Description:
Welcome to the ultimate scale experience. The Avios Spitfire Mk5 has been built using super scale, a new modelling technique that allows for incredible detail. Featuring more artistry than the 1100mm Spitfire, the larger model has visible panel lines, exhaust, cannons, and scale split flaps with turn indicators for added realism.
The Avios Spitfire Mk5 is the perfect warbird for flying at your local club. Designed in collaboration with Tom Hunt, the warbird has pre-installed electronics, replaceable rudder, and navigational lights on the the tail and wings. Slide the canopy back, then lower the cockpit door to reveal the interior details, including instrument panels and gun sight. The front of the canopy also includes removable armoured glass to make room for an FPV camera.
Made of bolt-together foam pieces, the Avios Spitfire Mk5 is easy to store and transport when travelling to the air field. The plane also has a large battery tray, ball-link controls for precision, and hidden control surfaces for a realistic look. The Avois Spitfire Mk5 comes in two different colour schemes, ETO (European) and tropical (African).

Beautiful model, great presence in air. Thanks for sharing this video unedited, few have big enough danglers to do so.
Salute my Friend
-Brad
Thanks friend for all support and such kind words. It would be easy to edit and I would look like professional pilot. But where is the point there. We always show it all no matter what so any pilot can see what can happen in this beautiful hobby. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
That is why your channel is so great, no edits, just as it is with a real flyer. Of course, your channel is great too because of the fun you guys have.
Brad Dixon agree my friend
Very true , what you see is what you get with these great guys. They're very funny to, great channel.
Really enjoy your videos guys. Hello from Perth Western Australia 👍👍
Joe
This is why I always enjoy you two!!! Please change nothing! This channel is for all and any experience level! It shows new people that it will not go perfect every time but to rebuild and try again....
Thanks for such kind words and for all support my friend. And dont worry, we will stay like this as long as we will film the planes. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
Murphys law: " who dosen´t crash, dosen´t fly, and a proper crash is when you need a bucket to collect all the remaining pieces lying well distributed in a wide field". Congratulation for this video, very nice maiden flight by Pilot Robert and for capitain Blaz filming so nice. A salute from Austria.
I was screaming “Go Around” but you never listen Robert! Salute!
I hope Santa brings me on this year. Fun work guys.
This is me returning your salute. Thanks you for enduring the cold, Siberian winds to make this video. Thumbs up boys!
Thanks my friend for salute and for all support. The ending was bad but I will do it better next time.
Keepin' it real gents, the way we like it.
The shape of the spit in the air is so good. Cheers x
THE POWER is AWESOME!!!!!That elliptical wing LOVES to tip stall at low speeds!!!if you punch it at low speed the torque will kick left!!!!!More speed on approach and she's YOURS!!!!Congrats,,one of the NICEST models you've filmed for us!!!!THANKS AGAIN my Slovenian BROTHERS!!!!!Actually you guys BABBLING at each other at the end is even better than the flight!!!!Sounds like me and MY brothers BABBLING!!!!!!
You said that so beautiful my friend. And thanks for the tips. I know all that before the flight but when its now or never time there is just no time to think to much ;-) New parts are on the way and I will try to do the perfect landing next time. Big salute to you from Slovenia and thanks for all support.
Great flight... Looks like a really fast plane. Salute from all us Canadians for wearing that beautiful hat....
No guys - every landing a pilot may walk away from, alive, is a good landing! 👍 I’ve been a professional pilot for 35 years, and a colleague of mine said so in the early days. It’s only the props failure, we will fix it!! Love you guys
a GREAT flying and looking plane. For slow and fast scale flying. A bad landing but this is real life video and that’s important. Never change your format. Many thanks again for all your effort, enthousiasm and your enormous appreciation for your subscribers and viewers. You make me happy.
The plane is in one piece Robert, it will fly another day, you will nail it next time, the maiden is always difficult!! Captain Blaz did the best zooming of his life!! SALUTE!!!!
I’ve heard if you can walk away from the landing and the airplane is not trashed you’ve done a good job. 👏👍
Bill Burnhope I’ve heard that one too.
Well lets hope so becouse this landing was not something that I planed to do ;-) But I cant wait for the second flight. Cheers my friend.
The pilot and camera man did a great job!
Thanks my friend.
There's no crying in this hobby. Nice flight and Captain Blaz has a great point in regards to landing we can all learn from. Go far away and come down slowly. Live and learn. Hey at least you had fun and a prop is chump change so no big deal. SALUTE!!!!
Like you said my friend. This was my mistake no matter what. But the new parts are on the way and I will land good next time.
No shame, Pilot Robert!! Let the arm chair pilots criticize... I for one am so happy for both you and Capt. Blaž! I’ve been paying close attention to the different landing methods employed by Pilot Ryan and Capt. Mike over at Motion RC. Ryan seems to strongly advocate a longer smoother final approach as Blaž recommends, and multiple approaches on the early flights. This power setup will definitely allow for it. Let that beauty eat a blade here and there without a feeling of guilt! Thank you for sharing your new Model and pushing yourself to get her flying as soon as possible! Cheers and BIG SALUTE to our favorite RC Brothers!!
At least you didn't break a wing or a tail. Beautiful model and a great flight. You got me interested in possibly buying one.
You guys have become my favorite RC channel. “because you have holes in your pockets hey” 😂
Thanks my friend for all support and big salute from Slovenia.
Burrrrr! That snow looks cold! I love that plane.
Salute to pilot Robert and big salute to all spitfire pilots who have died in the air !!!!!!!
Nice model..... realistic flight......
The camera man is professional oh yes
Thanks my friend. They must have been really brave. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
Fantastic! Wanna come over, fly and party with y'all!
Still a GREAT flight, thanks for getting out there in the freezing cold! YOU GUYS ROCK! OH YEAH, THIS IS IT!!!!!!
A maiden flight, redemption flight, Sunday flight; all sweet with this bird.
I got in a few redemption flights yesterday with a Corsair.
Your landing to be will be so satisfying with this nice Spitfire.
Lovely flyer and it looks great in the air. Too cold for flying now, I think. Line her up further out and take your time as Capt. Blaz advises! Enjoy a nice hot cup of tea!!
It really is my friend. The new parts are on the way and I will try to do it good next time.
After fllite test,You two have become my favourite rc channel. Excellent videos, entertaining and comical. Keep up the great work
That big prop looks great spinning in the air! Such an awesome model plane!
Nice maiden my friend and as you know Spitfire's are tricky to land but you must know that they need speed so you are able to control the plane on the final approach.
Never mind my friend, you only lost a prop and the plane is still in one piece.
That's the fun of this great hobby and thank you for your amazing video's.
Robert, This was a great flight. When you replay watch the takeoff. See the torque roll and how you reduced throttle just the right amount and corrected with aileron to save the takeoff. That was good reflexes to save the takeoff...most pilots would have crashed it right then. This beauty will fly again in all its glory. And OOOHHH...Did you hear that wonderful sound, eh? This is one of those video that you can be proud of, with no editing. Dis is it!
Great flight guys! Can't wait for the Redemption flight as well 👍
Love you guys. Glad to see I am not the only one freezing while flying.
Nice flight Robert. Don’t feel bad about the landing. We have all had them.
Wow nice flying so realistic .im sorry you broke the prop but at least the plane is ok.thank you both for freezing your ass to make this video.bless you both
Thanks my friend for such kind words. The landing was nothing but it will be better next time. I hope ;-)
Capt Blaz does make a point. Take the time to get to the runway. But again, even the smaller Mk9 from Parkzone suffered from breaking cannons and small parts, and propellers if not put on the runway smoothly. The Spitfire is very well known for being a handful on the ground, but very well behaved in the air. New prop and away it goes. But this is why we watch, to see real flights with bumps and scratches not edited out. Very well Pilot Robert, and Capt Blaz some very nice shots in the air. *salute* And thank you for sharing this journey!
That's a beauty!!!
It really is my friend. I feel bad about the landing but what can you do. I have already ordered new parts and I cant wait to fly it again. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
Beautiful, she looked magnificent in the air, matched only by Zero! Please, get her up in the blue again soon. Merry Christmas!
Congratulations on your first flight of the very beautiful Spitfire. Suggestions: 1.) use more right rudder on takeoff, 2.) Control altitude with throttle, 3.) Control speed with pitch, 4.) Pick a tree or object in the distance to line up your landings approach. Practice these things and your landings will achieve full sexyness. 👍🛫
I watched yesterday but came back today to say Thank you. You are an excellent enthusiast but even more you really care about your subs and friends. Why? flying for us in the freezing weather. Your brother has a point, come in low and long for those scale cool looking landings. A1 job guys!! thumbs up as always. Your loyal fan from Ohio "O".
Thanks for all support my friend and for such kind words. I really feel that we must show to the world how great this hobby is. And to show it like it is. Its not always perfect but that doesnt mean that it cant be perfect fun. I would film every day if I had a chance. But its OK like it is now. Big salute to you in Ohio from Slovenia.
Great maiden guys, no worries about the small mishap. Great plane!
The Avios Spitfire looked great in the air, just needed a go around for another landing attempt. What a great test of the landing gear suspension. We always can't land perfect all the time, Don't worry about comments on landings we're not professional RC flyers. Jeff in LA USA
I bought it as soon as it was released.
My spitfire will arrive in a month.
I can not wait.
Thank you for your video
Good luck on your maiden my friend and happy landings. The bird is really great.
That looked like the real thing when it was coming in for the landing, with the flaps down and the wheels! So realistic! Thanks again for a great start to my morning!
The bird is really great my friend. The landing was just my mistake. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
Look on the bright side Robert, it is only the prop that is broke all other sections of the flight were good! Blame the snow and ice. In Queensland Australia you would have beautiful weather to fly hey. Never any snow. You are always welcome.
nice flight Robert I enjoy watching you and Blaz
Thanks my friend for all support and big salute from Slovenia.
Sweet looking plane, and awesome flight! Big salute to you, fellow flyers! That Spitfire can haul the mail! It was zippin through the sky with ease!
Its really so beautiful and so easy to handle in the air. But you must respect it and that is it. Cheers my friend.
Congratulations on the maiden and thanks for showing it how it really happens.
Thanks my friend. We show it all no matter what. Becouse only in that way we can see the true life of RC plane pilot. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
I enjoy your banter even more than the flight video.... Order that new prop boys and give it another go....
Thanks my friend for such kind words. The new parts are on the way and I will do it good next time. I hope ;-) Big salute to you from Slovenia.
That is one sweet looking machine, and it has a wild sound to it as well.
It was a great video, great flying pilot Robert and excellent filming captain Blaz. That's a beautiful spitfire, looks and sounds great.
Bad landings happen to everyone at some stage. At least the plane is still in one piece :) Thanks for sharing the flight of this beautiful plane! Salute from Australia.
Pilot Robert and Captain blaz for a great Maiden my friends. Please dont beat yourself up to much pilot Robert because that was one sexy flight. My maiden landing was a broken landing gear and yours is only one prop. We alm do it. At least you two never edit anything. What you see is what you get. Love it. 👍👍👍😜😜😜😉😉😉
Nice flight, bummer about the prop. It looks like your weather is like ours here in Michigan, USA. Up and down, cold and warm. Always a pleasure watching you two. Keep up the good work.
Second salute and thanks for a great year my friends. Russ/North Carolina
Thanks my friend and big salute back from Slovenia.
Don't worry about the landing, you get it next time! I have seen you land perfect so many times before, so no worries there! The plane have a lot`s of power too, nice flying, and good camera works as allwais, Cheers!
Thank you for beatiful and realistic flight. It's a pity to broken prop during the landing. Enjoy Sunday
Thanks my friend for such kind words. Things like this happens and that is why they have spare parts ;-) The new prop is comming and I cant wait for the second flight. Big salute to you from Slovenia.
Being of the inexperienced variety, I always order 2 spare props with every plane so I always have a spare while another is on order :). The Spitfire is my favourite plane of all time and I can't wait to get enough experience that I can fly this beautiful model!
Great flight pilot Robert. You just rushed the landing. Listen to your brother and plan your landing earlier on your first flight. Looks really cold there.Hats off to you both for doing the maiden in extremely cold conditions.. beautiful bird can’t wait to see the second flight. I love to see you guys put on ski’s on a war bird and land in the snow. If anyone can do it, it’s you pilot Robert.
You are one happy and funny guy, I salute you. So sorry for crash....
Congratulations on the channel, love the banter between pilot and captain and how you film the full flight and not edit out the oops moments. Reminds me of what it’s really like to hang out with buds at the field. Keep up the great work.
Big salute pilot Robert and captain Blaz, hey hey just remember, it's just for fun. 😎
Terrific flight. That's a gorgeous bird, Robert. I love the hat. :) Cheers from Canada.
Beautiful plane and the airframe sound is so good.
Simply gorgeous. The most evocative aeroplane silhouette ever. ❤
Beautiful war bird, the detail is so awesome, I love it!!
Its really beautiful my friend.
Nice flight rob the spit looked very stable shame about the landing hey' we all make mistakes nextime you will do the perfect landing a captain rob. 👍🛩
Thanks my friend. This was my mistake. Cant wait to try it again. Oh yeah.
Very Awesome my Friend Awesome as always my Friend
Full watch and Like 👍🤙👊✈️
Great video, thank you from the land of the *Spitfires!*
Great flight love watching you guys you will get that landing next time
Thanks my friend. The new parts are on the way and I cant wait for the second flight.
Well done boys. Another very good video with Avios Spitfire oh yeh! Looks awesome and sounds great with bucket loads of power oh yeh! Congratulations from down under😁😂🤣😎 pilot Steve
This is such a beautiful plane! I love the Spitfire, what a great warbird. Love your videos as always guys!
Thanks for bringing us more content!
It’s starting to feel like a trip to Slovenia for air shows every couple of days!
Can’t wait to see what nicer weather will bring
Real nice save on the take off torque roll. Sorry about the landing!! I have had a few of those myself, I call them lawn-dart landings. If there are no kids around I call them my poofta landing.
WOW What a great flight, the landing was al most perfect, The Spitfire has such a presence in the air, Broken prop, I wish I could get away with light damage like that, You should get yourself and Captain Blaz some fingerless knitted gloves that way the cold is slightly more bearable, Big Salute my friends. UK.
Hey, big salute from the north of Sweden to the maiden! Looking to be a little cold there... But hey, I have minus 31 degres celsius up here in the north! No flying today... By the way, listen to advice from Captain Blaz, anyway always such fun to view your films!
Thanks for stopping by my friend. Oh, -31 sound pretty scary to me. For the last few years we dont have more then -15 here anymore. But when I was young there were temperatures below -25. Big salute to you in Sweden from Slovenia. And I will try to listen to Blaž ;-)
another great vid .cant wait for the next surprise.
Not everyone can have a OH YEAH moments, sometimes it's a OH NO!
Great scale flying of this airplane. Change the prop and fly it again. Cheers from Orlando, FL, USA
First salute to you my friends!
Thanks my friend and big salute back from Slovenia.
Nice flying! You proved your g spot was spot on :D.
Thanks my friend. At least that ;-)
Another awesome video from 2 awesome brothers !!! Keep them coming
Thanks my friend, we will try as long as possible.
Good day cobbers, she flys true and straight. Don"t worry about the landing the real spits landed on their nose. CPT Robert start landing from further back the bird should find Its own sink rate. Salute from OZ
The bird is really great my friend. I will try to do it better on the second flight.
Smooth as butter in the air, took off like a Harrier, great sound. If you had on your pilot hat, landing would be no problem. 👨✈️
I alway set a warning at one minute and start landing attempts at that time. This way you have enough battery for a couple go-arounds and are not rushed. This makes for better landings. Especially with a new plane.
Nice flight, Keep having fun my friends. From washington state USA
That was impressive and oh so fast, you have cobra like reflex to fly this extremely quick aircraft!
Greetings from Michigan! You have been working to hard lately I think. Take a little rest.
SARLUTE! Pilot Robert, Capt. BlaZ, and the Best Channel Ever!
These guys kill me!! Keep the videos coming!
We will my friend as long as possible.
Gorgeous!!! I’ve always loved the Spitfire and this one fast!! She’s very stable to, nice flight Robert and nice filming Capt. Blaz’ 👍
Thanks my friend. The landing was nothing but I will try to do better one on the second flight. Big salute to you Mike from Slovenia.
DeucesWild RC thanks!!!
You wrote Chrash, i expected horrible things to come, but (allmost) all Endes with an happy End 🤯
Good flying guys! I like the hat, too. All the best from 🇨🇦.
hello my friend! good video👍👍
Thanks my friend.
That is a great looking Spitfire. Nice video! Final approch looked like a real plane. Good flying, good video. SALUTE!!
Many years ago I was at a airshow in Chino California.
There was a real Spitfire and it did a flying demonstration. AND on landing it was rolling out on the landing run and at a very low speed it tipped up on it's nose........
So it was a realistic landing.
Great hat, I see lots of them here in Nova Scotia. Everyone should have one.
Salute to both of you. The maiden was good, she flew fast and sexy the landing could have been better but what the hell there is nobody in the hobby that hasn't done that before. The no editing shows the truth and thats just another thing thats great about you guys. Keep up the great work I look forward to the next video.
What a beautiful view with the snow and that bird fly's very well and fast, the landing wasn't perfect but the plane is ok but this planeis a great purchase.
It was perfect day but things like this happen. The new parts are on the way and I cant wait to fly it again. Cheers my friend.
As predicted a lovely flying Spitfire it has the right 'sit' in the air for this classic fighter, your road looks more like a runway ! you could easily land a real Spitfire there and its ideal,we have no disused surfaced roads anything like that in the UK.The landing mishap was unfortunate and I think first stage flaps will be more than adequate to land her,I agree with you Robert fast landings especially on models like this are desireable otherwise those nasty tip stalls bite badly, you will soon have this lovely model in the air again soon for a worthy second video when you can also do some victory rolls as well, now get yourself nice and warm and enjoy your cup of tea, thank you for providing us with these great videos and sharing your passion for flying with the model flyers of the world.
Funny funny video and such a great good natured banter! Really entertaining, thank you. A shame about the landing but I'm sure you will have her in the air again very soon, thank you again. Big salute from UK
Another great video from you guys :-) Always fun to watch your videos.
OHHHH YEAHH!!! this plane is just beautiful in the air. OK pilot Robert. How do you compare the way this spitfire fly's compared to the smaller size durafly seafire I am curious to know if my seafire will fly as great as this beautiful bird. OHH YEAH!! 😎
Avios planes are amazing. Great review.
I love them my friend. Thanks for stopping by and big salute from Slovenia.
Awsome flight boys, thx for another great video :)
Hey Pilot Robert, it was a great flight with a great plane and the landing was a hell of a lot better than I could make. Over here we say “a great landing is any one you can walk away from.” And although that saying comes from the real world community where I fly, I think it still applies. Maybe a better RC saying is “a great landing is any one you can walk away from and still use the plane”, lol, But see, in either case, you are a great pilot and that was still a great landing. Big salute from Texas!
Thanks my friend for such kind words. I have learned here that you must respect Spitfire from the start to the end. No mistakes must be made if you are flying this baby. But the parts are comming and I cant wait for the second flight. Big salute to you in Texas from Slovenia.
Good enough for the maiden flight, Capt Robert.
I built a balsa Spitfire that size one time, but it had very small non-scale flaps, and they worked just fine.
So you might want to try no flaps for take-off, and take-off flaps for landing.
However, those scale flaps look so good!
You could also try mixing some down elevator with the flaps so that the nose does not try to pitch up causing a wing tip to drop.
