The Pioneer DJ is a nicer looking unit and is a great introduction package to get used to their equipment. The main downside on this unit is that it lacks a "gain/trim" control, this can be very handy for matching the levels of your tracks if one is a bit louder or quieter without having to be fiddly with the faders. If you decide this is important for you then the Hercules is the way to go. However, most music these days is equally loud so most of the time not having the gain/trim will not cause a problem.
Incredible ! The DJ Industry keeps producing smaller, compact coontrollers for a low price. Maybe in the future there will be another company like in the mobile industry "Huawei", which produces DJ Controllers with many functions under 100 bucks.
