Mustard is a beast for getting through that but, man that had to torture.

He used to scare me
I beat the game on hard at age 9 through pure cheese (spamming sweeps on Shao Kahn), but it is not a fun experience, mostly because inputs drop left and right.
It's shocking how much worse this is compared to MK2 for GB
I do like the bitcrushed music though
my first gameboy game. i used the following tactic to beat shao kahn. crouch and uppercut him. then wait crouched and defend until the timer ends. lol
Imagine thinking that the Game Boy version of any arcade fighting game has any rules except pure, unadulterated jank.
Use to have this game! Absolute trash! All you had to do was do Sektor/Smokes teleport uppercut for infinites

I went shopping with my mom and brother when it first came out, and all I could remember is I seeing it and thinking it was a bootleg.
I was thinking something to the affect, “There’s not enough buttons on a Gameboy? Developers really think they could get away with this?” and it kind of upset me.
I remember saying, “This is how much they’re charging? Midway can get f**ked!” My mom overheard me and slapped me on the back of my head.
and this is the man, who played fighting games for many years. Imagine doing it being fckin 9 y.o. No psychologist would be able to recover you from that.

Hey i was wondering if u guys can look over this wake up baiting tech in MK 11 i dont if u would actually call it tech but its really strange what certain characters can do after a hard knockdown. For example Sub-Zero after B321 he can slide or insta air polar axe and be safe from any wake up in the game but there r much weirder ones the make no sense but actually work. I just want to see what u think because u anaylsis of fighting games is top notch.

I remember having this cartridge and popping it into a GameBoy Advance. Let me select a color shader on startup, and the wider screen went a long way.

This is hilarious. I recently tried to play MKA which is also an MK3 port but for advanced and I managed to beat shao kahn and unlock human smoke but it was VERY hard

Imagine being a 2020 pro mk 11 player and for mk11 you ask for liu kang and Jacquie nerfs because you think they are dumb strong we old heads actually knew real struggles ,great job guys awesome video enjoyment level very high brought back allot of memories i have been playing mk before sonicfox and ninjakilla where even born and I still suck 🤣🤣🤣
The ending for Cyrax is actually the same ending that he always had for MK3 across all ports including the Arcade version, it just had been shorten to fit to one screen for the GB. Good for you to finally beating that port dude.

As bad as mk1 and mk3 are on GB, mk2 on GB is a really good version of the game.

@@modest1989 it’s actually decent, much better controls, fatalities, babalities, a stage fatality, even Smoke and Jade are able to be found and fought just like arcade. I’d even say the game looks better too. It doesn’t have the full roster, but the characters you expect to see are there. It’s a decent way to play MK on a Gameboy.
Yeah strangely I had MK2 on GB as well and I don't remember it playing awful like this. It was just a uglier black and white MK2 for the most part.
