The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5N Performance is a BEAST into an all electric EV car!!. 💪🏼😎
Watching this in my ‘24 Ioniq 6. Way to go Hyundai. Love their EVs
Ryan out here living the dream!
Only thing i can say is that if its gonna be an ev, embrace the slient hum of an electric motor. No need to pretend its an ICE.
I admire how you coordinate your T-shirt with the car you're reviewing.
I thought he wore it was because the track used to be called “Mazda Raceway”, but I love it nonetheless. I have a similar shirt with an NB
ahhh 9:28 ... that descent! i drove that thousands of times in Gran Turismo 1,2,3 when i was a kid. it's totally fried onto my memory!!!
U R HAVING TO MUCH FUN....
Can't wait when You take it on yours off road course. Great episode. Greetings
Best day at work ever or what Ryan? Nice!
looks much better than ANY telsa
to a child maybe
@@henryyiu618 What are you? LEU? LIU? LOOLLLL? A spy for the People Liberation Army?
@@willr1796 huh? are you a Russian spy?
Absolutely reasonable price for so unique sport EV. Probably second after 911 EV but much cheaper. ✌️
best on RUclips, cheers from Brazil!
EV at a racetrack is surprisingly cool
Fun video.
No forestry road today...I guess the track will do!
Seems like an amazing car, my only real question is who is the target audience for this? It clearly can’t be young people because lord knows we don’t have 70K sitting around. Older buyers typically have a dedicated track and daily driver, so they wouldn’t need this car that does both. Once again super cool car just don’t understand who’s buying it.
I would love to have this car, but at 70k it's way out of my price range unfortunately. Perhaps I can buy a slightly used one in the future.
I’m 34 I’d buy it. Seems like it beats the competition
It’s for me. I don’t care about your demographics.
@@JohnLee-db9zt that’s wonderful that you want it, but Hyundai needs to make a profit. I’m concerned they won’t make a profit and will stop making fun cars like this. Every car doesn’t need to fit fit everyone I just hope that this car sells well and that’s what I’m concerned about
Car enthusiasts will buy it
That's the kind of modification I am waiting Subaru to do to its its e-STI.
Would you compare this to BBW 3 M50?
@5:05 was that a "Doug Demuro" moment? 😆
I have a house nearby, welcome to Monterey!!
Tires are super important
$60K Canadian to replace battery even if it’s not directly impacted, but the shell is. BS.
Nice Ride for sure! Would love to know how this would compare against the new Tesla Model 3 Performance. I will say this though, it is very silly to pipe in fake ICE car sounds into an EV. Great review as always.
This is not a fake sound transplant, but a simulation of the 4-cylinder 8-speed DCT of N Motorsports' Avante N. This is a feature requested by N TCR and WRC racers and is actually needed on the circuit. You can find out for yourself by driving an electric car on a circuit.
Is this a $90k car after dealer market adjustment? Typically ICE halo cars hold/ increase value over the years. I don’t imagine that will ever be the case with EV, since the tech will keep advancing. So the days of the original owner hoping to do ok financially on a halo car are over.
Are you saying you want a solterra sti?
If I would buy an EV today, it would be a Hyundai Ioniq 5. My electric provider, National Grid is too expense, $0.33/Kwh.
This track is in real race 3
Because it’s a legendary track.
Lots of people on here crying saying the car won't sell and it's too expensive. It's not for everyone obviously, when they made this vehicle they took all of that into consideration. Many people who want lots of hp will now second guess themselves spending over $100k when you can get something for a lot less especially if you trade it in your other vehicle it'll bring price down. Not to mention it'll depreciate in few years like EV6 GT and you'll have even cheaper track machine with power that will put many to shame
Again, most people don't track their cars.. well over 90% of Porsche 911's never see a racetrack. They go from the garage to cars and coffee and then back to the garage.
@@TheMadmax0609 lmao if you can't afford it just say it. Lots of people already purchased it and enjoying it, some will actually take it to the track. With a trade in if you have pos equity it's gonna be even lower than whatever the price is going for rn not to mention it'll depreciate in few years and will be even more affordable, stop crying
@@i.d.6492 dude I drive a Plaid Model S and I have a P100D Model S. I kept my P100D because it has a sunroof.
You wanted to know why they weren't going to sell well, I told you.
@@TheMadmax0609 they weren't going to sell? I've already seen so many owners in the Ioniq 5N group chat on Facebook, what are you smoking 🤡. Why did you buy Model S plaid instead of Regular model S? Exactly why others will chose ioniq 5N over regular Ioniq and other vehicles. It's literally a common sense. Plus US isn't the only market buddy, it's literally sold all over the world and in Europe they actually prefer hatchbacks over most other sizes
With enough power even a car that weighs 5,000 lbs can be fast. I predict that they’re not going to sell very many at 75k with tax and delivery.
On previous models they had problems with the brake lights not coming on till the vehicle was almost fully stopped. Have they fixed that problem?
You misunderstood a lot. EVs have regenerative braking, that slows down the car, the brake lights don't come on because driver is not hitting the actual brakes. They needed to program brake lights based on deceleration.
@@ruturaj47 so the brake lights are a safety feature designed to warm the driver behind them. Are you telling me that safety feature is not needed on EV'S
@@macdaddykwm1 no, that's not what I said. First, read your original comment. What I said is, brake lights do come on when actually brakes are used, they didn't come when regen was being used. I didn't say anything on if they should or not. I do think they should, either your understanding was wrong or your phrasing was wrong. I am in a manual car, when I do rev match and use engine braking to slow down, lights don't come on either even when car is decelerating, it's not EV only problem.
@@ruturaj47 I understand the issue of coasting and allowing a vehicle to slow using the transmission. However, depending on how fast the car slows down during regenerative braking, I think the brake lights should come on sooner than close to a complete stop. So to rephrase my original comment, have they changed the deceleration rate at which the brake lights are activated so the brake lights can warn the driver of the car behind the EV? After all, that's the reason for having brake lights.
The problem has been resolved in the new Ionic 5pe version.
Best racing washing machine!)
You nean slow-baru?
>>>> GOOD
I love it....but..and the range????
Do you complain about the BMW M3's fuel mileage?
@@TJDST4 both....
@@TJDST4its not the same thing and I posted the reason on another comment you left
@mattbrew11 and your "reason" in that other post was also BS.
@@TJDST4 I just filled up at a supercharger in norcal that was $.68/kWh. I get it free forever but the average consumer would pay $61 for the full range on a Y at that cost. Hows that math looking genius?
Calling it the "electric subaru sti" is a disgrace to huyndai engennering team
Lmfao 70k?!
No comparison. Better than STI
Awesome and I'm not a fan of electric cars but that is cool!
Nobody mentions the range on this car for some reason. 220 miles but I imagine the real world range is closer to 190 miles
I get real world range in my ev6 gt 252 easy back roads and highway
Nobody complains about the poor fuel mileage of the M3.
So why complain about it with this car?
It’s a track day. Mileage is not really relevant when booking at 120.
275 section Pirelli P Zeros are range killers. And yet they still chose to use them for handling.
@@TJDST45 minute refills with gas is the reason and public charging costs just as much to fill up “fast” in lots of places. And I say that as someone who owns a multi state solar and DCFC installation business
Not many performance electric cars that are dialed in feeling. I find the Model 3 Performance to be a car designed by computer programmers vs driving enthusiasts. Plus Elon creep factor and money he earns goes to weird brain implants and AI, an even more creepy combo. Mach E GT nice but this seemsba different level.
For 68k you wouldnt catch me ever owning a hyundai.
Just dont look up Louis Rossmann vids about this car...
Were the issues with battery replacement costs resolved?
Nope still $60K
As soon as you gave the price....I changed the channel!......but I'm only gone until the next review! LOL!
Bye
Sounds awesome if it had an ICE.
225
Subaru?
I can buy a trd pro for that price, no thanks.
When he says "price isn’t bad, $67,000.00 dollars". Is he drunk? This trend of car prices gas or EV, are way out of control and not for the everyday average USA citizens.
Price isn’t bad for the level of performance. It is a very unique car to be sure.
Electric cars are the physical embodiment of "let them eat cake"
No Subaru, please don’t make something like this. Please please don’t do it
$13k more than a model 3. Styling is much cooler but that's a very significant premium to pay for a negligible difference in real world street performance. Perhaps it's better on the track but how many people are regularly doing that with their 5k lb EV. I guess the drift modes are a neat party trick, but I don't imagine this selling particularly well.
I don’t think they plan on it selling well. It’s a niche offering.
I'd pay $13k to not buy a car from the Musk.
Its not owned by a ketamine abusing bigot though and also not locker into the tesla software ecosystem
compair model 3? lol 🤣
Cool and impressive car, but overpriced unfortunately. Was not expecting that $67k msrp plus whatever the dealers are gonna mark them up.
Overpriced compared to what?
Pretty sweet car. Love the looks, but then again I have a weakness for hatchbacks. Obviously very fast, probably handles really well but….this may or may not be an unpopular opinion…it’s not a performance car…electric cars never will be. At least not in the visceral, growling, rumbling traditional sense. Probably showing my age but to me a race car burns fuel, has an exhaust that you not only hear and feel, but that you smell. Going to races one of my favorite things is the smell. A performance car engages all the senses without needing to simulate those stimuli. An example some viewers of this channel might identify with is a Ferrari V8 powered wrx like the one running ARA currently. I get it…save the planet and whatnot…but for me at least once we go down this road with performance cars, racing will never be the same.
Dear Hyundai designers! Please get rid of that diagonal line across the doors! Perfect proportions, striking design! But that stupid line is not needed there!!!
$70k Hyundai 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nope, electric. Came here to give it a thumbs down lol. At least be some kind of hybrid.
So this is 70K$. In the well-equipped BMW ballpark.
Problem is: this screams younger audience design. But not a kid will have 70k in the bank account. If said kid does, he’s probably a little brat and will steer towards Tesla to flash his dad’s wallet.
I predict abysmal sales, no matter how good this is.
massively overpriced 👎
Says you.
Says u stupid
Show me 640hp car fully loaded for this price
And you sound massively broke
If there was a BMW badge on it would it be okay then? If so, just shows how some of these companies have people brainwashed.
no Kim Jong-un
A electric car is more expensive than a normal car , but it has its advantages.
Cool and impressive car, but overpriced unfortunately. Was not expecting that $67k msrp plus whatever the dealers are gonna mark them up.
There are a ton of dealers that dont do markups and I just ordered 40 ford lightnings for $8800 below msrp
@mattbrew11 in what world do the economics of a corporation buying more than 3-dozen fleet vehicles from a manufacturer have in common with an "average consumer" trying to purchase a single car?
@@TJDST4 I could name off 50 ford dealerships right now doing the same for people off the street. DEALers make deals. For people with intestinal fortitude and above 110 IQ they can be tremendously beneficial
Dealers can only mark up cars that are in high demand in short supply so I don't know if that's an option on this. And they can only mark up cars that are in short supply in high demand if they can find morons that will allow themselves to be disrespected and ripped off.
