    I agree with everything specially with the rock and work with what you got part. I don't care about other people beard hair. I don't care about straighteners. I wouldn't change my mass of curls and waves for anything in the world. Even if it's a PITA to style. 😸👍

      Yes, it is Said that a conditioner like beardoil will create a layer on the hair to prevent it from burning. So what is it. I always use beardoil befor i use my straightener. My hair never burnt, but i keep the brush moving

      See what works for you, the great thing about beards is its your own and what works for Dan C may not work for you etc etc

      Yeah i noticed that too but i think there is some nuance to it. Here is my brief take, beard oil before can be good but the heat in question NEEDS to be below any and all smoke points of the product, many beard oils feature no synthetics and only oil still feature oils that can hit smoke point at as low as about 300F/150C, with scent and any small bit of synthetics it can be well under this. If you aren't sure look it up for all and any types of oil in said beard oil, whatever the weakest link is. Hair driers rarely get this hot but its common practice for cheap beard brush style straighteners to have minimum well above this. I know some say "don't worry" about the smoke but if you are exceeding the smoke point of the oil then i have trouble imagining you aren't flash frying your beard a bit.
      Beyond that any research on "hair bubbles" will tell you that 250F/125C is where it can start happening, at this temp requires time but Oil of any type is a great at transferring heat so you really don't need much time at all if brush is set beyond 250. Everyone is different but especially if you apply first i think its best to avoid any high temps especially with Heated Beard Brushes, anything beyond low/medium setting on Blow Drier. If you do use a brush get one with low enough settings, or be exceptionally carefully to spend very minimal time on or over said hairs.

      Wash/rinse your beard, apply oil, wait 5 minutes so oil can absorb and then apply heat. No heat means no protection for the hairs. Argon oil is a heat shield. If you have any questions do some research and go with who you trust.

      Use oil before… 15 minutes before, let it soaked in and protect, not straight away so it’s “wet”.

    6. Don't listen to female influencers when they judge beard styles. Your beard is about YOU. Any woman in your life will learn to love it or you can compromise like adults. If not, ex to the next.

    As has been mentioned, oil on a damp beard prior to heat is what works best for me. I use a blow dryer everyday and sometimes a heated brush and have never had heat damage. Otherwise I agree with the other points.

      Hey bro, if it works for you then keep it rolling! Personally, I prefer to just wet my beard a little, the water steams off which also helps with a bit of straitening. To each their own though brother!

    Wait. Why does everyone else say to use oil before blow dry? I'm so confused. My research shows argan oil is great to protect beard from blow dry heat

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  Год назад +1

      Beard oil is intended for the skin underneath the beard, not the beard itself. Also, when oil gets hot it tends to cook a bit which you don't really want on your beard. It begins to break down a tad as well. Personally, I use a little water then apply the oil to my skin underneath, then the butter to help hold the shape

    put on oil after blow drying? nonsense.

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  Год назад

      Oil cooks and boils under high heat! It's also meant for the skin under the beard, not the hair itself. We recommend using a bit of water when applying heat, as that just steams or evaporates off!

      @@livebearded what about when letting the oil dry for 5 mins like i do? personally, i think applying oil after seems odd because i use a dryer to help style. i don't think i'd wanna go in messing it all up after styling.

    If beard oil is for skin, then why don't you sell your with an oil dropper?🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

      Hey dude, we totally get ya! We noticed restrictor tops provide more control for our oils, which is why we stick to them. You could read all about it on our website, we have a whole article about it! 👌If you really want to use droppers, they're still a perfect fit to our 1oz bottles so you could just switch 'em up if you'd like! 😊
