The Spitfire is one of my childhood favorites. I was a young boy in Wiltshire, UK when they were filming the movie "Battle of Britain". During school hours, we'd see all kinds of WW2 aircraft flying overhead, sometimes with fake smoke belching from engine cowlings. One of the Heinkel 111s that was being filmed for the movie flew directly over our school during playground time and began to emit really dense movie smoke from the right engine. As you might imagine, all the boys in the playground started screaming about how another "Jerry" had been hit and we were having a whale of a time. As a Royal Air Force brat, I got to spend some time up close and personal with some of the movie aircraft, including my personal favorite, the Spitfire. It's a shame that Britain hasn't been able to/chosen to restore and showcase older aircraft like the US has been able to. Granted, it's an expensive proposition, but once people like myself pass, all those experiences that I had pass too.
That's one amazing aircraft but that follow footage is crazy too!!
This review is awesome and the p38 review is the reason why I will order the Prusa Mk3 and 3dprintlab models but guys...I get "seasick" real fast and would like to suggest not to video only left turns, please fly some figure 8's, much more pleasing for the eye and the stomach :):) Keep up your fantastic work!
Ordered my mk3 in feb. I comes in april. This will be one of my top 10 first prints. If you're going to order one just remember they're on a good 2 month delay trying to get them made and shipped. Even the kit version

I am in awe with this plane, what a wonderfully built machine. Up until recently, I was living near a monument to two spitfire pilots who died during a dog dighting training accident. I was privileged every year to witness two Spitfires roar a mere 200 feet right above my house in a full speed pass. Thanks to the boys at flight test for your great content and thanks to Stefan (?) For an amazing design.

The Supermarine Spitfire has to be one of my favorite aircraft ever.

The use of clear filament for that was a first class touch! Looks amazing, great to be able to see the internal structure!

I love WW2 war birds. That spitfire was beautiful, so graceful. Josh, the way you flew that plane was majestic. That spitfire would look awesome with WW2 markings and the RAF paint scheme. Fantastic job.
They need to print a Bf 109 E and fly them together.

Incredible job and so humble when you just say "3D printed" !! In fact, when we see the in flight capacity of this model, it's obvious that to obtain the requested stifness of the 3D-printed structures is an engineer work by itself. I'm much much impressed !

I know nothing of RC or 3D printing, but I can feel the love and enthusiasm in spades, you blokes make great ambassadors to spreading the love of your hobby. Art and science make perfect bedfellows, something we suspected all along.
Absolutely a beautiful plane and the flight was amazing, now all it needs is a great paint job to do it justice.

Awesome, i recently got a large 3d printer. i will definitely have to 3d print some of his planes, they look so scale. i really like it when they are so realistic.
Another great thing about these 3d printed planes is that if it takes a hard landing or crash, you can just 3d print the broken parts overnight and be flying the next day. Great stuff FliteTest, i am liking these 3d printed plane videos👍👍👍
The beauty of the design is that even with this large scale model, an i3 sized printer is all you need, no need to go large format.
I have an i3 clone so 200x200x200 build volume and I will be printing one of these soon.
yeah, mine is 300x300x400mm. it's quicker to have a larger bed because you can print more things at one time.
Truth is no matter the size it can all pretty much get printed! Ha 3D lab prints has done an amazing job with all the designs and we’re def looking forward to working with them even further ;)
How are all the parts attached together? ( This is blowing my mind, entirely)
Just superglue it, put some activator on and done! You can find all the montage vids on the designers website.

I built his PT 17, and it is a joy to fly. Also the Me 109 H.. Even after a few rough landings, they hold up perfectly. They look and function amazingly.

That is quite simply bloody awesome!!
Goggles and drones have taken radio control to a whole new level. I have not flown rc but your videos are first class. I own a Cygnet SF2A whose wings are geodesic construction with standard 4130 for fuselage and tail surfaces. Ceconite covered. Wings are extremely strong and fabric is glued on. No rib stitching.

I use my 3-D printer for all kinds of usefulness every day. It is the most efficient way to prototype ideas ever invented. I can think up a solution, draw it, and print it into reality in the same day!
