- Welcome to the ultimate scale experience. The Avios Spitfire Mk5 has been built using the super scale, a new modeling technique that allows for incredible detail. Featuring more artistry than the 1100mm Spitfire, the larger model has visible panel lines, exhaust, cannons, and scale split flaps with turn indicators for added realism.

The plane also has a large battery tray, ball-link controls for precision, and hidden control surfaces for a realistic look. The Avios Spitfire Mk5 comes in two different color schemes, ETO (European) and tropical MTO (African).

stuart provides so much information in his videos that i have started to watch them at 2x speed to take it in in a reasonable amount of time.
That's the best Spitfire I've ever seen. Now to start saving up...
you prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks xD
@Andrew Zakai yea, I have been watching on instaflixxer for years myself :D
@Andrew Zakai yup, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Stuart is killing it with this series. Love his passion for these warbirds. Can't wait for the production version
Thank you guys, hope all is well with you two. Stuart.
Hello Stuart, your presentation ,without dramatization and excessive use of the word '' cool '' , just what I need.... thanks alot.
OMG hobbyking I think I am in love, that would be sweet to fpv that with the stick moving
Fantastic model!!!! My hobby budget just got bigger!
Outstanding looking Spitfire.
That is bloody beautiful! Looks like Brian Taylor techniques used in servo set up on the surfaces too, nice touch! And the fact it will be FPV ready as well has made me start saving for its release, this is a MUST have, thanks Stuart, you guys are doing sterling work for us Spitfire lovers.
I look forward to seeing this warbird on the market very soon!!!
hope for a xmas release, and a good pricepoint.
Beautiful plane, I'd love to see a CAC Boomerang around this size..... one day maybe.
And now I need to prep for some 6S batteries.
... if HobbyKing and its Product Managers last for a thousand years, men will still say, THIS was their finest hour.
Beautifull plane! really like the oreo struts..hopefully they also will be on the 1100 mm durafly line of planes...
oh wow, i see you guys are in full overdrive now, and the year just started...nice work Stuart :)
looks really good, nice detailing. 👍
Looks great Stuart!
just outstanding HK this is the best spitfire i've seen keep up the amazing work
Damn that's so awesome love the cockpit an fpv accessory for it when's it out ! I'll get it for sure thxs hobbyking
Honestly, the thing that I like most in this model is the landing gear, it looks so good at absorbong bumps during landings.
I have a Durafly Spitfire mk.1a 1100mm and it's amazing but the landing gear is so bad, had to by a better one from E-flite
I'm also waiting for the release :)
amazing model ,i am getting one
That's perfect. Now if you guys could do a P-40E/N in that size.
This looks unreal. Would love to see a DutchRC review on it.
Wow that's awesome great job
Beautiful model
Now December, no updates??
Very nice!
Very Nice! - Better every year...Need Do-335 and He-111 though :)
yes, yes we do.
HobbyKing Live A do-335 would take all my moneys.
very nice!!!
When will you release it? It’s over a 1 and 1/2 year late
Hi Stew, I've in the past found the terms Spring and Summer a little confusing in a 'world' market. The seasons are reversed in the souther hemisphere. Something for you guys to put in the list of things Aussies hate :) Nice Spit BTW, love the scheme and Volks on a MkV.
okay, I need that plane!
Beautiful Spitfire. Hoping you’ll release it in European theatre scheme too. I was on the point of buying the Durafly Spitfire Mk5 but will hold off for one of these. Nice work👍🏻
Just noticed the date on this video - is this still going to be released?
Is this ever coming guys? I'm ready to drop the cash
That looks Very good! Just in case you're still working on the model: maybe it would be nice to add a bit of shock-absorption to the tail wheel? Other then that. looks great :)
will you review this plane? more warbirds :)
I would NOT (at all) mind doing so Ronnie.. Don't know if I'll be able to afford it though :$
Somewhere around €250-270 for this one I would think??
I think it's going to cost more i think... around 400-500 euro? but its just a guess, maybe stuart can give a discount ;)
DutchRC Adventures only if the scale spit had it
It did!
Nice!!
Nice work Stuart
The oleos make the landings very realistic
Bouncy landings and shaking wings always make models look like toys on the ground
I am sure with some development the oleos could be brought down in size to suit the Durafly models - could this be an innovation and selling point for Durafly??
regards
Hans (UK)
Yes! Please oleos for the small models!
Its now mid March, any updates for us? Stuart??? Come back!
Waaaw, great! Fortunately it is Spitfire Mk.V and not Mk.IX, because than I would have to start thinking about it. Really scale looking plane on the first sight, bigger Durafly. And 6s battery is another reason.
You mentioned the Scale cockpit(Moving stick etc) was an options. where is that option on your website?
Now nov 2018 still no sign!!!! have you shelved the Spitfire
the 1600mm spitfire he refers to, is that the flightlineRC one which is going to be coming out in around april?
prob
Please put links to your products. I searched "Avios PNP" and only the 1.1M Spitfire comes up. I also searched for some satellite receiver cables and nothing comes up. I know you carry these items but unless it's in stock, you can never find them. If you don't make it easy, we will go elsewhere to find what we want and need.
It’s now 16th of May 2018. Where is this model?
Hey HK gives us something different and exiting like a epo Durafly or Avios Polikarpov I-16, GET OUT OF THE BOX! Love all the FPV ideas but come one there is thousand of interesting models in aviation history
Any news on the Spitfire guys. Its all gone very quiet.
5 December 2018 still no model. Is this the reason why Stuart moved on?
What happened to this product, it hasn't seemed to materialise?
Can we pre-order this beautiful machine??
how do you connect the control stick so that it moves with ailerons and elevator as it doesn't show you in the instruction manual? note I wont be using the FPV camera.
What happened to this model? April/May availability? Which year? Did a Stuart take it with him when he left, haha.... lucky I didn’t wait and not go for the flight line 1600mm.....
When will this plane be available?
Feel free to reach out to me to review this beautiful plane.
How do you get the control column to move. Also the FPV pan and tilt? Absolutely no instructions. Not good
I want one........
please som add somre Axis planer to both your 1100 mm and 1450 mm collection
When are these going to come out?
So when is it out? Been waiting a year now
Do you also have one without the ugly sand / airfilter? 😅
They said in the video it will have different paint schemes.
Bandet but that's not a paint scheme, it's a different cowl mold. I agree, I'd love to see it with the standard scoop with a scheme much like the Durafly Mk 1. One thing I'd also like to see on any of these warbirds is a demo of stall since that and top speed are usual weak points.
Bandet yeah I wrote the question before they said it xD
cloudsplitter24 yeah agree
now april 2018 where is spitfire ?????
Front end looks too short. Something wrong with the scoop under engine. Too large? Nose not long enough? Mark V didn't really come with air intake there of that size. kind of typhoonish. Love the Cockpit details and the hidden servos, that flap thingy is cool to.
Joseph Sieracki The nose looks short because of the vokes filter under the nose. it looks right for the Mk5 though. you are probably used to more conventional nose
Yeah, no doubt. Looked online for examples and could not locate anything similar in a quick search. I am most definitely used to the more conventional nose. Thanks for info!
Google "tropcial spitfires" and you'll see she is pretty accurate I think... :)
LOL " The addition of the bulky Vokes filter to the Spitfire’s nose cowling not only marred the type’s emblematic good looks" as quoted by the Darwin Spitfires Website in Explaining this variant. No wonder I never saw or heard about this version...Thanks!
Yes, definitely not the most beautiful... but she served a purpose!
So are you gonna have a 1450 bf109
Now where talking great job can we see a mustang next?
any updates
no mk1?:(
Beautiful. But, would like it better if it wasn't a trop.
Please do a mustang next I will purchase
Release please!!?? Expecting when? probably cancelled :( Shame really, the wing of the flightline isnt scale unfortunatly and not want to buy that one.
*another* spitfire?
i keep watching this vid to remind myself: dont buy the flightline, dont buy the flighhtlne...
Guys what is taking so long?! hopefully it comes around christmas.
Whatever happened to this good looking bird?
sign me up!
Where is this Model?
Later in the year, Stuart got ahead of himself but wanted to let everyone know the projects he started before he left the company. It's coming and when we get closer you will see it again on Updates and social media.
Looks Great will have to put loan papers in and not tell the wife
AVIOS, known for their scale and detailed models, but has a damaged reputation for their crap quality control when it comes to electronics & retracts. Hopefully the model is fitted with decent electronics otherwise your sales might swing to a competitor(With a good track record) who is also about to release a big Spitfire. Only time will tell how long the Avios brand will last if this model is fitted with sub par electronics
Motion freewing flightline dont need 2 say anything no build no 4 stroke oil the only way 4 me!
Shut up and take my money!!!
Guys this is going to be amazing to FPV. If I can do this (see RUclips link) to scale FPV a mere 1100mm Spit, imagine what it's going to be like with the detail HK is going to squeeze into this one... ruclips.net/video/4NWivsUsIfY/видео.html
