It took me seeing some reactions to realize the purpose of the radio message being "Danger". that was Bill essentially leaving a message for Joel and Tess to come "help", but when they got there they'd find all the weapons and things they ever needed to protect themselves. It's Bill leaving behind for his "friends" what he could. And when Joel comes in, the door slams shut. Bill can finally go.
I swear this might be the most beautiful episode of television I've ever seen. The love story is SO compelling, and you said it perfectly about how the show sat in the moments. It never rushed, never was in a hurry to move on. It lingered in all the most perfect ways. Absolutely phenomenal.
I've been a fan of Nick Offerman's for years but never knew he had these kinds of chops for drama. Despite being an action fan this might be my favorite episode so far. I hope awards season shows him some love.
Not only do a lot of shows not show it - its even more true when it is two men who look like these men (don't get me wrong - both attractive men but not either lesbian characters shot for male gaze or stereotypical super fit and young gay men). As an older, squishier, bearded queer person I'm honestly struggling trying to think of something where people looked like this and it was portrayed as valid and loving.
I wish TV shows and movies will have more diversity both in physical appearance and personality and interest of queer folks because that is reality. We are all different.
To answer a few of your questions -you play as Joel for most of the game but there are small sections where you control Ellie. There’s also a small chapter where you fully play as her towards the end of the game. -the flour, sugar, etc being contaminated and getting people sick wasn’t in the game! I don’t think they ever explain how the outbreak started. This is all new lore. - Frank and Bill’s story is complete different. Joel and Ellie team up with Bill to find a car in his town to get to Tommy’s. On their way there, they end up going into a random house and find Frank’s dead body. He hung himself after getting bitten and leaves Bill a letter saying he’d rather be dead than spend another day with him, so safe to say their relationship wasn’t as sweet as it was portrayed in the show. We also don’t get any other backstory for either of them other than Joel mentioning Bill owed him a favor. This was definitely my favorite episode so far even though I was crying the whole way through. It makes me excited to see how they will keep changing things. The game was already pretty emotional and brutal but this show is definitely cranking it up and I love it.
In the game, their story is very different. Frank is already dead when you get there but Bill is still alive. After a FEDRA convoy arrived and were killed, Frank decided to leave Bill because he pretty much hated him by that point. He tried to go out and get some necessary car parts from the convoy and was bitten while doing so. He hung himself in a different house before he could turn and left a pretty awful letter for Bill that you find as you're exploring. Also their town is filled with infected, unlike this idyllic town the show Bill and Frank live in. I honestly liked this so much more and am really happy they changed it
At the end of the day we all want to feel and live out our lives the same way Bill & Frank did. With the ones we love and in our own terms. That is why this episode resonated with so many people. We all want to love & be loved.
In the game frank kills himself after being bitten after having a fight with bill he leaves a note after killing himself saying he blames and hate bill, this a way happier sad ending
Don’t need to apologies for crying, that was really fucking sad. It’s also the thing that makes this worth watching--genuine engagement with characters who are believable.

This episode is very different from the game but it is made better by it. In the game you just find out Frank got bit and hung himself and Bill is still alive living on his own depressed like. Very very minimal part of the story in game but they did amazing with this extension of it, REALLY showed Bills other side. Joel does not meet Frank in the game either,
The way the infection spread has not really been spoiled for you, I don't think. They alluded to that on the second episode at the beginning about the flour factory in that country overseas, where they grab that doctor from her lunch and took her to the lab. And remember in the first episode nobody ate anything with flour. No pancake mix, no cake, no biscuits.
Yeah I was just thinking about that. I think the lady got bitten by someone and then 14 other people didn't show up to work again so I figured that was one of the epicenters

Since you wanted to know the differences btwn the game and the show, they did this story differently and expanded it for the show. Masterpiece of an episode everybody did a beautiful job in this episode way better than the game version of Bill and Frank's story I prefer this over the game version The TV show versions way better❤
3:25, but that is the point - you are a grown woman with military training. Ellie is a kid with impulse control. I don't blame Joel for not handing her a gun. Maybe once he sees that she can handle herself he won't be as apprehensive.
So, I fucking LOVED this episode, as a queer person. Jessie Gender released a wonderful breakdown of Ep.3 from a queer perspective with Aranock. I cite this because they gave me the perfect way of articulating my thoughts. I highly recommend waatching it. But oof, I'm gonna tell you the story of the game. So, Bill and Frank (to a much lesser extent) are in the game, but their storyline is a lot different from this one. In it, Bill lives, and he's terribly sad because he lost Frank some time ago to suicide. Bill didn't grow like he did in this story - he remained a survivalist and utilitarian (and probably a far right conspiracy theorist) to the end, and Frank didn't have it. So, in the game, Ellie and Joel run across a body, hanging from a noose, we never see the face, and there's a crumpled-up suicide note to Bill. This is all we see of Frank in the game. Queer people made a stink about it, back in the day. So here comes this episode, and I (and apparently every other queer person who knows what happened in the game) was getting myself ready for a trainwreck of an episode that never came. They heard us. Holy shit, THEY HEARD US. They said, "Nah, we've already made this mistake. We're the kind of people who don't repeat mistakes. So now, get ready queer community, for something you've never seen before. A gay couple who will survive, grow, and age together, and dammit, they're gonna die, but they're gonna die peacefully." So that's fucking beautiful. And I love how it adds to the messages each individual episode communicates. Ep. 1 said, "HEY PAY ATTENTION, BECAUSE THERE'S STUFF THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE." Ep. 2 said, "But it might be too late now?" Ep. 3 said, to me, "Good thing we have you paying attention now, because even if we're in the deep end of shit now, you can still survive, and life will still be worth living." And that's wonderfully hopeful and beautiful.
In defense of the "Spoilers" - the hints about the flour/grain connection were in the first episode, and the prologue of the second kinda confirms it...
I’ve heard there are 6! Apparently there’s a bloating stage? But I’m not an expert at all so I’m just going off what the comments under my previous video were saying😭
Are those two phrases in the intro a philipino greeting or something? I've been wondering since I clicked on your first video. At first I assumed it was your name in a native language
Sorry ppl spoiled cause of apocalypse for u…its such a risk reading comments. Something big in part 2 (of video game) was spoiled for me in a comment and now im annoyed and not that excited for season 2.
Didn't enjoy this episode it completely deviated from the storyline and sure the series isn't going to be an absolute copy but this was a major change. It honestly felt like a waste of time. It really had nothing to do with the plot of the story they could've done far better.
You are dumb as shit mate, no offense. This relationship was VERY CLEARLY hinted at in the game already. Also Ellie is a lesbian in the game, so if you have an issue with homosexual relationships idek how you got through the game. How is the show woke? What a weirdo.
The fit is cute you lit look like a game avatar 🤌Was I the only one that was sus when Bill was playing the piano and Frank was just behind him like 😭😭 I am glad it had that outcome I think we also need a bit of romantic vibes among all the tension

Ep. 3 said, to me, "Good thing we have you paying attention now, because even if we're in the deep end of shit now, you can still survive, and life will still be worth living." And that's wonderfully hopeful and beautiful.
jessie is great
The flour thing wasn't a spoiler, it was a theory at the time. This info did not come from the game.
In defense of the "Spoilers" - the hints about the flour/grain connection were in the first episode, and the prologue of the second kinda confirms it...
There are six stages? I thought there were just three?
I’ve heard there are 6! Apparently there’s a bloating stage? But I’m not an expert at all so I’m just going off what the comments under my previous video were saying😭
Are those two phrases in the intro a philipino greeting or something? I've been wondering since I clicked on your first video. At first I assumed it was your name in a native language
Porra eu chorei muito nesse ep que nem um bebê foi a primeira vez que eu chorei vendo TLOU
Do nada a BR
@@LuizFelipe-ci3fr nós estamos em todos o lugares kkkkk
beautiful mon
This episode is 99% different from the game. The 1% is getting a working car at the end & the character names.
I loved this episode 😍
Sorry ppl spoiled cause of apocalypse for u…its such a risk reading comments. Something big in part 2 (of video game) was spoiled for me in a comment and now im annoyed and not that excited for season 2.
Better love story than Twilight.
Fun fact: originally therm zombie was someone controlled by something or someone

Didn't enjoy this episode it completely deviated from the storyline and sure the series isn't going to be an absolute copy but this was a major change. It honestly felt like a waste of time. It really had nothing to do with the plot of the story they could've done far better.
this show is so woke
You are dumb as shit mate, no offense. This relationship was VERY CLEARLY hinted at in the game already. Also Ellie is a lesbian in the game, so if you have an issue with homosexual relationships idek how you got through the game. How is the show woke? What a weirdo.
The fit is cute you lit look like a game avatar 🤌Was I the only one that was sus when Bill was playing the piano and Frank was just behind him like 😭😭 I am glad it had that outcome I think we also need a bit of romantic vibes among all the tension
