- The Avios Spitfire Mk5 has been built using a super scale, a new modeling technique that allows for incredible detail. Featuring more artistry than the 1100mm Spitfire, the larger model has visible panel lines, exhaust, cannons, and scale split flaps with turn indicators for added realism.

The Avios Spitfire Mk5 is the perfect warbird for flying at your local club. Designed in collaboration with Tom Hunt, the warbird has pre-installed electronics, a replaceable rudder, and navigational lights on the tail and wings. Slide the canopy back, then lower the cockpit door to reveal the interior details, including instrument panels and gun sight. The front of the canopy also includes a removable armored glass to make room for an FPV camera.
Made of bolt-together foam pieces, the Avios Spitfire Mk5 is easy to store and transport when traveling to the airfield. The plane also has a large battery tray, ball-link controls for precision, and hidden control surfaces for a realistic look. The Avios Spitfire Mk5 comes in two different color schemes, ETO (European) and tropical MTO (African).

Finally one large scale with acceptable (price) Spitfire ... the details are impressive and the only remarks are on the final foam processing (edges,stickers). Thanks Avios and Steve.

Some comments. The stickers are awfully and will peal the paint if you are not very careful. I found out the hard way that they are not water slide. I also have a 1100 mm Spit and wish I had built that one first for the learning experience. Th junction box connection is a little trick. Thanks again.

I was wondering which spitfire is better and if there any major differences between them, i am talking about flightline, eflight, avios and dynam.
Also is there any chance of putting an fov camera inside the cockpit and closing the canopy on top?

Great review and build and a magnificently detailed scale representation of the spitfire, my only criticism with the plane is there are no Frize ailerons, thats a shame! the Frise aileron reduces adverse yaw and helps keep the plane co-originated in turns and rolls, yes you can use differential throws but its not the same, Otherwise looks great.

will be nice once all the parts as spares are available 99.9% .mainly the elevator actuator that the elevator halfs go through that the pushrod pushes the elevator ???? not available > should be with the spare push rod sets you would think .right
Yeah all very well and good, now hobbyking had left Australia they have shot themselves in the foot and I'm so disappointed. Now yes it's a nice plane and one I want. But it's $650 to buy now. Yes the planes $383 au but it's $267 postage which is ridiculous. Thanks hobbyking I'm so disappointed.

Not that big of a deal but those discrepancies should not make it into a Product Profile, in my opinion. I mean, that's pretty basic sh1t. Are they 12 gram or not? Cmon man
