The scariest part is that Dr. Manhattan's only 'weakness' if you could call it that is his neutral moral compass.
I think that would be the consequence of being that powerful, when you know everything that will ever happen you don't have to actually act very often because you've already experienced all possibilities before things happen. Worse than Bruce Banners curse imo.

They should have just excused the Green Lantern. Dr Manhattan is basically like an omnipotent man on a very curious acid trip. He's pretty chill. He's just completely unstoppable.
His biggest problem is all the power he has, but still only having a very human mind. When you can see the past, present and future, I guess you could say it's like a curious acid trip.

@@eliasgalindo5578 So in the comics, for the greater good of humanity (After Ozymandias released the psycho octapus like thing and killed millions), the truth of mass murderer caused by "the aliens" was a lie, everyone decided to just hide the truth. US and USSR/Russia at the time were at brink of war, Ozymandias believes that the only way to unite humanity is by creating "a better, stronger, and worse threat". He did and killed millions. After the heros of watchmen find out, Roshcach believes that truth needs to be told and burrying the truth is not moral. The only way to "make Rorshcach stop" is by killing him, and Dr. Manhattan did. He couldn't win the argument with Rorshcach because everyone knew he's right.

Rorschach didn't beat Dr Manhatan.
The comic shows that guy as a broken, obsessive, murderous man who is completely at odds with society and knows it.
When he refused to keep Ozy's secret, he commited suicide by cop, he wanted Manhattan to kill him.
The one who could challenge Manhattan morally was the Comedian. Not because he was a good person, but because he was fully aware of right and wrong, and lamented manhattan growing absence of moral compass.
Well, there's superman too in this comics, ln that superman does not fight him, but convince him through word and acts that heroism is possible. And this lead Manhattan to understand why he never saw the future past a certain point. Not because the world was so awful it would destroy itself, but because he would sacrifice himself to save it.
@@ConteventDo you know WHY Rorschach has a following? It's because he wasn't willing to compromise his morals and beliefs. Because he saw what the normal person was too blinded by their own daily humdrum to see. The corruption in politics, in law enforcement, etc. Moore wrote him exactly as a Randian extremist because he's a Socialist stooge himself who also wanted people to hate him. Rorschach just did what we all wish we could do in the face of the failure of the system and that is fight back.
It was so obvious what they were trying to do in the Netflix show as well, but all it did was p-ss people off. Moore is his own enemy and he deserves every moment of torture he feels for the character he hates the most being the most well liked from The Watchmen, his cynical take on superheroes.
I wonder if The Presence is aware of Dr. Manhattans existence. Dr. Manhattan seems to exist within and outside of creation at the same time..

TBF control over the entirety of a universe is a pretty strong power, he can see in all times at once, and can affect any one of them at anytime, he can shift and move the entirety of the universe at will. He might as well be a personal version of the infinity gauntlet with one less stone (the soul stone, the ONLY power Manhattan doesn't have from the gauntlet's powerset)

Truly, the gap between "super"-heroes of his world and himself is IMMENSE. And yet he got outplayed by Ozymandias.
Basically yeah, in his universe there are "super heroes" but they're more like people with the morality of people, they don't have individuals like batman, superman, or a captain america walking around, just super beings behaving like normal people would, which leads to situations like you would expect when you give normal people super powers, some people will try to be good, some people will be evil, and some people will just do whatever with it.
You don't have a group of people with batman's or superman's no kill rule, you just have some people who don't care about killing, some people who enjoy killing, and some people who would rather not but absolutely will if pushed.

Any time DC or Marvel brings in a multitude of characters, it's like everyone's IQ drops a proportionate amount. Why would all these intelligent characters who demonstrate creativity, insight, and wisdom in their own solo stories, suddenly try to jump this one guy who isn't even active aggressively.....

The way they portrayed it, each clone/shadowclone causes the user to split their focus, which splits the IQ of each one. So the more clones one makes, the more stupid they get (including the original...although they didn't ALWAYS abide by this rule). But it places an ultimate limit since you can make many of you, but each gets stupider.
...which is kind of a reflection of mob mentality. Or, as Kay put it in Men in Black, "A PERSON is smart. PEOPLE are dumb, panicy animals prone to bouts of hysteria at the slightest provocation" (or something like that). There is a real life thing where, when surrounded by friends and allies (or just other people in general), people seem to get stupider. Not everyone, but most. Especially when surrounded by friends. A lone guy at a bar isn't that likely to pick a fight, but if he has 5-10 of his buddies with him, he is since he feels he has a posse who have his back and that they can, together, win.
It stands to reason that the more hotheaded heroes would think that same way. "It's just one guy and I've got 100 super powered heroes here. We can take 'em!"

a little bit, it didn't really make sense that someone with unlimited powers couldn't exist with his powers at the same time as the child. Or they kept talking about how manhattan could undo all the problems of both worlds and how he can time travel, is nigh-omniscient and able to exist at multiple point simultaneously without diminishing his power but he doesn't really do anything to fix things, he undoes a little bit but for the most part it seemed he was only willing to mess with the timeline to try and make things worse as an experiment but would refuse to do so in practice as an attempt to improve or erase situations found throughout the Watchmen and DC universes.

Dr.Manhattan is a peek to what it feels like to be a literal god. Somewhere along the flurry of existence Dr.M doesnt care and oneshot everything just like "the slap" meme in infinite realities, but we can only see one facet of reality as a reader/viewer so it must be something important that can grasp Dr.Manhattan's perspective.

He's usually more interested in the fundamental particles of what everything is made of…He gets bored with the interweaving of superheroes and humans problems, for him technically everything is the same, the universe doesn't even realize it.

This was a terrible idea. Manhattan is not a character, he's a literal deus ex machina, he's too powerful to have drama around him and reducing his power makes him a different character (being overpowered is the point to his character).
It's bad enough DC refuses to give back his characters to Alan Moore(it's there in the contract, DC has been exploiting a loophole for decades) but to rewrite them this badly and with zero understanding of how they work is adding insult to injury
