People on comment section are saying 'design looks inspired by DeLorean' but what's funny is, as a matter of fact, it was DeLorean that was inspired by the original Pony Coupe concept car, the car that N Vision 74 is based on. Pony Coupe was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, and it was revealed to the public in Torino motor show in 19'74'. 74 that gave a name to this car. However, at that time, Hyundai didn't see commercial possibility of Pony Coupe, so it remained to be a concept car, nothing more. In that same motor show, was the founder of DeLorean, John DeLorean. He saw this concept car and called the Giugiaro. He literally told him to design another sports car that looks like Pony Coupe. That's how the DeLorean was born. So yes, this N Vision 74 is based on the original of the original. Interesting facts.

Hyundai have been making concept cars for the last few years, that become actual cars with next to no changes. Only addition needed is a numberplate and a few small things to make it road legal.
So long as the front end meets pedestrian impact, and headlight standards, then it probably could be production ready. What I'm not sure about is the Fuel Cell system. I don't see that making it to production and it would be battery EV only.

If there was a turbocharged V8 etc... I'd take out a loan and buy one in an instant if Hyundai decides to take this into production.
Never would i have thought that out of all the car manufacturers it would be hyundai to be the ones that do electric sports cars/race cars right. Shifting and engine noise is such an important reference for how fast you are going when on the track. Without it you have to check the speedometer to see how fast you are going, but with audio feedback you can keep your eyes on the road and know approximately how fast you are going. And that Vision 74 is just such an incredibly gorgeous car, i absolutely hope they make a road car version of it and because this race version looks so good, please also make a racing series out of it. Kinda reminds me of the BMW M1 Procar, and that was awesome
I disagree. An experienced racer can sense how fast they are going. The average joe obviously can't because they've hardly ever gone over the speed limit.
@@Cardiakk I disagree. The man doing the video is clearly very good at what he’s doing. And he said that it benefits him. He’s able to control the drivetrain and that’s very important in race cars

Actually it is kinda makes sense in car maker market. Historically speaking, in order to push the car making technology, the only way to do it is by focusing in engineering, when a car is well engineered, chances are the fan would like to make the most out of it by using aftermarket stuff, and with that the manufacturer support that too, the relationship goes mutually. Seeing the history of hyundai, we know that it might be one of the big car manufacture that for some reason ( correct me if im wrong here) didnt have a stake in racing, you might be thinking there are no correlation between big car manufacture and racing, but in more way than one, racing will always about pushing the technology and engineering to the limit, so when a car manufacture win a specific racing, you could correlate like this : X brand wins le mans 2022, it must be because they make the car so well engineered!. And in many sector, hyundai cant beat car racing in conventional one, but electric racing car is still up for to take, we know that the current market still on tesla, but as much we like it, tesla might not win if you compare it by company size, and it seems hyundai know that
As an Audi fanboy and German car fan in general I can't believe there would be a day where I would give up my Audi for a Hyundai. Both Hyundai and Kia are killing it in terms of design, innovation, tech, power, etc. I would take that Hyundai N Vision 74 over pretty much any car right now.
Finally someone that sees it. I feel like Hyundai and Audi have been swapping design languages lately. If it continues I’m selling my s3 for the next Hyundai electric with a sub 4sec 0-60.
Build the 74, build the 74, build the 74. I'm Korean and I've been selling tuning parts and accessories for Korean cars for over 20 years and these two cars literally bring tears to my eyes. I think the 74 really has the potential to be a massive gamechanger for Hyundai, I really hope they build it.
I’ll give Korea props for creating this car. This looks so damn good for a concept in real life. Not a lot of concept cars can achieve the same level of appeal because in reality they look too futuristic or just ugly. If Kia and Hyundai continues with this level of ingenuity, it will correct a lot of their wrongs during the 90s to 2000s. I’d say this is their redemption.
I test drove a number of SUV’s back in 2018, Mazda CX9, Ford Explorer, various Toyotas, right through to AUDI’s. All brand new from the dealership. I really hope the future of the sports car looks like this. Just amazing. Hyundai has been killing it across the board in large scale manufacturing good job to the team at large.
It's an interesting aesthetic: the 'futuristic' look. It was very popular in the 80's; think Star Wars and Delorean DMC-12's. Manufacturers are always trying to stay ahead of the curb and believe that their product represents the future, but a futuristic aesthetic blatantly attempts to be ahead of it's own time. In retrospect, futuristic fashions often look ridiculous because what people imagine about the future is always based in the present. Over the past decade the only cars that I like enough enough to buy brand new at full MSRP are the Toyota 86, Nissan Z, and this.
their cars are still shit. theyre manufactured as cheap as possible. their motors do not last as well as their trannies. but this istn just hyundai, its across the board on all mass manufacturers, esp with a cvt auto.

I am more excited about these cars than I am about any upcoming hypercar. The Vision 74 looks INCREDIBLE, and what really got me excited about the RN22e is that simulated gear shift and that sound. The idea of using engine braking to simulate shifting in an instantaneous way is GENIUS. And listen to that thing, it sounds like it's climbing up a rev range just like an engine, but with that high pitch electric power whine instead, which I think is really cool. I cannot wait to see these things come to production.

From S. Korea here, Korea is investing a ton of money into hydrogen tech. There are already commercial and consumer cars on the road using hydrogen fuel cells. They have also been building up hydrogen fuel stations and fast charge stations all over, especially the areas between cities at rest stops along the interstates over the past year. I think in a couple of years there are going to be a lot more hydrogen based EV models revealed as Hyundai and Kia have both pledged to leave out of petrol by 2035 entirely and are currently retooling their factory and robotic production lines.
Emissions wise it sounds incredible.. based on dwindling water supply.. it's not feasible for large scale.. electric/hydrogen?. I think quartz compression is where the power is.. Quartz is abundant.

I ask you to consider the following, please _[use your mind as prime lead, not emotions]_ ; the push for EVs is a NWO agenda, they will be able to shut off your car remotely if you do not pay your bills, so there will be no more escape, you will be catalogued, monitored, tracked, databased so you are a red dot 24/7 on their radar = no more privacy, they will be able to micro-tax you now because your car will via wirless how much energy you are using or they can stop your car remotely for anything they wish etc and thus we will be under such a technocratic feudalist invisible prison unlike ever before in history, and it will be called "Freedom." We are being so beguiled.. and so many on this page prove they are not intelligent enough to discern they are being beguiled into attaching the chains to their own ankles.
It would be actually cool if this was interpreted by the system in a car what the driver is intending to do next. If it has no sensors to see that there is a turn or the data it's getting isn't clear, the paddle shifting could inform the "AI" that it has to prepare the drive systems for a turn, or for overtake etc. It could help on technical, performance level, not only psychologically/UX wise I think.
I never expected Hyundai to kick ass of the all legendary car manufacturers. Amazing work just stunning. This is not typical car manufacturing of these days with copy paste ideas from competitors. This is a piece of art really.

As a german car enthusiast, I think Hyundai and Kia are currently on of the best car makers in the world. And it all started when I first was a passenger in my friends Kia Ceed. Then a couple of sports coupes and for me they'd be the absolute number 1. Damn I became such a fanboy for them :D

Yeah hydrocars wont work. The reason why all new hydrocars have been kept as concepts. If this car releases, it will prob be 100% EV. Hydro hybrids are so stupid, converting electricity to hydrogen (electrolysis, very expensive) back to electricity instead of an EV, sending direct electricity. Hydros are inefficient, only 20% of it is converted into electricity, the rest turns into water. Hydrogen is very dangerous too, it comes in contact with oxygen, it will explode. So if you're in an accident, very dangerous. There's a lack of infrastructure too, only around 60 stations worldwide, and to fill it up, it costs an average of 80$ (Bc of electrolysis). Compared to (2017) gas prices (2-3 per gallon) or current electricity prices (0-15$).
All of it is bullshit: conversion of hydrogen to energy is actually when the hydrogen comes into contact with oxygen; hydrogen has the highest energy capacity of any fuel so it's not that inefficient; the cost of hydrogen per kg is 7.2€ so to fill up the tank you need 35€

The vision 74 is drop-dead gorgeous. The last time I love a car so much was the introduction of the 5th gen Chevy Camaro when it was just a concept and its now my current car. If it goes into production it will definitely be on my Radar
5th gen camaro designer designed this one too.
Camaros are hideous lmao
Get your eyes checked.
In contrast to the fraudulent situation with Toyota, Hyundai has been consistently introducing high-quality products that are well-aligned with the demands of the contemporary market.
My wife has a 2022 Kia Stinger GT2, its truly an amazing car South Korea is on their game. Now I hate to say these electric concept cars look like something that can join my garage, they seem to have more character than a Tesla Model S. Actually excited to see what can come to production.
EV not equal to green.
when the 74 comes out, regardless of price, im gonna find a way to afford it, absolutely stunning
It’s going to be 100k+ for sure so it’ll be pricey. One day I would love to own one as well when I can afford it. Good luck 👍🏽
I could sell a kidney
This car 1,000,000% will never be made. It especially won’t run off hydrogen.
@@chapman6953 one can hope that is not true

The N-vision 74 looks sooo good! If Hyundai doesn’t bring it into production, it’s going to be a huge missed opportunity. I just want to see this bad boy out on the streets.
Ion know about a missed opportunity, The market for a vechile like the N-vision isn't (most likely) that big mainly because of the potential price which will realistically be over 300k.
@@malibu3219 Let's start with the esthetics and design then, fuel cells can wait. We need EV's looking like this, not like all the numerous clown cars.
@@nanotech2080 yes I agree I think basic electric vechile such as teslas look putrid. But when it comes to the design of a car the more demand for that said vechile creates a larger price which means the average person will not be able to purchase the said electric vechile.
@@malibu3219 Of course, but let's be honest - people have been waiting in lines for teslas since day 1 anyway, I don't think this would change much. They just went with the safe bet, and it will take someone like hyundai to finally shift the design of cars in the coming decade. Furthermore, high demand for a model should always be something a car manufacturer strives for, so I see no cons here. As someone whos been driving german cars (audis and bmw's) and couldn't care less for other, this hyundai actually makes me want to sell and get something like this 0 questions asked.
Hyundai is Game Changer.
Gunna admit, this is the nicest car I've ever seen. It perfectly fits with my fantasy of cyberpunk / retro/future ideal. Big time jealous but I have a feeling this will never see the light of day. It's too far out for mainstream.
Screw the mainstream. Cars these days have literally no personality at all, smooth, aerodynamic and lifeless. This screams fun! Hop in me and come for a thrill of a drive kinda fun! 😎

DeLorean.
It looks absolutely incredible to me. My favorite looking car on the planet right now. That said I'm 40 and born in the 80's. I wonder what younger generations think of this.
I am in my 20’s. I absolutely love the design of both cars in the video. I’m exited for Hyundai’s future.
I'm 16 and this is an absolute piece of art. We should absolutely work on modernizing the unique designs of old instead of making every single car look like every single car which is what I feel like we're doing right now
I think this is one of those cars that any age would find it good looking, Hyundai somehow blended retro and futuristic looks together well
I’m 2 and love the design! 👶
I'm 23, N vision 74 looks amazing. Especially those pixelated lights.
There is no car ive seen that looks even remotely better. My god man, Retro cars need to make a comeback. 80s ruled.
Personally... I don't care about fuel cells and powertrain , or if it's fast around a track. Manufacturers make impressively fast, smart and environmentally friendly cars all the time. Yet this episode is mostly about that. What I care about is how this car makes me feel. It's so unbelievably good looking. absolutely one of the coolest things to come out of the 2000s, and it represents a contemporary widespread love and fascination for retrofuturistic aesthetics. That's the interesting bit. People on here say things like "it's too niche".. I don't get it!

@@Saltinator 현대 is actually pronounced more like Hyeon-dae in Korea actually without the "y" or "i" sound and more of a soft "eh" sound.
@@YipperX5 Believe it or not, that's precisely how Hyundai marketed itself in the UK. They are the ones who started that pronunciation there. Although it sounds weird as hell to my American ears as well.
This is probably the coolest car on the modern lineup of car designs. I would buy one without hesitation.
It will be produced as a hydrogen car starting in 2026. Limited production of 200 units has been confirmed. The price is approximately $350,000.
Beautiful car. I'm not a huge EV fan but I like the idea of hydrogen being developed. I hope they make it.

It's so great to see Ollie really pushing those cars. I'm so used to seeing car journalists who have no idea how to actually drive fast but Ollie just hops in and sends it as far as he's allowed.
I own a Hyundai i30N and I look forward to every time I take it out; the performance, handling and theatrics just make it great fun to drive. Seeing what Hyundai has in the pipeline, I am actually hopeful that the future may not be the equivalent of automotive "white goods" with auto-pilot, that it might actually be something that looks outstanding, that is fun to drive, and is also good for the environment!
It's hard to get excited about cars that may never be built. That N74 is tears of joy beautiful.
Most of the key parts have already been delivered and we will set a record by producing the T-car in August 2024, followed by mass production at Hyundai's Ulsan(South Korea) EV factory in August 2026.

N Vision 74 is the recreation of the concept vehicle(Hyundai Pony Coupe ) introduced back in the 1974 Turin Auto Show. Hyundai Pony Coupe did not make it into mass production. Then DMC saw it and liked the concept of the Pony coupe and bring this design into DeLorean DMC-12. N Vision 74 does not have DeLorean influences, but actually, DeLorean is influenced by Pony Coupe. They were both designed by the same guy, Giorgetto Giugi.
But the Ionia 5 was based off of the “Pony” too…

@@Focus_20SF no.
@@Focus_20SF electric motors don't really work that way. some noise does come from them, sure, but they're way too quiet for you to hear that clearly regardless of whatever physics trick they may use to amplify it in the cabin (especially on track). it's fake. but hey, if it works, it works
I've always been a fan of the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupé by ItalDesign. So sad they never built it. Finally they dug it out, dusted it off and, well, made this! This is bloody brilliant!
