I’m 73. My first full time in the late sixties was in a leather shop. I made hundreds of bags in those styles. I used latigo as my primary leather and dying and wood burning. And yes, solid brass for all metal parts, including rivets. This brings back memories.
Memories. Takes me back in time. Love your videos…. I’m 75 y.o. & took up leather crafting as a hobby 4 years ago. Thanks for your inspirational videos. Regards from the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 ( in the middle of the Irish Sea 😊
Thank you for doing these, especially the one where you took one apart and made a new pattern for them. I ordered the pattern before christmas and made 6 as gifts. Everyone loved them and my mom cant stop showing hers off. lol
Two awesome things in this video: First, of course, that bag is simultaneously hippie and elegant at the same time. I love the juxtaposition. Second, that whale watch is totally badass.
Another gorgeous bag! I love how you always explain why you make certain design choices, whether it's for practicality or for looks! One day I'll get into leatherworking properly, but for now I'll just take inspiration and knowledge from your videos, thank you!
This bag is fantastic and I think I love everything about it! I've never tried my hand at a laced bag like this before, but I think it's time. What leather/weight did you use for this particular example? It seems like it's a perfect fit for it!
A great plan & video, thanks🙂 I’ve made the two lace constructed tote bag plans you offer and they made great gifts (and were a lot of fun to make). This is a very nice companion piece. 👍
Hello Eric, @CorterLeather , completely off topic and different from your usual material , but do you think it would be possible to teach us how to craft Leather Driving gloves with or without colored stitching and a attachment strap for the wrist ? I’ve been really wanting to created a pair myself and I’ve yet to find a tutorial or pattern , being that Corter is the sole reason I stumbled upon and took up leather crafting , I would love too see your take on driving gloves Eric… as always wishing you the best in business and life 🙌🏽
Great project, Eric! I always enjoy your videos and your designs. I will be purchasing your brass knife handle from BG in the near future. Also, I, as a working musician, would love to see what you come up with for adjustable instrument straps. Thanks!
LOVE this pattern and all of the little extra details you’ve worked into this one! Is it possible to add a second pattern that’s bigger? Similar to how Kayleena’s Laced Bag has two sizes? I like my bags big!😊
Great video's/blogs btw and I'm learning lots from you, so thank you - but when you do your cuts or punch out some leather washers like at 4:37, why don't you go closer to the edge of the leather or the previous hole so you use more of the leather for other things?
I would think after doing this work for over a decade he has enough scrap leather lying around so that he doesn't have to be to konservative with using it. Plus it maybe looks a little cleaner for the video? Just guessing tho 😀
This is a great design. In your opinion could you buck stitch this with deer lace etc and would it be strong enough? That way you could do 1 entire side panel with only 1 piece of lace?
I love this design Eric, I think it's one of your best yet. But for the love of all that's holy, buy yourself a decent pair of leather scissors, seeing you struggle with that pair is painful ;) I'm off to buy this pattern...
I have arthritis and have a difficult time burnishing and get frustrated. Do you know of a hand-held reasonably priced tool that I can use for it, or something I can attach to a Dremel tool that will work and not break? Great handbag! You do such a great job and creating things that are attractive and functional. 🙂
What is the best thickness of the leather for purses? I got a giant leather 2oz and was told that it is not the best. What can I make with 2oz. Leather? Can I double it up to use it for a purse? I'm trying to make a wood and leather purse for my daughter.
Hi Eric. I ordered this pattern on 1/12/2024, and I never got the download sent to me. I sent you an e-mail on 1/13/2024 regarding this, and today is 1/17/2024. Unfortunately, I haven't received it yet or gotten a response from my e-mail. Hopefully, you would make this right ASAP so that I could start my project. I've ordered patterns in the past and this hasn't happened all the other times I've ordered from you.

Old hippie girl here. I had that bag back in the 70's ! Thanks for the video. Also glad to hear the cat in the background. Change is hard.
Just got the download!! Thank you!!

Great job on the bag. It looks great
Loving this new design ❤❤❤❤
Chefs kiss my friend . Another great pattern Eric (insert slow clap here👏...👏...👏). Adding this to the line up for my bench.
I have made a few in this style , thanks for showing us a new way of doing it.

What weight leather did you use?
Corter didn't specify.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful
Great design!! Love this bag.
NICE ONE! Thanks for sharing.

Nice 😊
Ever made a guitar strap with designs, or pick pouches on it?

2oz will work for a purse just might be a bit floppy. Nothing stopping you doubling it up flesh to flesh for extra style points!
Hi, I've bought a wallet patern from your shop but couldn't download it. Can you help?
I enjoy watching your videos. Cute bag! Could also be for a man, couldn’t it?
just get it over with and become an employee of buckleguy
My order has not come through either. Still waiting. Been 3 days
looking into it! Something's wrong on the back end of the website, I"ll have it fixed asap

I had an issue with the website - check your email, you should have the download! :)
@@Corter Got it! Thank you.
Hippie leather? Aren't hippies kind of a dwindling resource?
