. I thought Kryptonians were supposed to be reasonably immune to mental illness, but I guess not. Regardless of any of this, he's a mad dog of a man without any discipline or temper, and we tend to execute folks like that, after due process, and then publicly, to demonstrate what was done and why these are the consequences. From a character perspective, he's little more than Saitama minus the charm, sense of responsibility and accountability, and courage. I.e., a plot device.
Superman DID apologize, but the moment he tried to empathize and say 2-3 sentences, Prime shot him with heat vision.
Yeah, tell that to the kids that join the Taliban. Do you justify their actions because that's the real world equivalent minus the superpowers
@@BinkyTheToaster I never said to excuse his actions. I even said that what he did IS WRONG. I never ever said "oh they should just forgive him". He needs to be held accountable for his actions. However this all could of been avoided if they were just there for him when he needed them to be. But instead they just used him as a superman copy to do the work that they didn't want to do and when he finally snapped that's when they were treating him like a monster or in superman's case apologising to him.
He does need to be held for his actions however the hero's need to be held for theirs too for neglecting his grief and torment until it was too late

Talking about tactics, the heroes know that red sun radiation is his weakness. Then all of the heroes fighting SBP should have weapons that generate Red Sun radiation.
Batman should have a few satellites in orbit since he is prepared for anything.
The Guardians know that also, but they don't come prepared to fight SBP either.
Actually when he was first made he wasnt weak to anything, not even magic, simoly he ran out of energy fast so he made a suit that contains energy
He was defeated by two Supermans pushing him through Krypton's red sun. He managed to kill the original Superman before he lot power but the "modern Superman. Finally knocked him out.

This whole return Prime will make in Shazam #13 just reminded me of a scan from Hell Arisen. When Batman Who Laughs told Luthor "I have walked the cosmic folds of this multiverse. I've stood by the sides of beigns that could SHATTER REALITY WITH A WELL PLACED PUNCH"
I remembered Prime when I saw that scan. Now with his return I'm even more suspicious that BWL may be the reason of his return. And I don't think there's a force in the current Multiverse capable of stopping Prime physical power and Batman Who Laughs mind combined. DC can make this preety big if they don't mess up with Prime like they did in the past.

@@UnifiedEntity well Darkseid returned in a Wonder Woman comic and is doing well at Odyssey. Prime always appeared in big events like Infinite Crisis, Sinestro War and Final Crisis kicking everyone's ass until the plot demanded him to be defeated. I mean it was cool to see him always be the last villain standing against the whole universe but it happened too many times already.
He's too cool to only have brief appearances like that. Something like this may be good for a long term return. Beating te hell out of Shazam family and then proceding to do something more important after.

Looking at how things turned out, he was right to be angry. *Superboy-Prime was botched by the writers, warped by his (supposed) allies and failed by his peers!* Instead of expanding on his origins to tell a more grounded story and set him up as an enduring character, they used him to mock their customers and be a walking strawman/punching bag. It really does feel like these heinous actions on his part are (somewhat) forced in to set him up as a threat, and the breakdown on the bridge was his real characterization shining through.
Even after everything he's done, seeing him get beat up and yelling "Let go, that hurts" struck way more of an emotional cord with me than I thought it would. Reminds me of my early middle school days. :C

I don't understand.. why does he need sunlight without his armor? Superman doesn't normally worry about fighting night or day or in space.. he just gets a bit weaker under a red sun. As long as he is in a constellation with a yellow sun he's o.p. Sure direct sunlight or sun dipping can super charge him but normally he is like a deep cycle battery and he stores plenty of power from a little sunlight that should last him for longgg periods of time
because before this he was trapped by the green lanterns and the rest of JL under a red sun eater for like 3 years so he had 0 reserves

I think the sinestro suit didn't give out as much power as the suit that he had before. It was like a containment suit for him with limited access to yellow sun radiation. Sinestro core would be a fool to let him get power right away
@@um_2018Kryptonite only works on superboy prime if it’s the kryptonite that is from his home world of Prime Earth; prime earth was destroyed in the crisis on infinite earths and as such there is none left (before this krypton was absorbed into its sun on earth prime instead of exploding, leading to the belief that his universe didn’t contain kryptonite). Other beings however have manufactured Prime Kryptonite such as element lad (from prime earth future thus allowing for it to harm him) and I believe ego does as well at the some other point. The suns impact only effects him greatly as he was trapped before this without access and his reserves had been drained dry (his battery allowed for him to have his powers back but only as a temporary means and not it usual use of boosting his powers to a degree.

Sinestro Corps is going ham all across the universe. Lethal force on both sides of the corps has been authorized. The Anti-Monitor is serving in a "Guardian" role for them.
When they assaulted Oa, they let Prime out of his super prison. Hes been sorta wasting away in there, hence the armor. It aids his recovery in low-sunlight spaces. Notice how it looks like the Anti-Monitor's armor.
Anywho, everyone and their mother heads to Earth for the final confrontation. They all want an end to this thing. AM squares off against loads of actual GL Guardians. The Sinestro power battery is destroyed. The battery explosion is like a galaxy destroying wave of energy that is barely contained and redirected right onto the AM's face. It takes the wind out of his sails.
Prime is recovered at this point (as seen at the end of this comic). He had just beaten Ion and is feeling pretty full of himself. He decides he doesn't want to serve so he "kills" the badly wounded AM and tosses his "corpse" into space.
At this point the Oan Guardians turn on Prime directly. It's a close fight but one of them decides "screw you, you are to dangerous " and suicide bombs Prime, seemingly killing him.
Buuuut later we learn he absorbs the energy and gets teleported across the cosmos with a temporary powerup.
Sinestro Corps is in shambles, good guys win.

No you’re wrong. You’re referring to Superman Prime One million which is very different to Superman Prime who is here. He starts out as superboy prime but grows into superman prime.
