The Supermarine Spitfire is THE defining aircraft of WW2, the Mk2a was one of the early versions that defined this incredible airplane. During the darkest days of the war, the Spitfire, more than any other aircraft then or since, along with the pilots that flew it, came to symbolize the struggle and triumph of a nation over adversity. This struggle was the "Battle of Britain", those pilots were "The Few" and the triumph was the Spitfire!
Durafly’s Mk2a Spitfire P7308 represents a Spitfire that was flown by Squadron No 71 which was one of the Eagle Squadrons that were formed in the early days of WWII. These fighter squadrons were formed using volunteer pilots from the United States prior to America's entry into the war in December 1941. The attention to detail in this PNF model is matched only by its superb performance and grace in the air. The Mk2a is designed purely for a 4S set-up unlike previous marques, and it boasts a wealth of features you have come to expect from Durafly. These features include an airframe molded in tough EPO foam, factory-installed motor, ESC, servos, and retractable landing gear. It also has faithfully reproduced split flaps, scale outline, fine surface detail, LED lighting system, and authentic scale decals.
The 4S setup enables the Mk2a to perform a full "Airshow" routine including big loops, low banked passes, Split-S', and all the maneuvers expected of a WW2 warbird including of course the iconic Spitfire “Victory Roll”. Thanks to its superb handling and well-balanced flight characteristics it will instill confidence in those who fly it. Like the full-size aircraft, the Durafly Spitfire Mk2a is a joy to fly.
The Durafly Spitfire Mk2a will appeal to both British and American model airplane pilots alike for its tribute of a Spitfire flown by one of the extraordinary Eagle Squadrons that were formed using eager, young Americans, who simply wanted to help make a difference to the war in Europe.
Buy yours now and enjoy the delights and graceful lines whilst flying the most iconic warbird from WWII.

This might be my favorite plane of all . Not only the looks and history of the Spitfire ....but its a GREAT flyer . I really love it . Durafly did a great job with this . SALUTE 🇨🇦
Fly it again and soon Robert . You will love the plane . It should not need trim if the surfaces and CG are good . I'm using a 4S 2200 stuffed all the way forward . . Every flight has been perfect . Truly this one has been one of the best flyers ever compared to many more .
Good flying nice airplane looks like a full scale spitfire in the air oh yeah
What a grand day for flying and not a dog walker to be seen.
Lucky old you ! Get it trimmed out and fly that little beauty 😍
Ah that iconic silhouette of the Spitfire against the sunrise was beautiful 👌
Thanks to my favorite brothers for another great morning coffee treat! The Petrincic brothers flying circus does it again! Best to you and your families from Chicago!! Oh yeaaah!!
As always the most enjoyable RC channel on RUclips
Thanks Mark.
@@PetrincicBrosRC Golf courses use a chemical to kill worms on the greens... No worms =no moles
Very nice lacquered table tops!!!
Nice flying looked great against the sunrise chaps👍😀
Love your Transmitter Tray.
Spits are just beautiful.
Came for the plane, stayed for the guy haha, I dig your energy !
Thanks for stopping by my friend 👍
Wow that takeoff was amazing Robert didn't give me time to blink and she was up.
Fast as hell 😁
Looks great in the air at high speed.
I always love the splat flips.
Any Landing you can walk away from was a good one Robert nice plane great job beautiful sexy airplane
Special salute to the American volunteer pilots who flew this particular marque. In fact Spits had asymmetrical u/c closure, to counteract the effect of the torque swing.. We can see now how the season is changing, with the extra darkness in the morning, very good for the navigation lights! Very well flown & filmed. Not the easiest of planes, some experience needed for this beautiful bird. Big salute from London. 👍
NIIICE 🤩 Love the Spitfire 🔥
Nice flight guys 🔥👍🏻✌️
Super nice video and amazing plane. Thank you for making and sharing these videos
Hey many thanks gents for getting this video out and nailing the maiden. Always a pleasure with you guys ;)
Our pleasure Stuart every single time. Amazing bird. Love it. Big salute from Slovenia.
I have one Spitfire from Eflite w/retracts in my house hangar the split flaps work beautiful on mine. Your so correct this warbird is not for beginners but does fly very well with the big wings. Like the P-47 Thunderbolt originally from Parkzone in Silver the big wings fly very nicely good enough for a new pilot that is dying to fly a warbird ! The lights in the video are so sexy! You two brothers are so lucky to have each other as of course you know! I salute you both for your humor/kindness to our sport. Thankyou both!!!
Dang moles. You need to hire Bill Murray from Caddie Shack to come take care of them. Other than that a perfect flight with a beautiful plane of zee war. The history that you now provide is appreciated. I research my planes before I buy and it just makes it all that much more enjoyable building and flying them. Salute to zee brothers and all those flyers out there that love this hobby. Russ NC/USA
Another great maiden !!! You guys are the best. The mole sticks works believe me. At first the miles will dig around them try to figure out what it’s is. But after that , No More mole’s. Trust me, I put about 20 grand in back yard and the moles attached. I set out traps and these sticks. The trap works but you have to reset and dispose of a dead mole. The mole feels the vibration of worms and insects tunneling through the ground and the vibration from sticks confuse the moles. They leave after a while.👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻
Looks fabulous in the dawn light, thanks for getting up early!
beautiful bird, lights look great too!!
Such a great morning flight of the spitfire! Keep up the good work fellas
Nice warbird!!!
The time of filming ideal!!!
Keep flying boys!!
🇬🇷✈🛫🇬🇷✈
Awesome my friend.
Pilot Robert speaks the truth about trying to correct a CG problem with trim. You can trim for one speed and/or power setting, but when the speed or power changes, the trim will no longer be correct. The plane will not fly like it should "and I don't know what!"
The location of the CG is crucial, and the book is not always right! (NC/USA)
If you watch footage of full size Spitfires being flown......they all fly with down trim ?.
My city Was the Birthplace of Sir Reginald Mitchell, something it is still very proud of.Just had our Spitfire totally restored and rehoused in a new gallery.
Gotta love a spitty! such a beautiful war bird. great video Brothers.
I have a durafly Mk9 Spitfire. The CG from instructions was at least 25mm out to the rear. It made for a hand full flying and even worse for landing. Luckily the farmer had just cut the hay so wound up in a nice soft pile of hay (fffffphew). Only problem now with CG correct it noses over very easily on take off and landing. The lights looked good in the dawn. Keep the entertaining video's coming Petrincic Bros
I think its a design flaw with the real aircraft, think the undercarriage needed to be brought forward 1 or 2 inches ??? Only joking!!!
Nice flight lads
Looks just a smidge tail heavy guys, love the iconic shape of the spitfire especially in the early morning sun 🌞😎😁👌
Yes, and isn't the real one a lot longer in the nose, the pilot couldn't see over the nose most of the time, I think you can see by the shape of the fuse it's kind of stumpy around the front, that would have made it more balanced. Looks great on the ground but flying it was a worrying affair with all your money olmost out of control on a frosty morning!
Maybe it really was. Will have to use bigger baterrie next time.
@@widescreennavel Mk1/2/5 had a shorter nose, the longer nose was added on the Mk9.
came in hot and missed the carpet, but, you got on the ground without damage, good landing.
Great Spitfire, great flying, great video, by great brothers. GOOD STUFF!
Great history lesson too. I might add.
Perfect! The sun, the moon, the brothers, the plane, and the sound of chicken calling in the background. Perfect!
@@ddream777 Thanks Phil.
Thanks for iind words.
Quite a timing so early in the morning. The rising sun and the fading moon! 👍🏻
As always, great video. You guys are the best!
Another great take off from the Skipper with the excitement in his laugh as he gets the Spitfire MK2 into the air! Great flying as the landing comes close to the carpet, but its still in one piece, ready to fly once again. A great video from his First Mate, Gilligan. I Salute you two again! SALUTE! 🛩
you Guys are amazing flying at the field at 6-30 am , the Spit is brilliant aircraft my favourite, I have a 1/4 scale and I am scared to death to fly her it has took me 6 years to build and is ready to fly well done guys
They even flew the full size ones with possible crashing in view...lol
Mmmmm Fresh mole is a delicacy here , You're lucky to have so many , Hahaha .
Great job Brothers .Love this plane . Nice maiden flight and bouncy landing . The lights are a pretty bright . if it's possible , can you please show the battery placement when you're installing them or after the flights in future videos ? The videos are very helpful so far .
Just got mine the udder day , Hoping to do the unbox and maiden very soon . Hope it goes as well as yours . SALUTE !!!
If I play the video at .5 speed ,It looks very realistic. Which I enjoy.
OH YEAH 🇬🇧🇸🇮🕊️✌🏼
Ah the Durafly Spitfire :) I had my Mk V out this morning and it was perfect too!
GOOD MORNING ROBERT AND BLAZ'🇸🇮🇬🇧
Good morning Mike. Just came back from runway doing 3 maiden flights 😊

awesome video, you guys are the best,i am now in a good mood, capt.blaz you see good,,yessss, lol big salute from chi town
Love watching your videos! Great job flying the Spitfire!
Oh yes!! good morning my friends
The lights look great.
Hi - this plane is so perfect that is copying to the perfection the Spit - dance on the landing .😅😅😅 That was amazing. If you guys seen The Battle of Britain movie ,( 1969) is an unforgettable scene there when a young pilot named Simon ( Nicholas Pennell) , is landing his Spitfire after a training mission and forgets to lower his landing gear . The GC officer warns him by shooting across his nose with his flare gun. After aborting at the limit he lands his Spitfire almost the same manner like Pilot Robert here🤣🤣🤣 .....- Simon is picked up by the squadron leader Skipper ( Robert Shaw ) who ask him - How many hours you have in Spit's Simon ? - Ten and an half Sir ! - Well ,make that eleven ,before Jerry has you for dinner ! ....That's one of the reasons why I follow your channel Pilot Robert & Captain Blaz your flying displays and good mod brings back the need to revisit movie masterpieces like Battle of Britain every time. Thanx a lot .👍👍👍
Best plane in the world!
The elliptical wing design always looks so majestic! Do you have any giant warbirds to fly for us soon? Greetings from South Eastern U.S.A!! Ohhhh yeaaashhhh!
Nice plane love the spitfire. I think you need to concrete your runway
yes, well everyone needs a flat smooth runway. but there not cheap.
Really love this plane my brother thank you and your brother for such great videos .
I'd like to see you bring this one back, she really looks nice, after you work out the CG.
Thanks again for the history lesson. Interesting factoid about the red tape.
bit heavier battery i think
Love you guys! Always entertaining!
Great vid !
Thanks my friend.
Oh yeah, dis REALLY IS IT!!!! My ultimate favourite WW2 plane - ever.... U guys r just legends!!!!! Oh Yeah!!!!!!!!!
great flight have you though about maybe treated plywoof under the runway mat to help with landing and takeodd have a great day from Frank Florida
4:52 lol
5:43 the reflection is cool
Very nice!
Thanks.
Fantartic pilot🇬🇧
Fantastic even😂
The red patches over the gun ports were so that when the A/C returned for refuel and weapons to load. They would only need to replace the rounds in the guns which could be seen had fired. which saved time so they could get back in the air faster. Great video as always Thanks
That was a bonus reason, but it was primarily to keep the gun barrels dry and clear of debris.
Look at Dis. OH YEAHHHHHHH 😘. This Old Man's wants list grows everytime y'all film a maiden 🤣. Great flying Pilot Robert and awesome video Capt Blaz. Do love me some Brothers. ✈️🧔💝💝💝
You need good old fashioned mole traps guy’s I know there not liked today but only way to get rid of them find there tunnels and put them in , the humps are where they put all the stuff that’s caved in , great vid guys big salute 🫡 from the British mole killer lol 😂 , Gaza 🇬🇧
That thing just spit on the fire!! 🤓🤣 Great flight Captain Robert. Nice work on the camera Captain Blaz, are you going to fly something soon??
Really nice Spitfire HobbyKing.
AirHammer out!!
Oh yeah another warbird from Durafly the magnificent Spitfire! Another question pops up, did you ever remaiden the Avios Spitfire? I would like to see that also...I salute you both!
I feel as though a 2200 4s isn't heavy enough for the CG. Mine is 230g and pushed forward. It needs to be more like a 2600 at 270g for a better nose weight. Even your Zippy 260g lipo still needed trimming to keep that nose down.
‘Splat Flips !’
I think that's a good price for my favourite warbird
Ok. It’s officially your fault for making me want one of these!!
19:09 ...🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺...😂😂😂...spring chicken to shinning hawk ...in one easy lesson . dakakadakadakadak !!! 🍺🍺🍺👍
SPLAT FLIPS.😊
Sicking air2 s army out
👍
A Turnigy Ghaphene Panther 2200 4cell all the way to the front will balance it out perfectly, i fly with that battery in mine.
👍👌
Who cares lol, I'll watch while I cover my new model, cheers 👍 Fun guys ... I've never stuffed it in my socks! 😁👍
Have fun Cliff
Mate your a funny bastzrd love your accent and videos your a CHAMPION
Hey guys drill a few holes in the rc tables to let out the water eh!
God what a sexy plane and to think they were designed to kill other humans and there planes.
Drill some drain holes in the tables
Thanks for the story Robert ! Blaz needs to eat he's a little shaky today . Maybe his arm is tired from all the tossing .
Salute 🫡
Big salute back.
Was just thinking about when your next video would be posted and hey what is dis!!! Notification popped up so I'm first to comment!! Hope you and your families are all well
Thanks for support my friend. We are great. Thanks.
Cheers!! 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Great Video guys as always. What kind of brand of batery and transmitter are you using. TIA
I have the same issue with the Galloping Ghost, it pitches up too much even with the battery pushed forward as much as possible but it glides pretty good. I added a thin washer behind the top engine mounts to angle it down a bit more. It helps a bit but still an issue and trimming it down too much makes it fly like shit.
put in a blacktop runway?
When will you add light for the runway?
That would look awesome.
Bless you captain Blaž for calling the mole that name 😄😄🤣🤣
12:07...just like in the Battle of Britain movie when FlgOff. Simons lands ...😅😅😅...How many hour's you done in Spi'ts Simons ? ...Ten and a half Sir !!! ...Well...make it eleven before Jerry has you for breakfast !!!
Drill some drainage holes in your work tables and they'll last many more years.
Ground patrol at dawn kkkkk
Great time for filming 😁
So many moles but never seen any on video. Try to catch one fellas. ;)
Would be one great video for sure 😁
HHHHaaaa he don't care how hungry you are mate
Who/where is Robert's shirt from? "Hand toss this." I want one.
I owned the MkVB version they sold about 5 years ago and also had to mess aggressively with the CG to get it to fly right. I also flew it on a Lemon Stabilized Receiver, which helped matters considerably. About 2 years back I took the aircraft off and forgot to check stabilization was on, and the bird got far away from me... and low. I lost orientation and she went in. No parts available as this is what Hobby King does. Total loss.
I check stab function before every flight on every airframe now.
hey I know, how about some scale take offs and landings???
👍👍
P.S.
I have no more socks - it is just an ankle ring with a huge hole in front ..
("summer time when the livin is easy .. " - what idiot said that ..? 😉🙃)
Wot!!??? R the moles back?????? Blas, it's time for the oxy/acetylene trick.......
Blaz I can hardly recognize your skinny little wrists without your watch on. 😆Hope you're doing well.
told you them moles are terminators they cant be destroyed
Its really sick.
