I love how compact and light it is, I'm really happy for my Birthday purchase, I have dreamt of a DJ Controller for 7 years, and I've already been working with music for that long and knew all of the DJ'ing ins & outs, just needed to learn to do that on a controller, for the very first time. And this is a really good and easy setup guide :) I'm really excited for the future ahead of me.

Got the DDJ-200 for Xmas’20 as a first time bedroom DJ/ beginner and I seriously wish I had the done following: 1. Watched this video on how to setup the device with the proper splitter etc 2. Setup a Beatport Link/BPM Supreme account ahead of time - none of my Apple Music was eligible for playback when I started playing around I basically lost interest in the device until I went for Ministry Of Sound: Classical at the O2 Arena almost 10 months later where i caught the DJ itch again lol. I dug up the DDJ 200, did proper research (thank you Crossfader!) and signed up to Beatport Link and BPM Supreme and finally found out why this device is so neat! Xmas’21 and I got a DDJ-1000 bundle with monitors, headphones and cables and I’m loving dj’ing for friends and family. My DDJ-200 is now my travel deck and I defo recommend it (subject to the above lessons!)
I'm thinking of buying the DDJ-200 for small parties and events to use it with my notebook, but I don't have an external soundcard. Do you think I can still play it fine in mono when using a headphone? Thanks
I'm going back to DJing after 20 years away..I was on vinyl and mainly CDs ..So I'm really up for the change to digital... only thing is I'm Dyslexic so everything has to be totally organized for me to grasp this but I know I have to change for the better 🎤🎧

Does only one earphone work on the headphones or does it play a mono signal through both earphones? I was fully aware of a mono output due to its splitter cable
@@rockmunkey1981 Just guessing but any decent splitter would give you mono in both sides I'd be surprised if it wasn't. Then again I'm surprised how many videos reviewing this thing just don't actually mention that your output is mono at all. I was wondering what kind of magical splitter cable is pioneer using and how expensive is it going to be to replace.

I have the split icon on but I've been trying for 3 days to get the sound to play through my headphones and it doesn't, it just plays through teh speakers making it impossible to use the unit. What am I doing wrong?

Hello, I purchased the DDJ-200 and really happy with my first 2 channel mixer. I was using JBL Flip Essential initially, but purchased the JBL Extreme 2 version to have more Watts for outdoor usage. When I play spotify by Bluetooth connection the volume and quality is great. But in the setup with the splitter cable and iPad + DDJ, the max volume is only half. All levels on iPad, Speaker and Djay app are on maximum. Do I need an extra device like preamp to feed the speaker? Hope to get some support. Regards, Kevin
We use a bluetooth speaker (Blueant x4) that doesn't have an audio jack input. Will that affect being able to use the headphones to cue, or should we just connect the headphones via the supplied cable and leave the speaker end disconnected?
I have a pc and bought a ddj200 to try djing for the first time. Was having fun just using my laptop speakers and messing around but the time came to get the headphones going. The splitter cable does not work. I use an external speaker too so the laptop speakers were not in use. I can only hear both tracks playing in headphones no matter what I do with settings etc. The speakers do the same thing. Please help if you can! I feel like smashing the ddj to pieces. so if i have amp powered speakers i would just run it threw my regular mixer, the to the amps, then ouit to the speaker? or do i skip the mixer and go straight into the amps?

I normally play in clubs on CJ's 2000's or 900's , considering how cheap these are I thought might be a good shout to use with rekordbox to set up basic cues + playing around with transitions, has anyone out there tried this? do the rekordbox settings on the DDJ200 transfer nicely to the 2000's/900's? thank you

I just got the ddj 200 with the dm 40bt speakers and hdj x5 headphones. im also using galaxy s22 ultra with the wedj app.plugged everything in with the split cables to speakers and headphones and the sound quality is really low. do I need to add an external sound card as well?
Right now I’m just goofing around in my bedroom with a JBL flip 4 speaker. I’m using an old aux cord from a pair of beats to go into the speaker/splitter. I get a nasty hissing interference while music is playing, would a better gold tipped aux cord eliminate that? And will any old audio splitter work properly or do I have to use the included one?
I have been looking into getting the ddj200. My goal is to be able to scratch my own samples and then record that scratching audio as a separate track into my DAW. I have an Android phone and an iPad mini. I really need help. Everything is set up correctly, phone settings correct yet I can’t get any sound through my speakers when using the WeDJ app. The speakers are working fine, I can play my music from my phone library through the speakers so that isn’t the issue. I really don’t know what to do

How on earth would a 3.5mm headphone splitter give you two different audio streams? Is this some sort of weird proprietary jack and plug because that's gonna be annoying to replace if you lose or break it. And by annoying I mean expensive. Or does it split the audio into two mono streams like Right is the headphones and left is the speaker? I've watched like 5-6 videos on this and they all mention the splitter but none mention HOW it's working. For my use I'd like stereosound but I'm not sure you can do that with this deck.
Alright confirmed in lower comments that it will be mono audio when using splitter. So at least it works in a way I understand and that unfortunately dealbreaks for me. That's way to big with way too much space to be . well audiocardless.

You can’t use ddj-200 with serato. If you’re using an iPad then the best application with streaming is algoriddim DJAY. This can work with the ddj-200 along with lots of other controllers.
Hi there, when using the white and black splitter.. What if the splitter is all black.. But still headphone and mic input.. Which jack goes into which port? And what do you press to hear the track you're mixing in the headphones and not the speakers? 😊 😊
@@Crossfader The sound quality with Rekordbox is so bad in my case. So I tried some other free Dj Softwares and it was probably 50% better. Is there any advice to change that?
Thanks for the video, it gave me the push to go and buy one and get back into mixing after a long time away from it! It does the job brilliantly, especially as I haven’t got a huge library of downloads yet (using Djay and Beatport Link) One question... I have a bit of a lag between my headphones and my speakers (tv soundbar) connected via the 2 plug AUX channel. Bit annoying when I have my headphone on one ear and listening to the speakers with the other. Does anyone know any solutions to get them in sync. Have tried two pairs of headphones, but no joy! Cheers
It's your speaker. Lag is common among many consumer speakers nowadays, even when using an AUX input. The only solution is to take your DDJ 200 etc to a store and test speakers out. Not a big hassle tho since you can easily fit everything into a backpack and hit up the shops

Unfortunately because it uses the left channel to go to the headphones and the right to go master, there's no possibility for stereo output!

I’m using a Bluetooth speaker and when I plug my earphones in all the sound goes through the earphones. Split audio is on too.

You can’t use ddj-200 with serato. If you’re using an iPad then the best application with streaming is algoriddim DJAY. This can work with the ddj-200 along with lots of other controllers.

Hi there, when using the white and black splitter.. What if the splitter is all black.. But still headphone and mic input.. Which jack goes into which port? And what do you press to hear the track you're mixing in the headphones and not the speakers? 😊 😊

You'd have to create your own midi mapping I'd imagine sadly.

@@Crossfader The sound quality with Rekordbox is so bad in my case. So I tried some other free Dj Softwares and it was probably 50% better. Is there any advice to change that?

Thanks for the video, it gave me the push to go and buy one and get back into mixing after a long time away from it! It does the job brilliantly, especially as I haven’t got a huge library of downloads yet (using Djay and Beatport Link)
One question... I have a bit of a lag between my headphones and my speakers (tv soundbar) connected via the 2 plug AUX channel. Bit annoying when I have my headphone on one ear and listening to the speakers with the other.
Does anyone know any solutions to get them in sync. Have tried two pairs of headphones, but no joy! Cheers
It's your speaker. Lag is common among many consumer speakers nowadays, even when using an AUX input. The only solution is to take your DDJ 200 etc to a store and test speakers out. Not a big hassle tho since you can easily fit everything into a backpack and hit up the shops
you can also set your headphone output to master to hear both tracks playing in your headphones while only one track plays oon your speakers

Hello, can someone help me to understand what is the use of splitter cable!! Is it split the audio to headphone and speaker simultaneously or we can hear the next que of 2nd deck separately via Headphone while playing current song in 1st deck via speaker.

I have bought a second hand ddj 200 but it didnt come with splitter cable! I cannot get headphone to play different song to main speaker, ive tried on pc and tablet and split option does not work is it because ive bought after market wire? Thanks
