    Your videos have a good flow to them and just the right density. When I started out and didn’t catch something I would just rewind, but I would rather do that than you drawing things out which a lot of others do. This also makes revisiting your videos later after I have progressed more enjoyable without me wanting to fast forward, and I will catch some detail the second time around. Keep it up!

    Metaballs are neat. It's basically strength 1 in the middle, 0 at the outer ring, and then you add them all up and there's stuff wherever it gets higher than 0.5. So if you have three within the outer third of each other, there will start to be meta. You can do a lot of stuff with them.
    I think I'll try doing several of your tutorials, with a space environment with throbbing meta balls in it or something. :-)

  • @EDITMODE
    @EDITMODE 5 лет назад +3

    I might be mistaken, so ignore me if I'm entirely wrong, but it seems if you change where the hairs emit (you changed it from faces to verts) it simply does just that, rather than actually reducing the # of hairs being emitted. So it appears there are less hairs since they're not spread across each face. But they're still stacked on each other at each vert. So you still have the same # of hairs, it just looks like less depending on where itll emit from. If you want a reduced hair count, you can change that setting separately. It looks like you have it set to 1000 (I can't see if you added children) so of you change to (emit from vert) AND reduce the hair count, then the # of hairs would actually be reduced.

    You don't have to use the wireframe modifier to hide the object. In the particle settings, go to Render and uncheck "Show Emitter". This will hide the object in the render, but not the particles.

      Yeh but you will have to use Cycles which will take ages to render out each frame, that is what EEVEE was primarily designed for , rapid prototyping of concepts for pre production because it’s less precise it can render out a frame in a few seconds instead of minutes or tens of minutes.

    You move too fast on this tutorial and that makes it hard to follow. Even more when you don't express the hotkeys you are pressing most of the time. If you don't want to express the hotkeys you press, that way you can maintain momentum on the video, consider installing a program to display the pressed keys as you press them.

    • @gower1973
      @gower1973 5 лет назад

      Alex Mclaren Not sure what you mean in the export, but in order for it to cycle you would need to open the dope sheet or the curve editor and make the animation cyclic, but you would need to increase the number of frames to a multiple of 120, then it would repeat

    Great content. Just have 1 request. S l o w d o w n. :P I'm a newbie, well, I've been a newbie for a long time... I think with 2.80, It's finally at a point where I feel it's a more friendly environment. I have been dodging it for a while just because I would get lost too easily and couldn't get my views back. Now, I feel like I can do this, but I'm hoping to find tutorials that keep us slower guys in mind. I had to rewatch a few parts several times to catch what you were doing like at 4:27 I didn't catch where your mouse went. Took me a bit. Most likely when I get up to speed, I won't have this problem. It's more a problem with me than you. I just need someone who will allow me to catch everything until I can get up to speed. With that said, I guess it's good that you do several tutorials along the same way. Thanks for your tutorial! I'll be watching as many as you have so that I can get up to speed with everyone else.
