Thank you, was comparing this to a Numark, for my daughter, and this review clinched the deal for a starter set. The fact it can connect to iPhone/iPad as well as PC, I think this is the best fun way to get into it. Then if she gets on with it and wants better then we can upgrade .... Just looks like a fun set.... I 'can't wait for Christmas now to play with it. oh I mean my daughter. lol Just need to find the right streaming services to work with these. Will dig out my old cd/mpeg 3 for now.

I’ve been looking for this for a long time
I’m thinking on getting one soon. I spin with a SZ and I also use my iPad with algorithm Djay pro app for request song that I won’t have in my laptop. I’m thinking on setting this little controller under the SZ inside the case with a rolling shelf, so if I get a weird request, I could just pull it out mix it them out and would be tucked in and have a bunch of equipment out of sight and only use a single case.

Thanks for the review, I have a $799 lenavo laptop running gigs at 2 msec (LY) . running rekordbox dvs And sometimes serato DVS . no issues. so don't believe the hype. you don't need a $1500 or more laptop to preform your magic on the dance floor. One party i was even running picture from the same laptop to display old pictures from high school. no issues in 4 hours. But this ddj200 is perfect for a back -up controller with the ipad. you cant go wrong. better than bringing a bigger controller & a separate laptop.
Nope you don't at all. Don't even need a laptop to begin with or even fl or Ableton for that matter. I use my phone's app WEdj and this little controller and that's all you pretty much need along with some speakers which can easily be connected to.
Cannot WAIT to get this music out my head and onto a dance floor. Thanks bud im starting out but still not sure about using this or an old school set up. Feel like ill be cheating.
By default you would use a modern old school set since you don't need a laptop for this controller. Just a phone for the pads and tracks.

I like it as a backup, and I hate it when I don't have a song and I have to pop out my phone use Spotify/djay 2 and hook it with an Aux cable to my mixer.. with this controller I can still use Spotify/djay 2 and have better control of the song..

Can’t believe Pioneer still holding two separate software for DJing even now. They do have rekordbox on iOS too but it’s lacking so much.
How is it possible that Djay is so far ahead of the standard dj software?

I use the numark Idj pro which is specifically designed for djay on my iPad, it works really well, but I didn’t know pioneer did a controller that works with djay, thx for the great video rick 👍👍
to be honest I think my numark is better, it’s a lot bigger, it has a 3.5 headphone imput on front, plus xlr output, soft touch buttons and a lot more, so will stick with numark for now

Dude, you have to used "TRS to TRRS splitter" for an Android device before the output splitter cable, I assume. Android device's headphones port can't split the connection between Headphones and integrated Mic (such as in handsfree cable) by it self. Cheers!

You don't need the one provided by pioneer but the mono splitter is how you get headphones

Ik im bias and I’m just saying the intro like not your logo but the start the filter doesn’t sound clean and ik sometimes I use filter but I don’t like how it auto filter to the next deck and ik some people might like it but I don’t, and I don’t use filter going deck to deck and you can correct me if I’m wrong but it’s just my opinion
the WeDJ app is available for Android and I am told they fixed the audio and the audio quality is an easy settings adjustment. Any thoughts?

You can connect to a computer and use rekordbox. And if you use a phone the audio output is the phone speaker or the headphone jack

There must be a way to record as I’m using the DJAY app with my ddj200’s and mixing music off soundcloud but it will not allow me to record via this app . I’m running the decks off my ipad is there any way of recording a set so I can then upload my mix’s . Of course with normal decks you can use a sound card but I know you can’t do this with the ddj200’s . Can anyone help me in any way please . I would greatly appreciate it
You can record normally in the DJay app. Might have something to do with using sound cloud that is wont let you.

Great Review of the Pioneer DDJ 200. Just bought one for my son for Christmas and I'm trying to make it work on an Android phone. Do you know if it´s possible to make it work with an Android and Spotify? What software should I use in that case?
I am not aware of a software that uses spotify...
Hercules Inpulse 200 is a wayyyy better beginner controller for $100. It uses mobile devices through the DJAY APP and laptops (DJ APP, Virtual DJ, Juiced, etc..).
This is a cool little piece of tech really nice. Do you think Denon will attempt to make something similar?

No, cause is stupid, Numark tried and it sold very well but people was disappointed for how bad it is, Hercules already makes this kind of entry entry level consoles.
But Numark isn't Pioneer. Pioneer has a way larger grasp on the DJ community. Plus add in any kid that wants to be a DJ sees the big guys using CDJs. This is a super smart move on pioneers part.
@@DJRickWeb ddj400 or RB does the job, 200 doesn't, it's less then bedroom controller. It doesn't have the basics, too many minuses.

200 is 1/8" or aux output. So that to whatever your speakers are. Xlr or rca or trs or 1/4"

The sound quality will only be as good as your devices output. Has nothing to do with the cable

So I have 2 JBL partybox 300’s that I normally just let my youtube red playlist go through at party’s. Will this run fine while trying to Bluetooth outta the JBL’s?
It wont work because the bluetooth is used for the controller. Not for sending audio to a source

If i want to start DJing,
Do I or should i start with beginner equipment (like ddj400) or can i immediately learn from high end equipment? Is it better for me to start with something cheap like ddj 400 or can I use something like this or ddj 1000 to start? And why? Can't i start learning the basics on a high end system?
If you can afford a bigger controller like a 1000. There is no issue learning on that vs cheaper. It's just more money.
