This is bloody awesome! I mean sure, I understand the concept, and it is not like reinventing the wheel, but it is just so well executed, and your comment about "just wanting to make something in an hour" hit the nail on the head! thanks!
I am glad to see we're getting the corter/buckleguy chisels! I am super happy that you guys are dedicated to making sure the product is right vs just slapping your name on something. You guys are awesome. keep up the good work!
I finally bought patterns including this one. I've been making a bunch of scrap buffalo hide pieces & am so excited to get into a bigger piece! Thanks to Nik from Hollows Leather for introducing me to y'all. Keep it up! I'm so excited!
Finally I am financially able to support you. I know it probably doesn’t make a dent but I hope that my small pattern purchase goes towards saying thank you for the amazing videos that have helped me through some dark times. Thanks again from Cape Town South Africa!!!
Thanks for all your videos. Because of you, I now have the leather stitching sorted, saddleback, stitches per cm etc. I'm now working on a prototype design for something of use to me. It is niche and if goes well, it will be for sale. I have double shoulder, 15 sq ft of veg tan, top grain leather to play with.
If you don't want the brass collar to split, then have the blade holder part thread onto a collar at the opposite end. That's how I made mine and it's lasted 4 years now with heavy use.
Special tools for special work is totally worth the wait. I’m so glad you guys are taking the time to get them RIGHT. Super excited to get that knife in my hand eventually. Hopefully my skills will be able to do it justice at that point. Also, THANK YOU. Not only have you guys made all this everyday knowledge about leather working super accessible to all of us, but now you’re also providing us with access to great tools to aide us as we grow our skills. I really can’t thank you enough. ☺️
Thank you so much for showing us the Laced bag! I am excited to make this now; Also excited for the leather tools. :) Hope you have a happy holiday season and a great New Year :)
Been on Google dive into "Coal Bags" now 😅 pretty interesting history - beginning in the navy it seems and as such being made out of canvas with leather handles. Can't wait to make one! 😁 I definitely like making bags more than wallets
Awesome! Bought the pattern 👍 For the straps, you didn't mention the width (looks like 3/4"?), or the thickness of the leather, looks like it's thicker than the bag. For putting the side together it kind of jumps too, I think I can figure out where to start. Thanks for doing that you do! Happy holidays 🎄
Read the instructions, it mention 3/4"-1" width handles. Shoulda started there. Had a cut off from a belt project worked out well. Bags done, pretty fun build!
love love love your work. I am buying this pattern. I want to know about the knots. You mentioned you could literally cut them off once it's dry. Can I? I don't like the idea of the knot impeding the lining of the bag. Just want to be sure before I do. Also, would love to see the long strap option... I am knew to leatherwork. (sorry, probably pretty obvious to you)
What a wonderful video. Thank you for all the pointers. Was wondering if you figured out the basic cost of one of these bags ? I know it is just a guideline LOL
Our Eagle Scout son loves leatherworking (first started with it in Scouts years ago) but he gets frustrated with rivets and grommets. We can’t yet get him and fancy machine yet so can you please recommend a manual tool and quality rivets/grommets that work well? Amazon is not an option as it seems many of their leatherworking supplies I’ve bought for him end up being junk, which rightfully adds to the frustration. Thanks so much! PS- brass [colour] is fine but he also likes other colours of metal such as silver and gunmetal.
I just finished the bag. It is beautiful. Great pattern but one question. When I did my sides, I started like you did in the video. My knot was on the inside of the bag, however my lace came out of the top hole from the inside of the bag, ending on the outside. I thought the knot should have ended inside the bag. Did I make a mistake somewhere along the line?
Can you tell me the size of the leather I need for each side and the size of the punch? That way I know way I can calculate the cost and figure out what to get before buying the pattern.
Bought this pattern a month ago planning on making it from 2.8mm buttero leather I'm wondering whether to bother burnishing the edges of the leather lace or would be going too far any advice would be greatly appreciated
Just FYI, i think content creators should know, when RUclips tries to force me to watch long ads in the middle of a video, i will close it. Especially when the ads are scams and lies.

Nick's been a good leather working buddy for over a decade now, what a great guy :) So happy you're dipping you're toes into the craft!

Excited to see the tools update. I've been keeping an eye out for them.
I know you're super busy, glad to see that coming back around.
Congratulations on your new tools!!! How exciting!!
I love this design! Looks super sturdy. I think it's definitely worth making of thicker leather. My list of future projects just got longer again😅
Have a good Christmas and keep the good work up

Another great pattern - now shopping for a nice leather of leather to make it!

Been waiting for the chisels, hopefully will get them this month!
This is beautiful! Money is tight so I can't support the channel by purchasing at the moment, but I will in the future! Merry Christmas!
Awesome news, and great project! I will be watching for the tools..
Watched the video. Got the pattern. Made the bag. Already have a couple of orders. Love this bag. Easy to make and looks great. Thanks so much.
Your selling his pattern? Is that fine in the leathercraft world
@@Ryan-fosho No. I'm not selling his pattern. Read my comment. It's pretty clear.
Step 1: Purchase pattern (DONE)
Step 2: Grab a coffee
Step 3: Watch RUclips Video
😊👍🏽

Corter Pounder…brilliant name!
I just today finished the hippie bag!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
well, now I know what I'm saving my Christmas money for!
I can’t wait for the Corter Pounder hammer to come out! I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw one a little over a year ago! Thanks!
This was bag that got me here and stayed as an avid fan.
I am so making this bag at some point!!!!
So cool

Nice bag!
Finally!
a braided leather lace could be a cool thing to use for this project. be an extra unique detail.
So Cool
Thanks!

MUY bella 💖
How long of a lace piece should you use ?
I am also wondering. I’m thinking maybe the length of the side + 4 inches to be safe lol
@Corter, Will the a 2 sqft panel linked have sufficient material to make the bag, including the handles and lace?
What a wonderful video. Thank you for all the pointers. Was wondering if you figured out the basic cost of one of these bags ? I know it is just a guideline LOL
Would this bag work with a softer leather? Thanks!
Bought the pattern how long are the pieces of lace ?

Love this tote. Hey question whatever happened to the pattern book from a few years ago, is that still going to be a thing or did I miss it somewhere?

so inspired by your work can we buy these patterns?
What is the spacing on the stitching chisels
Could this be done with Kodiak Oil Tanned leather? I was thinking making a haversack based on this design. An awesome design!
Can you tell me the size of the leather I need for each side and the size of the punch?

This is the bag I am looking for but I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for an inner pocket. Thank you in advance.
Where can I get the 1/4 in oval hole punch?
Hi, guys! Is 5 oz chrome tanned leather fine for this project? Thanks
How to buy ? I badly need one
Can we please please get a backpack pattern?!?! 🤞
What thickness is the leather?
I think laced is easier than sewn, from what your videos show. But… how do you make such even leather strips?!
can anyone say about what size each piece of leather is?
WEIGHT OR ACTUAL measurments?
@@Cj032188 I think they mean both like the handle strap width and weight looked different from the bag?
@@Cj032188 as in: youd need two pieces of leather __ x ___ inches to make this bag
I just want a sticker...
Every time I see "and cloth" I wonder why that's part of your name. Sail cloth?
We make tshirts from time to time :)
Seriously? The "Corter Pounder?" Booo. lol. Seriously though. That is great. I think I need one on principle.
On Cape Cod? There is zero part of you that previously lead me to believe you were just over the bridges....

right half of pattern {bottom right top right} do not match up to left half of pattern. What a slip shod deal
