@@djcarlo Hi there - I am new to the DJ scene, and looking for a controller that can ease me into the basics. I currently have a Numark Party Mix 2, but not too impressed as I have had to return the unit twice in 6months due to faults with the knobs and jog wheels. So thinking of maybe going over to Pioneer. Music selection & knowing how too read a crowd is really the key too being a good dj, and of course beat matching is important too. You dont have too know how too scratch to be labeled as a good dj, I get so tired of hearing dudes out there sayin "oh but he cant scratch." There is a time and a place for scratching, and 9 times out of 10 people just want too hear their music. I've never had anyone come up too me at a gig or event and ask me when Im gonna start scratching 😂

I love that this is a MIDI Controller, so no matter what, there is a decent amount of pads too, and that you can not only use it for mixing, but also probably make music on any DAW.
Another thing you can do with a controller is put those little extra spicy ideas into a track like backspins into drops or transitions, adding effects like echo or beatmashing to some parts, etc can REALLY take your song to the next level and sometimes for me after I mix something a specific way, it's almost like the "live version" I made REPLACES the original in my head and it sounds better because you get to make it your own a little~ Just food for thought :)

Great video man! What an amazing routine at the beginning omg On thing you haven’t said is whether or not it comes with the full version of rekordbox? If it doesn’t, the DDJ-400 is still well ahead of this one as standalone rekordbox is at over 100 dollars
It's just going to be a limited version of the DDJ 400. Most things can still be operated on the laptop or a cheap midi device can be paired & mapped. The soft cue & play are only like the ones on Denon & other dual & table top players. Trims/gains are a necessity though to me, adjusting on the touchpad every time would annoy. If you normalise files or remaster in Platinum Notes everything is the same volume, maybe not as much of an issue? It's just driving the software, that does the work. Midi is midi. & Midi Hid is midi hid. Same number of increments your adjusting whether it cost £10 or £1000.
Technically, you can make it all work on more less expensive DJ gear, but doing so will require a lot of different types of prep work. Interesting take on it Ashley!
@@djcarlo It's the reason I just added 2x Gemini MDJ 900s to the set up, to mainly use as midi hid controllers in Traktor Pro3 at least. With the latest firmware they are not too shabby standalone either (But you have to analyse in Vcase software, the unit is too slow really). It has a nice similar sized jog (though touch capacitive) a nice high res long pitch, all the kind of mapable buttons (& more) that's on CDJ 2000+ etc & doesn't cost £2000 just to use as a controller!
Love all your videos and your delivery! You are truly talented and a great communicator. Question: What version of rekordbox is this compatible with? Does it plug and play to full rekordbox like the ddj-400? Much respect!!

Thank you for watching!
I came here to See the Review but you are Damn Impressive Dude. 😍😍😍😍 I nailed it
Wow!!! I'm really torn apart between this, the Numark Mixtrack 3, and the Pioneer DDJ WeGo 2!!! Hard to choose....😅
Love all your videos and your delivery! You are truly talented and a great communicator. Question: What version of rekordbox is this compatible with? Does it plug and play to full rekordbox like the ddj-400? Much respect!!
Galing naman ni idol❤
Salamat! Don't forget to check out my other reviews too!
