I always appreciate the guidance that you guys are providing. I'm no expert, but it's definitely important for me to be able to fully maintain my beard & mustache on my own. I've just heard too many horror stories of beard trims gone wrong at the hands of professionals. Keep the great content coming, brother!
Thanks for the awesome feedback brother! Sometimes we go into these videos like, "I wonder if guys really even pay attention?" Ha! Good to know there are people watching and learning. We appreciate you brother!
been using the products for years all natural stuff no discomfort for sensitive skin great maintenence content and sponsored barbers all over the states💪💪
I clipped my top line using an envelope as a guide (nice and straight and contoured to my cheek). I trimmed down the burns and got it just right this time. I leave the fly-a-ways…there are none that I think are wild enough for me to fix right now. When I have in the past, I have messed up. The under beard is okay for now. Thanks for your guidance. As always, brother…BEARD ON!
Great advice, been growing my beard for about a year now. I've been through all the mistakes mentioned here but finally well on my way to an established, shaped beard. Thanks for all the advice.
I use my phone on video to rotate it side to front then side to give me a good idea of what it looks like then go to my mirror like yours and trim as needed
If, suppose, you wanted to go from that handlebar mustache, to an executive mustache, how would you cut it without messing up the goatee underneath? I feel like the chances of things going wrong are very high. Any tips?
After 2 years, I'm definitely starting to think about trimming my beard and it's great to have these types of videos to show me how to start Question - Spencer I see you "hedge trimming" your beard, but I've heard the flyways that you cut today are part of tomorrows awesome beard day. Over time aren't you losing density and thickness in your beard by trimming these hairs, instead of managing them using styling oil and balm?
It depends. If the side of your beard is thin, then you'll want to protect every hair, but if you have good coverage, then you can focus more on neatness.
Hey brother, great question. We suggest that you style your beard before a trim because we style our beards every day, therefore that is how our beards look every day. We keep a consistent look this way, and while some fly always pop up here and there, we aren't trimming every single day so we don't lose much density of fullness in our beard. Some parts of your beard will grow faster than others, in most cases, so this helps keeps them all even and with a really clean and full look. We don't use balms though, as they tend to have a stronger hold with a more tacky feel and may actually off put your beard. We suggest these methods using Live Bearded Butter because of the light to medium hold and the soft feel it keeps your beard! Have a great day brother, let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you in any way.
Hey brother, he asked us our opinion so we suggested what works for us. Our products aren't for everyone, and we aren't here to pitch those. We're here to support beardsmen in any way we can. He asked an honest question and we gave an honest answer based on our personal knowledge and experience. We got everyone's back, regardless of products used. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
Hey, I'm late, but using live bearded products is the best move I've ever made for my face. Completely wasted money on the other brands I've used. No more dry hair, no more itch, no more beard dandruff, smells amazing, and almost everytime I go out to a show at my favorite bar there's been a girl who feels my beard. If that happened before LB I would have been embarrassed for someone to feel it, now its incredibly soft and smells incredible and I've never been more proud of my face 😁
Live Bearded had a bundle ship today and looking forward to doing a video on everything. Love the branding, love the products and absolutely love the message. 💯
you can always take some hair growth supplements like our Beard Boost, or use a derma roller on the areas that are a bit thinner than others! Check out our page on beard growth! livebearded.com/collections/beard-growth
Hi brother, trying to mimic your beard Spencer. Really well done sir. Just wondering do you ever at any point use a guard to go over your whole beard to keep it from getting "too thick"? I'm assuming you have a certain thickness that you prefer. I tried your treating the beard like a hedge but wondering if you eventually use a guard. If so what guard number do you usually use? Any info would help me as I am trying to avoid barbers at the moment. Also about to order a batch of your products this week. Great work guys thank you for all that you guys do. ✌ from a bearded brother in Canada.
Jacob Albers Hey I appreciate your advice thank you. My beard is just above my Adams Apple so I have a little more growing to do. I noticed that my hairs at the bottom of my beard flare outward. Is it because they need to get a little longer so they hang down more? Or would that be part of the treat it like a hedge and come down to get rid of them?
Hey bro, gravity will take over after it gets some length. You can always get some butter and use a blow dryer and good quality brush or comb as well! Hardest part is just leaving it alone for about 4 months while your growth patterns really come through.
Live Bearded Hey thanks bro I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question. It's this time where the beard is not quite right that I find hard. But i think it's worth it!! I look forward to the notification bell to go off for the next video! Great work, Cheers✌
Great video! I have a question,I shaped my beard today i am at 3 weeks of growth, i took my nickline about a finger above the adam's apple, yours is exactly at it, so should i shave it and start over? i'm aiming for the full beard like yours
Hey bro. First off, a finger width above is where you should be. Second, we suggest not touching your beard at all for 3-4 months aside from your neck line and cheek line. So, you seem to be on the right track so long as you leave everything else alone!
Spencer I would like to ask you a question. I am loosing lots of hairs on a daily bases, is there a reason why this can be happening? My beard is kind of curly and I am using my Beard Shampoo, Beard Oil and Beard Balm, also I need to wash it 2 time a day because of work and also because I had some problems with pimples so when I started washing it up twice a day that problem with the pimples was over. At this point I have almost 11 months growing out my beard. Thanks bro I really appreciate your help.
Hey brother! Losing beard hairs is normal. You can lose upwards of 100 a day in some cases, and it's just fine. But be sure that the products you are using are all natural with NO chemicals, especially of you are washing twice a day. Obviously we suggest using our Live Bearded line of all natural wash, oil and butter, but even if you do not choose us, read the ingredients. This will not only help your beard, but your skin as well!
@@livebearded yes and it might be that since your beard is getting longer you might notice it more then when you had real short beard hairs so it might seem you are loseing more hair
I like to drink beer and I use a giant glass mug and the beer/foam that goes into my bear I leave it there. Been able to grow a beard since I was 13. I obviously shower and wash it but I leave the fallen beer in it. I believe it works like how old people use to was babies heads with beer lol to make their hair grow
That's how it's done! Just be sure to trim off the split ends (if you have any) or the see through areas that may not be as thick as the rest of your beard!
Hey brother, great question! That's honestly preference. Some people enjoy a longer look while others prefer it tight and flush to their face. There is really no right or wrong answer for sideburns!
Yessir! As long as you are using a high quality, all natural wash with good ingredients your beard should be fine. Especially if you pair that with beard butter! Find the best if both here: www.livebearded.com
Great question brother and one that we have a couple videos on in our channel if you need to see it visually. Check out the video below and the point of reference you will want to watch is at about the 5:30 mark! Hopefully this helps brother. ruclips.net/video/CMpeVpRtR_s/видео.html
That's not how you trim a beard bud.. you trim with the grain, then clean it up. Never against the grain. Because you'll take off hairs you don't need and your line will not be clean

Can't even begin to explain how much this helped me thank you sir
It's all love brother! 🤝
I've had a beard for about 10 years and I've never trimmed it correctly. Thank you!

Happy to help, and thanks for letting us know. We truly appreciate the feedback and this is why we make the videos, so glad they're useful.
Well done, Great video with all the tips needed.
From personal experience avoid trimming a beard or moustache when you need to, do it when you want to

Try taking a 3 or 4 and follow down your cheeks and go straight down, and don’t follow the chin inward.

Love to see you trimming your beard.. Great tips.. Just wanted to ask you what product you have on your hair..
Spencer uses the access Live Bearded beard butter from grooming his beard in his hair also. Works great for both beard and hair on your head! ✌🏻
Very useful info.

Bro, I would advice you to stop trimming your own beard for some time, it looks unsymmetrical in the body of the beard. Otherwise you do decent job
Be gone troll

That's not how you trim a beard bud.. you trim with the grain, then clean it up. Never against the grain. Because you'll take off hairs you don't need and your line will not be clean
My advice...don’t trim ya beard ever! Just find a product that will style ya beard and keeps it neat. Beard trimmer in hand = danger!
