The Last of Us is just my weekly crying hour at this point, they do not have to keep doing us like this. But honestly, it was a wonderful episode, I really appreciated that scene of Joel opening up. This game/series' focus on mental health is so well done.
Part 2 is not bad at all. I think some ppl don’t like it bc it didn’t happened the way they wanted it to but it’s still a phenomenal game and gets even more depressing than the first, if you can imagine that😭😭. The writers make very bold choices in the direction of the story for the 2nd one, which were great because it’s a story that interesting and keeps you on edge which is perfect for this kind of world. Don’t believe that mess of it not being good.
the red shirt with the long black sleeve underneath is the iconic Ellie outfit, but they've been wearing all the outfits in the game throughout the series.
Agreed. The people who didn't like it were either boring bigots, diehard fans of certain characters, or people too dumb to understand the theme and plot.
@@jubilantsleep I’ll be the first to admit that my impression of the game was clouded by the overwhelmingly biased reviews and analyses from RUclipsrs that had completely skewed views on the world and the game itself. I’m trying to finish the game myself as of recently.
I love Part II so much!!! I ugly cried, had butterflies in my stomach, screamed my lungs out, felt so much love and happiness. It was a rollercoaster of emotions! 😭❤️✨
this was on my top 3 favorite episodes so far! i loved tommy and it's so interesting that they chose to make him a dad for this adaptation. that was definitely not a plot point in the game so i wonder how that will go. i also love that joel's and ellie's relationship has developed so much. they see each other as family now and although it's so sweet it really makes you worry for what's to come for them.
Part 2 is awesome! There's a loud minority that deeply hated it, but most people loved it, and the critics praised it a bunch. It's a very complex story, and it made some gamers uncomfortable, but i think the nuance and empathy it demands from the player makes it incredible. I'm suuuper excited for future seasons! (A lot of the people who hate it didn't even play it and just review bombed it)
i loved part 2! definitely a roller coaster of emotions but an amazing game nonetheless. i once read a comment saying that "inclusivity" and "wokeness" ruined the game for them 💀 really makes you realize how stupid the people that hated it are. anything gay or women empowering is enough for them to hate on.
This is my favorite episode for the actor that plays Joel Pascal did a phenomenal job in the emotional scene when he finally tells Tommy everything😊 One most emotional scenes I ever seen from an actor in a long time that hasn't been in the business for very long😊 what a masterpiece of a scene
I’m pretty sure the “all of this could’ve been avoided if Joel used a different name” thing u saw was not referring to that scene, but to smth in part 2😭 PLEASE don’t look it up, u will get spoiled hard🙏
So if she will get spoiled for looking it up why are you even mentioning stuff from part 2 smh, that's not cool at all, you are just adding more confusion. Smh.
Not at all true - I LOVED episode 3, but part 2 was not for me at all. SPOILERS for game! After Joel was killed I lost ALL interest in the game. I didn't care about learning more about why etc., I just knew that the reason I loved the first game, which was obviously Ellie and Joel, was no longer a thing and so I had no reason at all to go on with it. If you still had an interest in the game after that it might be amazing, I wouldn't have a clue, but yeah... that is obviously because I have had no interest at all in finding out which is never ideal when it comes to story telling. I am interested in seeing if I will drop the show at that point as well, or if they will manage to do it in a way that doesn't shut down my interest in the story. After all they managed to make Bill a favorite character of mine despite me not liking him in the game, so... anything is possible I guess 😂
@@sarah4hp That is fair enough. But I think you are missing out. Figuring out these characters while playing the game for the first time is a truly unique experience that can only be done in that medium.
@@Blag_Cog But the point is that I have no interest in those characters or figuring them out. Maybe if it had been done differently I could have felt differently about it, but yeah... that is how they chose to do it, and that is the effect it had on me. If it will be the same in the show remains to be seen, but I don't see myself ever being interested in part 2 of the game.
**Spoilers** @@sarah4hp That's kind of the point of the game taking that risk. To make us feel that major loss. Too bad too many people couldn't push through to understand the theme.
the last of us part 2 has won like the most video game awards of all time, it’s still very divisive but great. there’s a large hatred towards it from a certain group of people with weird politics who’ll tell you it’s the worst thing ever made.
Part 2 is my favorite in the game series. It’s really an incredible work of art. IMO, it’s so much darker, complicated, and emotional than its predecessor. They make some bold storytelling decisions that weren’t favorable among some gamers. In my honest view, the worst thing a sequel can be is boring and uninspired. The Last of Us Part 2 was anything but that.
Oh Part 2 is the best single player gaming experience I've ever had.. And not only in gaming, in all media (Only thing close is Attack on Titan). It's dark and horribly depressing, but beyond amazing.. The people who disliked it, are the same people who hate the series for percieved politics. I'm excited for Owen and Abby!
I deadass played the game for weeks it was fun as hell. I just think the story felt non existent. They made the predictable decision to kill a “prominent” character and just had the other “character” seek revenge with the added part of humanizing the “villain”. It wasn’t bad it just felt directionless. it rewarded the villain for seeking revenge, but punished our character for seeking revenge. Which was weird but the gameplay was good so whatever.
Part 2 isn't bad so much as the story is EXTREMELY polarizing; people either love it or they hate it, there's no in-between. Can't say why without giving away major spoilers so I'll just leave it at that. Personally, I thought the story was good and it was definitely not expected//made you believe anything could happen. I'm intrigued to see how they do the second season, since it's been revealed that it will cover the second game. They've already started setting up some of those themes for season 2/part 2 in the show, as well. The argument scene between Joel and Ellie is a near shot-for-shot/line-for-line recreation of the game, and is one of the most pivotal/iconic moments in the entire game that sticks with everyone who has played it. Pedro and Bella nailed the delivery, the emotions, the tone, all of it so beautifully. There was a line in this episode that was added and was a BEAUTIFUL set-up/foreshadowing for the finale. I'm not going to say what it was or who said it, just that after you see the finale and you've processed, come back and watch this episode again. You'll know what I'm talking about. ;) The brakes have officially been cut and the next three episodes are about to be a runaway freight train of emotions, so make sure you have an abundance of tissues, a comfort snack and a pillow or stuffy to hold tight.
@@torijeri Left Behind is what I was referring to since timeline wise, that would be next. But yeah, I don't know how they'll manage to fit the rest of the game into the last few episodes when there was so much going on.

This is why this has been the only shooter video game that I like. There are so many video games out there where you can just turn off your feelings and become a killing machine, shooting and killing your way into getting better and better at such violence with no issues, but this game was different. It was created so that you feel remorse for killing, especially the NPCs you don't have to kill. (like most of the dogs) This world is still so far fetched but it to me allows me to feel the way I would feel if this were to really take place. For to many of us, life is worth something and to just kill with no remorse is not in any way desirable.
