  • This is my Avios Spitfire MkVb Super Scale 1450mm RC Warbird Unboxing & Build. This is the newest plane from HobbyKing and it a highly detailed RC Plane version of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk5.

Here are my review notes for this very big Hobbyking Spitfire:
    - Big and beautiful with tons of scale detail
    - Lots of bright lights
    - Scale split flaps
    - The huge motor that runs on 3300 to 4000mAh 6S power
    - Pan and tilt FPV hardware is included
    - The sliding canopy and scale door is the ultimate in scale detail
    - Ball link servo connectors
    - Hidden control surfaces for a more scale look
    Cons:
    - I don't have any cons currently for this Avios Spitfire Mk Vb Super Scale World War Two Warbird, but I will update this after I fly it and note any I come across.
I find it truly amazing just how a foam Remote Control Airplane like this Avios Supermarine Spitfire MkV is available at this price with this many extras. I am completely blown away by this beautiful plane and cannot wait to fly it!
This is how Hobby King describes this RC Spitfire WWII Warbird:
"Welcome to the ultimate scale experience. The Avios Spitfire Mk5 has been built using super scale, a new modelling technique that allows for incredible detail. Featuring more artistry than the 1100mm Spitfire, the larger model has visible panel lines, exhaust, cannons, and scale split flaps with turn indicators for added realism.
The Avios Spitfire Mk5 is the perfect Warbird for flying at your local club. Designed in collaboration with Tom Hunt, the warbird has pre-installed electronics, replaceable rudder, and navigational lights on the the tail and wings. Slide the canopy back, then lower the cockpit door to reveal the interior details, including instrument panels and gun sight. The front of the canopy also includes removable armoured glass to make room for an FPV camera.
Made of bolt-together foam pieces, the Avios Spitfire Mk5 is easy to store and transport when travelling to the air field. The plane also has a large battery tray, ball-link controls for precision, and hidden control surfaces for a realistic look. The Avois Spitfire Mk5 comes in two different colour schemes, ETO (European) and tropical (African).
You'll fall in love with the accuracy and detail of this super scale model.
    Features:
    • Super scale details like panel lines, exhaust, cannons.
    • Scale split flaps with turn indicators
    • Designed in collaboration with Tom Hunt

    • @GBLynden

Assembling mine now, freak'n wing tubes were soooo tight I had to chuck them up in a drill and reduce their diameter by running then through hand held sand paper 3 times, FYI, the sand paper gets hot, real hot.
I didn't glue the wings together just in case I may have to replace a wing, you never know, besides, there are 2 carbon tubes and 4 machine screws holding it all together.

Sorry to bug you again, but I had a quick question about the decals.... Mine are not sticking well to the fuselage at all..... Is there a technique you use to ensure that they stick once applied like heat or something? Thank you!!

    • @GBLynden
      @GBLynden  5 лет назад +2

You aren't bugging me at all bro! The technique I used was simple, but the recommended technique is actually easier using a decal iron. What I did was find a soft t-shirt and ordered a $10 hair dryer off Amazon. I simply ran the hair dryer on low heat just long enough to warm it up and then gently rubbed down the decals with the t-shirt. The t-shirt prevents the decals from sticking to your finger. The technique with the decal iron is very similar, but instead of using the hair dryer, you just use the decal iron on it. I have also heard of guys using a regular iron, but the one I have access too was too large for me to feel comfortable doing that.
I hope my answers help :)
