@@Sleeper800 I disagree. I remember when it debuted in the anime and when Serena’s Braixen was revealed to have evolved that people were actually pleased with how much better it looks in motion. Braixen was clearly more popular during Gen 6 with the aforementioned presence in the anime and it being in Pokken but Delphox actually surpassed it in the POTY poll so people are definitely coming around it. A lot of Pokémon suffer from how motionless the models are. I’m not saying it’d be Greninja tier popular but I don’t think people would be as mixed if given a better first impression.
Delphox is underrated to be honest, loved the design and the unique presence it brings to pokemon, unfortunately it wasn't the *best* but definitely not terrible I'd say!
I agree, Delphox isn't at all a bad Pokemon to use: not only did it have quite a lot going for it competitively (as was detailed in this video), but I also hear it's a great pick for your starter Pokemon in a playthrough of X or Y, too. I think gen 9 is helping out Delphox a whole lot. This pokemon now has access to nasty plot, alongside focus blast for some nice coverage overall. Terastilization also helps this pokemon a ton in regards to giving it a stab for certain coverage types like Fairy to help match up against dark types. While Delphox's Magician ability is still trash, I think you can find some utility in abusing knock off spam, which is very popular this generation. I don't see Delphox excelling in OU or VGC unfortunately, but I think it is definitely in a much better spot compared to gens prior and will remain a staple low-tier powerhouse. Definitely excited for HOME to come out so that I can finally be reunited with one of my favorite fire types.
If you're ever going to see and read this comment, here's a little suggestion: If you're ever going to go over Melmetal's competitive history, I suggest you cover its competitive viability in Pokemon Go as well (a.k.a Go Battle League, a.k.a competitive cookie clicker), since Meltan originally debuted in Pokemon Go technically. I know you only cover mainline competitive Pokemon, but that's just my suggestion.

It’s surprising that it took until Gen 6 to get a part Psychic-type starter
I wonder if Victini had anything to do with it.
I never looked into it’s popularity and maybe Game Freak decided to take advantage of that popularity.
BKC is a writing menace!!
Delphox was my very first Pokémon! Aaaaand now I still agree with most people, delphox looks whacky as hell. Doesn’t stop me from having some nostalgia towards it though!
the fact you fw Swans is crazy as hell, great band though + great vid
Glad to see that Delphox was very good
Lmao. Absolutely love the thumbnail.
Also, when we doing SCRAFTYYY??
Delphox is definitely a much better option for the new tms it can learn even some options like spanding force or store power are interesting too.
Delphox just on their own, "hello darkness my old friend"
I come to talk with you again....
Finally my favorite starter!
Delphox is awesome. Its typing alone makes it a legend among the Fire Starters.
If you're ever going to see and read this comment, here's a little suggestion:
If you're ever going to go over Melmetal's competitive history, I suggest you cover its competitive viability in Pokemon Go as well (a.k.a Go Battle League, a.k.a competitive cookie clicker), since Meltan originally debuted in Pokemon Go technically.
I know you only cover mainline competitive Pokemon, but that's just my suggestion.
"competative cookie clicker"
As someone who was really invested in Go Battle League, that statement couldn't be more true
I don’t play much outside of ultra league and even then it’s low to mid ladder matched with Gira-A, Swampert and Cress, but how well does it fair in the different leagues? I’m assuming it’s really good in master league due to resisting Mewtwo psystrike and charm but what about great/ultra?
@@ianhubble9973 Same here.
@@mr.krustykrust It's not good in Great League, it's meh in Ultra, but it THRIVES in Master League (check pvpoke, last time I checked it was rank 1 in Master League)
@@mr.krustykrust Who even plays GO competitively?
TWO IN ONE DAY! LET'S GO!!!
Wish it had magic guard. Could fix a lot of issues with it
Delphox in the thumbnail be like: 🎶 "I'm all alooooone, there's no one here beside meeeee..." 🎶
Man charmander was so bad they really had to double upload 😭
Love learning about new mons through these videos!
I still wish fennekin stayed a quadruped, too many starters, especially among the fires became bipedal. Looking at you litten
At least we have Typhlosion. It mainly stands bipedally but it’s classified as a quadruped and is seen on all fours at times.
@@IgnitedQuils poor typhlosion just needs a not stiff and lifeless 3D animation
@@Venandi_ Why you people want four legs?
@@notscorchingsands9718 it's their fetish
@@Venandi_ Until Arceus
Was not expecting a swans reference at 0:39 😂
Love the witch design. Great Mon overall
I love this thumbnail. Delphox standing there alone is so funny
The cool thing about Delphox is that when they use flamethrower, they pull out a stick that resembles a wand and aims it at the opponent Pokémon. It makes me think of Harry Potter ♥️
Delphox: Stupefy!
