I've raised Dobermans , Boxers , and Rottweilers. Boxers are about the most fun dog that you could ever wish for. They're such characters , perfect for families , especially if you've got kids. Rottweilers are my favorite breed but dogs in general are awesome.
There is a saying that goes: "You've never been loved until you've been loved by a Boxer." I'd personally swap that with pit bull, but boxers are hard to beat as loving dogs.
I love that pitbulls are at the top of the list!!! They're incredibly vilified and mismanaged, as you said, but they are the sweetest, sweetest dogs. Thank you for spreading this information.
My akita is incredibly loyal and so attached to her family, she keeps everyone together in public and if one member goes in a store, she stands outside staring at the door until they come out. She’s very protective. Glad Akitas are on the list🐕🫶
Great Dane should have been near the top. I've owned 7 and will continue to own them because of their love and loyalty to their people. They will always choose their family over dogs - that's my definition of loyalty.
I have a Labrador Retriever and she acts like a protection dog. Short story: my mom stopped by a gas station to get some drinks for the road. We have weedeaters and blowers on the back of the truck and where we live, people tend to steal. My dog is on the back just chilling and something caught her attention. A guy walks up to her and tries to persuade her with a treat but she doesn’t take it. He tries to get her to move but she doesn’t budge. He tries to pet her, she snaps at his hand and barks to send him running. Now, I feel safe wherever I go with her now.
I've had standard poodles throughout my life, including taking in rescues - yeah, they probably won't be able to defend you, but then you listed labs. And what you said about pitbulls easily adapting to being "re-homed" certainly applies to standard poodles, and talk about being members of the family and great with kids.
@@tiffanydufrane3974 well all poodle teams have completed the Iditarod, but if I was into sledding I personally wouldn't be building a team of poodles. I'd certainly consider them if I was into duck hunting though.
Surprised the border collie isn't on the list. My border collie is the most loyal dog I've ever owned yet my Labrador would leave me in a heartbeat because she loves people so much.
My 11 month old bullmastiff is crazy loyal . He even chooses me over his food as mad as that sounds . If I put his dinner out for him and then stand up and leave the room when he starts to eat it , he will immediately abandon his food and follow me instead. I really am blessed with this dog tho , I've honestly never met another dog like him
My APBT is the most loyal and emotionally intelligent dog, they definitely deserve the top spot! Also, I think it’s great you’ve recognized Brittanys on this list. They are just an excellent choice for a house pet and underrated. More people should consider them when choosing a dog for their home.
I can vouch for the Dogo Argentino. You may move it up on your list if you owned one. I grew up with Rottweilers , I have had a boxer and currently have a GSD And a Dogo Argentino. I think the GSD would be one on my list. Solid list though. 🤙🏽
Great list! Yeah, I agree with number one. I've never had one before, but I have heard that they are extremely loyal. Like, I heard they are willing to give their life to their owners just because the owner asked them to for sport. I couldn't even imagine asking my dog to do that. There are literally people that are like " Hey, Sparky, go fight that bull. Hey, Spot, go fight that other dog until one of you can't go on anymore. You could lose your life, but do it anyway." My dog wouldn't even do it, and I don't blame her. Some people just do not deserve such loyalty. =.(
or they take their owners life: TECUMSEH, Okla. (KFOR) - A Tecumseh man was brutally mauled by his two pit bulls Wednesday morning. A 911 call to Pottawatomie County dispatch came in at 8:27 a.m. for an animal attack. Deputy Amber Soule was the closest to where the scene was reported and showed up less than eight minutes later. Once on scene, Deputy Soule said there were bystanders trying to render aid to the victim, but couldn’t exit their vehicle as the two dogs were “vicious.” There was a man outside the vehicle trying to keep the dogs away with a pitchfork as well, according to Deputy Soule. Everyone on scene warned Deputy Soule not to exit her vehicle, but she said she needed to begin treating the victim. As she stepped out of her car, one of the dogs began approaching her and was a mere few feet away. “It was barking at me. It got within just a few feet of me. I had to shoot it. It went down,” said Deputy Soule. However, the dog did get back up and ran off into nearby woods. Deputy Soule said the other dog mostly hid, but eventually jet off into the woods too. Once the scene was safe, Deputy Soule started to aid the victim with a tourniquet, but quickly realized she’d need more than that as the victim had already lost a lot of blood. “There was a white car there that was covered in blood. I grabbed my tourniquet kit and attempted to start trying to get a tourniquet or something to try to stop some bleeding,” added Deputy Soule. “There was blood everywhere. The whole car was pretty much covered, but there was blood along both cars where you could tell he was actively trying to get away from them, doing what he could to keep himself safe, but at that point, he had already been attacked pretty profusely.” The victim was going in and out of consciousness, but Deputy Soule was able to get his name, birth date, and information about what happened. “He didn’t really get to tell me much other than the dogs attacked him,” stated Deputy Soule. “It was unprovoked.” Based on pictures shown to News 4 which are too graphic to show, the victim’s arms are mangled. His muscle tissue is peaking through the wounds and his legs are also chewed up. The victim was airlifted to OU Health. “He has life threatening injuries and is in critical condition. He’s actually worsened since yesterday with the possibility of having surgeries,” said Deputy Soule. The victim’s family has not yet been alerted, so his identity has not been disclosed at this time. United Outreach Church Senior Pastor and friend of the victim, David Hanigar said the accident is “ironic” as the victim is a dog lover. “He (the victim) was contemplating how to take his own life but he didn’t because of his dogs,” said Pastor Hanigar. “He didn’t want to abandon them.” Pastor Hanigar said it’s going to be a real challenge for the victim and he’s heartbroken this has happened. Hanigar is hoping for a speedy recovery as he said the victim has been through a lot recently. Hanigar told KFOR his church may plan a fundraiser to raise money for the victim later on. The two dogs are black pit bulls, male and female. They have a white triangle on their chest. If you happen to encounter either dog, it’s recommended you do not approach either and call 911 immediately. The investigation is still ongoing as deputies are working on finding the dogs as well as getting more witness statements.

I love my Rottweiler and he is definitely loyal! But my two German Shepherds are top notch! I bought my daughter an outside pool this summer and when they saw her go under water they immediately jumped in to save her! She was upset because she loves swimming but with our two she cannot underwater swim peacefully 😂.. I never have to worry about her drowning, so I'm okay with them watching her.
Every owner, trainer or rescue worker all glamore over the Pitbul breed. So loving, loyal and eager to please. They just far often end up in the hands of criminal minded individuals who use them for bad things. Yes they play aggressive with dogs and people if not given leadership and social ability skills. My pick is the Rottweiler but I do see the love for the Pitbul breed ❤
It was d we decent review, very true about pitbull owned 3 and loyalty and family is absolutely true. My Rottweiler was loyal brave and always on guard towards family property and I slept knowing she was protecting me at all times. German Shepard I say mine was awesome my memories of her will always stay so true that I can't have another one because in a way it feels like am replacing her. They all are what's said, extremely family oriented loving loyal devoted and guarding towards the safety of there family.
Your love of Rottweilers is well known and in my opinion totally justified. Many dog breeds do certain things very well. For me the well bred Rottweiler is the best "all around" dog. Possessing the best attributes of what make dogs not only our partners but also family members.

I feared pit bulls until my APBT actually walked into my house and adopted me. It was a scary situation because we lived in a bad neighborhood full of vicious pit bulls. And he roared like a lion but it was at the food that I was cooking. Well, he never left and now I could not see myself being without him. What a sweet loving loyal dog. They call them Velcro dogs.
Mine came to me too and never left. I went outside one day and seen a pitbull standing beside my malamute/cho/golden retriever mix....and he's a big fighter and good at it...no I don't like it. The pit bull seen me. I'm still worried about a fight. The pitbull crawled to me on his belly...I think that he was showing he means no harm. He got to me and immediately started giving me dog kisses with that pitbull tongue..lol. He never left me after that. He did die young from being paralyzed at waist down. He was a lover..not a fighter. He was loved by the whole family. Sigh.

I’ve had an AmStaff that me and my wife rescued from the shelter about 12 years ago. She was just under a year old then, and she’s still in good shape. I just recently underwent Open Heart Surgery to replace a congenitally defective aortic valve and my girl stays by my side and sometimes lays on my feet, or very close to them to keep me in bed with her. She’s been the most loyal, loving, & fun dog I’ve ever owned. She’s my 5th rescue in my lifetime - I rescued 4 Great Danes through the years, but my Brandy tops them all.
Thank you for your well presented and informative video. My dog Happy was a pit bull black lab mix and she was the most Loyal Dog I have ever raised or met. It was as if she read my mind and somehow I could hear what she was saying as well through her eyes and body language and for all I know it was ESP. She was brilliant. The only flaw was she really did enjoy a good dog fight it was like a game to her so I had to stop her socializing unless it was a giant breed or a tiny breed. After seeing your video about dogs who can handle coyotes, I think I'll get a herding breed next which might help stop the dog fighting and still be a protection dog and companion dog for me.
I miss my Amstaff everyday, he was killed while protecting me. I have a huge scar from being stabbed but my soul hurts more from missing my Buddha Ali✌💙🐶
I have owned multiple breeds of dogs being a long time hog hunter from black mouth curs Catahoula leopard to breeds like German shepherds Belgain Malinois hound dogs walkers couldn’t name all the different hunting breed I have spent a lot of time or owned but a apbt has far been the most forgiving loyal and just won’t make do do anything to please it’s family and just won’t to be loved 🥰 a lot of dogs are very sensitive to mistakes in training and when working hogs or just day to day training the apbt is the best for me may not be the smartest but definitely the most loyal there are exceptions to every breed
I’ve had boxers, my boy just passed away. Boxers are loyal to an extent especially if it benefits them LOL. Great dogs he seemed to be more loyal to the couch than anything! Lol great dogs to have in the house
Really liked the list it’s hard to not fill it with mastiffs but I liked the variety and of course my dogo made it and the ode Velcro dogs have too always watching me.
Hey @Documentary TV you should do a documentary on the Lycan Sheppard breed. If you have I haven't came across it yet! Fairly new breed from what I understand.
we have an brindle pit bull mix who is extremely loyal and loves us and would protect us with every bit of strength she has, but i have to admit she loves her human Daddy more than her Mama, but that's okay she would defend either of us and we love her very much, she's our first dog and the best.....
Good work as always. However I would have had the Fila in that list as they are naturally super loyal and will protect their owners no matter the danger. But overall great work!
Nice list! My GF has a Pitbull-Rottweiler-Mix. The sweetest, most loving and most loyal Dog I have ever met. Only minor issue I've ever noticed with that dog is that she really is like a shadow around her people. You leave the room - she follows (so no privacy when you go to the bathroom). But she is getting better with that slowly as she matures. Still a big snuggle-baby.
I've been lucky in life to have had a lot of good dogs. My most loyal... #1. Boxer #2. Great Dane #3. Pitbull #4. Malamute #5. Central Asian Shepherd mix. I'm a HUGE LGB dog lover!
We have found English Shephards to be very loyal, smart and protective. We've had two and the personality is great. I also agree about the American Pittie, we have had several and I just can't say enough good about them, but they are not meant for passive people, they are far too stubborn .
Here in Toronto, Canada the Pitbull and certain pitbull related breeds are banned. It was my number #1 dog to get over the 10+ years I had been researching breeds. Perfect temperament, size, activity, everything. Then years ago they got banned. If I want to own one I’d have to live somewhere else. Maybe one day I’ll be able to own one. 😌😌 After all the breeds I’ve engaged over the years. My 2nd runner up is a GSD or Rottweiler. My childhood GSD live to 13.5. She was 94 lb silver sable. I loveeeed that dog. I’ve never owned a Rottie. They seem like amazing dogs, I’ve met some truly amazing specimens over the years.
I was surprised to see the Brittany on the list but then again, I don't know too much about them. It just goes to show that you take your work very serious and even if this may not be a dog a lot of us expected to see, if they belong on the list you have them here. BTW, great narrative on the Doberman and the story of Hachiko too. Thanks for educating the masses. Great job Z. 🙏👍
We have 4 pittie mixes at home and they truly are so amazing. My 100lb pitty/boxer/am staff mix is the smartest dog I've ever had. And I've fostered nearly two dozen dogs. He's also the most loving and loyal dog. He almost never leaves my side. They're definitely not for everyone, and there are better breeds for other people, this is just my personal favorite. However, my next dog is going to be a Bullmastiff. I need a little more discretion in my dogs affection.
You did forget one , and they are also one of the loyalest. Maybe little but ever bit of loyal as yours is the Chihuahua. Protect you with their life and by your side at all times so add them in there. More heart then you could count. Thanks 👍
It's clear from all your videos that you have a preference for large dogs. And I'd bet you never owned a dachshund. All my life I've had mini dachshunds and would never have another breed. Sweet, clever, great w/ children, and completely loyal & loving to their families. Having originally been bred to hunt & kill badgers (vicious critters), doxies are not afraid to take on anything that threatens their families. In fact, they'll give up their own lives to protect their owners. My current Doxie is Stretch Limousine (Limo), and he is absolutely precious!
Similar, staffy and pitbull are both extremely loyal. The only difference that I've noticed. Is that the pitbull does better being by itself. Staffys typically develop separation anxiety can't be left alone for very long. Otherwise they start chewing through everything.
I love the channel and have watched every episode. Could you please add other types of dogs I know you love the working dogs but it feels like we are seeing the same dog types in all of these types of videos. Great video, would have added poodles
They don't have that gene in them though. The fact of the matter is that they are bred for killing bulls in pits. They are the number one killer of their own family members, number one in killing humans and of course other animals. They were made for entertainment killing.
@@alexandrep4913 Hahaha bullshit! Just get some facts from dog professional temperament testing and you will swallow your bullshit statement. The more low life people get a certain breed the bigger the change that dog will do bad but it has nothing too do with the breed in general.
Man the herding group is slept on wayy too much. Blue Heeler (Australian cattle dog) border collie, collie, Australian shepherd. These are some of the most intelligent dogs for a reason! They are true blue loyal! I know a blueheeler who saved his owner from a 2500 pound bull!
Very surprised Australian Cattle Dog didnt make the list. They will walk through fire for their family. Would have definitely put them on the list over several of those other dogs
I know this is a big breed channel but many smaller ones are really the most loyal, you made this list thinking about self defence not loyalty, a lot of urban americans think like that... But yeah thats common knowing the channel... Also being from México, Xolos are super loyal too
I love that you put the APBT at the top of the list. I agree there is no breed more deserving of the spot. Thanks for continuing to put out the awesome content, you make it easy to refer people to your channel all the time.
The Rottweiler is a beautiful dog but I can't shake what I've seen with them wherever they've gotten into an altercation with another powerful dog breed or wildlife. In my experience since I was a child till this day they have always lost those altercations. They are good guard dogs in regards to defending you from another person though.
Awesome video. I have an APBT and i could not agree more she is so loving and loyal. It's a shame how they are vilified.

I have two. I couldn't ask for more loving and loyal dogs!

I have to say in my experience mastiffs are so bonded to their humans they would rather die than be without them.
Great list. I would add my girls to that list. Rhodesian Ridgebacks. They are super loyal and protective of our family.
american bullys are great loyal dogs never had any problemswith mine iver bred and raised them for yrs great loyal dogs if raised and trained right
Thank you for your well presented and informative video.
That's actually a pretty good list! That's actually a pretty good list!
Great list
😍
I’ve had boxers, my boy just passed away. Boxers are loyal to an extent especially if it benefits them LOL. Great dogs he seemed to be more loyal to the couch than anything! Lol great dogs to have in the house
Great video
Love your videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice line up 👍👍 👊😎🍺
Really liked the list it’s hard to not fill it with mastiffs but I liked the variety and of course my dogo made it and the ode Velcro dogs have too always watching me.
Dogs are stupid in their loyalty.
Signed, Cats
Hey @Documentary TV you should do a documentary on the Lycan Sheppard breed. If you have I haven't came across it yet! Fairly new breed from what I understand.
we have an brindle pit bull mix who is extremely loyal and loves us and would protect us with every bit of strength she has, but i have to admit she loves her human Daddy more than her Mama, but that's okay she would defend either of us and we love her very much, she's our first dog and the best.....
Doberman Pinscher💙💙
Great list. I read somewhere that the German Shepherd has won more heroism awards than all other dog breeds combined. Pitbulls are great dogs.
#1 APBT 🔥💯 love this breed (No other breed has ever lived and died for its owner like the APBT) facts.
Not a bad list. But you had too much Mal footage in the GSD listing.
I've been lucky in life to have had a lot of good dogs.
My most loyal...
#1. Boxer
#2. Great Dane
#3. Pitbull
#4. Malamute
#5. Central Asian Shepherd mix.
I'm a HUGE LGB dog lover!
Great list, but I think the Fila deserves to be in there too
Most loyal dog I've ever owned is the Presa Canario..! I've owned pit bulls (game bred), american bulldogs, shepherds, and akitas..!
Pitbulls just are number 1.
We have found English Shephards to be very loyal, smart and protective. We've had two and the personality is great. I also agree about the American Pittie, we have had several and I just can't say enough good about them, but they are not meant for passive people, they are far too stubborn .
I’m definitely surprised and kind of disappointed that cane Corso isn’t on the list
Exactly!
Pits are my guys... The love they have the drive and very intelligent. They will protect you till the death im sure of it.
Great analysis..maybe top 15 ? It’s hard . Can corso , middle eastern dogs ?
I was surprised to see the Brittany on the list but then again, I don't know too much about them. It just goes to show that you take your work very serious and even if this may not be a dog a lot of us expected to see, if they belong on the list you have them here. BTW, great narrative on the Doberman and the story of Hachiko too. Thanks for educating the masses. Great job Z. 🙏👍
The APBT is the most clingiest and most eager to please dog breed I've ever had.
Thanks 👍
Yep. Mine is like that. My shepherd mix would go home with anyone.
We have many breed's, including APBT, Mastiff's and Bandog's
Most dog's are extremely loyal, it would be interesting to see which are not
American Bully is on my top list.
Hi, please look into the breed called Rajapalayam , its found in the southern part of India, hope you get a chance to meet the breed
Surprised the dachshunds wasn’t on this list .
Will abandon for food? I love my dachshund but if it is me or the food, food wins!
The American bully and the Stafforsher bull Terrier. They are great dogs. There shair the same traits as the pit bull. They are soo loyal.
Well done 👏
It's clear from all your videos that you have a preference for large dogs. And I'd bet you never owned a dachshund. All my life I've had mini dachshunds and would never have another breed. Sweet, clever, great w/ children, and completely loyal & loving to their families. Having originally been bred to hunt & kill badgers (vicious critters), doxies are not afraid to take on anything that threatens their families. In fact, they'll give up their own lives to protect their owners. My current Doxie is Stretch Limousine (Limo), and he is absolutely precious!
#1 Blue Heeler
Awesome video Zeke. How would you compare the loyalty of a pit bull to a staffy bull or amstaff? Would you say they're similar in that way?
Similar, staffy and pitbull are both extremely loyal. The only difference that I've noticed. Is that the pitbull does better being by itself. Staffys typically develop separation anxiety can't be left alone for very long. Otherwise they start chewing through everything.
I love the channel and have watched every episode.
Could you please add other types of dogs
I know you love the working dogs but it feels like we are seeing the same dog types in all of these types of videos.
Great video, would have added poodles
I agree that the APBT is the most loving and loyal of any breed. Even to those who don’t deserve it.
Why is it the number one dog to kill and maul it’s owners?
I have had many dogs in my life of different breeds but none stole my heart more that the APBT. Such loving and loyal dog!
Cane Corsos are Velcro dogs. That are loving to their people and willing to protect at a moments notice. Apollo is 120 pounds of love and devotion.
What you described the Pitbull terrier as, seems the opposite of a loyal dog. It makes friends with everyone and can easily be rehomed??
I love the #1 choice. The breed isn't for me because they're so loving & versatile & I agree they are not aggressive towards people
Very surprised Australian Cattle Dog didnt make the list.
Also being from México, Xolos are super loyal too
I would think the American Staffordshire Terrier would be in here. On of the most loyal dog breeds by far especially with children.
I love that you put the APBT at the top of the list. I agree there is no breed more deserving of the spot. Thanks for continuing to put out the awesome content, you make it easy to refer people to your channel all the time.
Hell yeah! My Lil girls are number one! 😝
The South African Boerboel is a great loyal dog.
The Rottweiler is a beautiful dog but I can't shake what I've seen with them wherever they've gotten into an altercation with another powerful dog breed or wildlife. In my experience since I was a child till this day they have always lost those altercations. They are good guard dogs in regards to defending you from another person though.
I have a pit mastiff mix I rescued. He is 100 percent loyal…to the ball 😂
