      But Capp, what about "Garage Door Industrial"? I imagine it works the same as the "Garage Door Metal", but isn't it supposed to be big enough to fit the Jeep? #JeepsGoBeep

      Yes, the bigger garage door will work with the jeep. I just didn't show that one off because it was wired just like the rest and didn't want to pad the video out any longer than it needed to be :)

      this game needs a base overhaul update right now bases are just chests with a few forges cement mixer and workbench, it would be sick to have functionality for a lot of things like tvs, firdges stoves etc

    Thank you for the info in this, I didn't even think of having 2 cameras linked together. Nothing really explains some of the complex wiring you can do through or HAVE to do through a base so this helped. One thing I would mention though, when you connect the second camera, it removes the first connection from the first camera to the door. So basically you just have to go Switch -> Camera -> Camera -> Door. You won't need the extra step of hooking the first camera to the door. I noticed that in the video, and it reminded me of the wire swap I get sometimes in game with items.

      @@yifeng3007 Actually I have found if you go from power source, to first camera inside, to second camera outside to door and set each to like a duration of 3 seconds....they work on both sides. I do recommend pointing them down though because walking anywhere near them sets them off so my base door would sometimes open and close when I was walking by. So I had to put blocks to block the line of sight of them to only look down.

    Little tip for getting the truck to fit in garage doors. If you put in ramp/slope blocks upside down above the door, it gives you that last little bit of clearance you need. It's just like using stairs upside down in Minecraft so you can ride your horse into the barn without suffocating in the wall.

    Great tutorial bud for the garage door and the truck I used 2 garage doors the 2nd door on top of the 1st door works like a charm

    when i found the issue for the garage door even basic one all i did was leave a 1 block gap above the doors and then i could drive in and out with no issues

    We need more power related stuff to play with:
    Alternate switch as a musthave, more inputs for electric devices, electric furnace, electric vehicles, powered elevators, maybe later working ACs and heaters to compensate biomes, etc.
    I have a load of ideas posted to the forums but no sign of positive feedback yet :(

      Electric vehicles aren't really needed imo. Furnaces/stoves, elevators and heaters/ACs would be nice though. As long as they're proper endgame stuff that you basically don't get unless you have everything else already. Purely as a luxury basically.

    Tried it, doesn't work. I did it the same way you did in your video, but when you connect second camera to the door, first one is getting disconnected from the door. Also, when first camera is not triggered, second one is not getting powered.
    I have no idea how it's working in your video, but in my game it's not. I was trying everything, and there's not way to open the same door from inside and outside by using motion sensors because doors can be connected to 1 thing at the same time, and motion sensors are not providing power when not triggered (obviously).

    Swtiches seem less convenient that just clicking a manual door. The cameras though, great!

    I usually have walls on my bases, so it doesn't really matter about opening it from the inside, I just jump off the walls.

    Wouldn't trigger plates be more effective than motion sensors? Have you tried them? Thanks for your videos, very interesting as always.

      @@capp00 They're a lot more streamlined than the motion detector camera (to me anyway). You're able to hook up a 1x5 pressure plate to both a drawbridge and a door, and set delays for how immediate you want them to open and a delay for how long you want them to remain open before closing. probably my favorite addition in A18 tbh

      @@rbscholtus they are, which is awesome. Unfortunately theyre also triggerer by zombies, and I havent found out how to work around that yet. I wish there was a way to set a weight requirement for them to activate

    You need to increase the height of the opening for the garage door if you want the jeep to fit, yes I know it will leave an open space but its alot cheaper than the draw bridge.

    Capp, I figured out how to work the powered doors without having to use a camera. You run your power to a switch on the inside, then from the inside switch to the outside one. And from there to the door itself. As for driving the 4x4 inside, you need to use three of the 1/4 blocks. Something like this:
    (F = full block, Q = 1/4 block)
    F F F FF
    F qqq F
    F F
    F F
    The 1/4's are rotated to fit flush right under the upper Full ones, by doing this you get rid of the large opening at the top of the door.
    I know it looks weird like this with the letters. I hope this helps. If you need to, go to one of the radio relay tower stations. Look at how the gate is set up, that should help you visualize what I'm talking about.

    They need to add in logic gates. It'll solve the switch problem. And, or, not, xor. To fix this, you'd need a or gate switch. So that as long as one switch is on, the door will still function

    I sat in my base trying to get a motion sensor operated rolling 5x3 garage door to work so I could safely park inside my house after looting but never thought about connecting the sensors together. I ended just deciding that I would just end up driving my jeep off the roof of my house anyways. I do wander though if there is a way to have it activated by a motion sensor on one side, and a pressure plate on the other.

    I would love to see security cameras. Basic, ones that do sound, night vision and even beep when motions sensors pick something up.

    Here's an important question regards these powered doors: can you upgrade regular ones to powered ones? Or the only way is replacing regular ones with a new crafted powered one?

    Hey Capp00,
    I was wondering if you would do a video Alpha 18 (b138) about not being able to change ground blocks to be another kind of ground block.
    For example, go anywhere on the map, dig up or destroy some gravel or another ground block and then try to place a different type of ground block such as an asphalt or forrest ground block. You will see even though you are placing asphalt where the gravel once was, the ground still looks like gravel no matter what other kind of ground block you replace it with. This problem is true with all ground blocks, if you try to replace, Forrest ground, desert ground, destroyed stone, etc with with another block, the ground will always appear the same way it originally was.
    Maybe you could go to Diersville in Navezgane and show this off in a video. It’s something I hope the Fun Pimps fix soon.
    On a separate note, I am getting a rendering error in Gravestown where craters in the roads don’t display properly or appear invisible, especially next to the parking garage.
    If you know any fixes beyond, waiting for the next update, that would be appreciated.

      My asshole teammate tried to catapult me on top of our base. I ended up landing in our spike traps ._.
      The collison logic with the bridge seems kinda weird though when you do that kind of stuff

    Can you see if doors and garage doors rotate to be flat on ground? I have an idea on dealing with demolishers and still have a killing corridor just redesigned for new pathing

    Sadly this video misses one important fact. The 2nd camera is only powered for as long as the first camera provides power after sensing motion. We really need logic gates :)

    hey man great video i have a crazy idea is it possibe and im not quite far enough in the game to build them yet and im trying to get some advice i want to build sort of an underground base and use and have some kind of hatch open on motion sensors to come out so i guess the question is, is it possible to set a draw bridge horizontally instead of vertically?

    Can you build 2 garage doors on top of each other to accommodate the truck. Will it clip through the top one or will both have to be powered and if so, can it use the same motion sensors or will it need its own. also can the garage doors be laid down and made to be opening for ramp underground.

    Hello there, im doing the same thing. The garage door opens when i connect it to the motion sensor. It wont close down. The motion sensor works. It follow me. But it still wont work

    Is there any way to invert the current to where it loses power when your detected? I have a drawbridge setup I've really been excited to use but it requires the drawbridge to be down normally and lift up when i'm around, i've been messing around but I haven't been able to figure it out if it's even possible.

    I don't understand how this can work. When the duration of the fist camera ends the second one should not get powered anymore. It looks to me that opening the door from both sides only worked in this video because he was fast enough. Any explanations?

    the way i use doors , automatic would be completely useless and actually dangerous, because i depend on them to keep the zombs out. many a time i've been standing in front of a door, or close to the front of a door, shooting through bars to kill whats beating on said door.

      Yes, it works the same way and is big enough for the jeep to fit through just fine. I only showed off the smaller garage door being that way so people would know in advance.

      No not really. You could just use the industrial garage door. I had it in my inventory, but didn't show it off. It's bigger.

      There are camera settings that can allow or prevent those , based on preferences

      Well you can technically wire in electric lights inside a house. Just not the default ones you see.
