Hi Mr.T! Thank you for all your videos. Thet are really very well done and very instructive. I'm a happy owner of an Interceptor on which I have knocked down already over 15K km riding in Argentina, and I find all your videos very helpfull. Keep yor camera rolling!! 👏👏👏 And yes, those footpegs are a real pain ... there!!!😂
Fabulous idea to mod the Interceptor (good luck running that one past Mrs T) Actually suprised that the USD front forks don't stack up against the trad ones of the INT.Really believe that the Interceptor was the eureka moment for R E and all the best owner customisations are of this model.
Yes, I have to sell my old Honda before getting any other bikes. Undecided on that one. Mrs T actually wants a small bike, to join me on rides. Looking for a low seat lightweight bike. The Interceptor front forks were a little spongy, but one comment suggested changing the fork oil to a different grade, which will stiffen them up (who knew!). The Interceptor has put RE on the map twice in history. It’s a great value bike. Just those darned foot pegs 😂🙏
Try footrest adapter plate set , go down and back 2cm . Good when you have long legs or knee problems . Also no such problem when moving with feets on the ground . 17:36
100% correct. This video is my nudge at Royal Enfield to make sure they get the best of both of these bikes into one. I would love to be at the press launch when it arrives, but the channel hasn't got enough following yey I suppose. I think the future 650 Bullet / Classic will be an interesting bike. 🙏
A very interesting video. Enjoyed. Both bikes are attractive somehow and quite a lot different. The price is still something that make the RE bikes best sellers all around the globe. At least this is something that is going on now. :)
Hello Mr. T Have to say that the Interceptor looks nice, but I do love my Super Meteor - both short and long trips but also in corners🏍️ Thanks again for a great video Greetings from Denmark👍
Very good video surprising the Interceptor is more comfortable than the Meteor I would never have guessed that. Comfort wise how does the 350 classic or the 350 Bullet compare to the big boys? Love your video's.
The Interceptor rear shocks have more travel length and are also gas filled. So much better. The 350 range comfort is very similar between them all on the J series, but I did find the Classic 350 the most comfortable 🙏
The Meteor is a stunning bike, but compared to the Interceptor, the Meteor is heavy, with a bad turning radius and awful rear suspension. Suspension can be cured. The Meteor is great at cornering. It's a tough call ,😁🙏
A Mexican RUclipsr channel piston al tope brought the super meteor 650 0-60 in 7.25 seconds and some Indian RUclipsr(I think if you type “RE super meteor 0-60 fastest yet”)did it in 6.25-6.75 sec. Although they reved the paint off it. But you’d have to fish around heavy for these vids. but even 8 sec is not bad for a two wheeled tank.
Can I ask which shop in BKK is carrying the conversion kit for advanced pegs? I have exactly the same issue with the pegs as you, and surely I can other that parts to send to Chiang Mai. Thank you!
Sure. It's a shop right near the Royal Enfield dealer in Don Muang Bangkok. I think they are connected. So Google and try and get hold of Royal Enfield Don Muang. Mention Teacher T please ,,,🙏
As we found out interviewing ancient biker. It’s sadly a short legged persons problem. Just that extra 3 inch seam, and it wasn’t a problem for him. Lovely bike. Lighter and a better turning circle than the Meteor. 🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand My shorter friend (5' 8") rode my Interceptor and loved the bike but the first thing he commented was "The footpegs are in the way'. So you are not the only one.
Another great video Teacher T, thank you. Have you noticed any negatives when you fitted the 2cm shorter rear shocks to your SM ? Like yourself my inside leg is 30” so making the bike a tad lower may make all of the difference. I’m just concerned that by fitting the shorter shocks may affect the ride. I would just like to hear your views please. I’m going to fit the Hagon ones like yourself. Keep these videos coming please. 🙏
Many thanks. No adverse effects, fitting the lower shocks on handling. No difference noticed, apart from a much better comfort. The only down side is that it makes it difficult to get onto the centre stand with shorter shocks. Hence I made a wooden wedge to roll the back wheel onto when I want to use the centre stand. So all is good 🙏
I actually use a very tiny piece of plywood to stand the bike up. It’s only 5mm thick but it makes something that is hard easy! Take care . Thanks so much. 😊
I have another question that my local RE dealer nor their mechanics could tell me and to be honest I didn’t think it was that difficult. The question is How do you remove the heat plates on the exhaust. There are two bolts which you can remove easily but the plate is still being held by something else, this is on the narrow end of the heat plate. Any ideas Teacher T. 🤔
Ok I’ll take a look. That’s what I was thinking but i didn’t want to damage it. Thanks so much again ! The mechanics are useless ! I asked one of them how to remove the seat and I was told there’s a catch inside one of the side panels!!! Really! It’s so difficult because you want the stamp from the dealer but you know you could do the job yourself and save some cash ! Thanks teacher t. I can feel another coffee is in order! 😊
I'm completely bemused by the constant gripes about the suspension on the super meteor. I find it exceptionally comfortable. I'm a bit of a heavyweight, at 102 kilos and I wonder if that's the reason for it
@Teacher-T-Thailand Yes I have the touring seat, and also the stock exhausts. Recently I have removed the snorkel from the air filter, and the difference is substantial
Yes that is true, because else I would have swapped for the Interceptor suspension which is far superior. Sadly they are too long. I did find after market shocks far are far better for the Meteor though. 🙏 Meteor 650 suspension upgrade. Hagon Shocks - Are they any good? ruclips.net/video/1h1J09k1xww/видео.html
You get used to the pegs on the interceptor. Some problems of the model are: - rear pegs are very high, and they are uncomfortable for the pillion. There are aftermarket parts to solve this. - 13l tank could be a little bigger, as it can pump only 11,5l. You have to plan the trip to refuel every 150-170km. - the front forks come with 2,5w oil, which is too thin. It gets better with a 7,5w, or 10w.
Id like to see you go balls on the road (top speed) on the meteor and time it takes to achieve it!? I'd really like to see you mod the interceptor. Grand idea!
@robertstraghan9009 what is a wee bit faster mean? I'm 70 yrs old and drive a kawasaki z400 2022. O.E.M. SAYS 120 top speed but I'm adding racing mods to go as fast as a 600. Just once to see and feel what's it's like before I die.
I’m glad someone agrees with me on the pegs. I hope you get to try a Super Meteor without a screen. I prefer to run mine naked because of buffeting. Much better without 🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand Even though in 2021 the pegs on the interceptor kept me from buying it, after testing the Super Meteor I decided to put a deposit on the blacked out Interceptor. I had the money set aside for it but something unexpected happened and those funds went elsewhere. I was looking forward because here in San Diego the Meteor 350 is out of place on the freeways.
