You give the clearest directions of any sewing tutor I have found on RUclips. It is always a pleasure to watch one of your videos. These coasters look like something I could do with my granddaughter. Thank you so much!
Thanks for such great instructions, hint when I sew any circle that has batting or backing, I cut out the batting the exact size and use my zipper foot to sew really close to the batting (but not on it) this will take out any bulk it turns great. I follow all your other instructions. Thanks again.
Brilliant... Fusible batting! Novice sewer here! 👋 Tried making cat head shaped mug rugs last week... Cut out my pieces & started sewing! Disaster... After 2 attempts I remembered this sandwich technique, mercy so much easier! Wish I saw this first & saved myself some frustration...😏
This is how we all learn. Trial and error……. I usually make a minimum of a dozen samples to achieve best sewing methods for my projects before even filming. I test different sizes, fabrics methods etc…… Thanks for watching.🙏
@@NotchesSewing I can only imagine what it takes to perfect a project to film... If it wasn't for creators like yourself, my machine would still be sitting in the floor in it's box! I'm so thankful & appreciate all you do... 🙏 Btw, my project came out good & the recipients loved them. 🤭 Next up, hot pads & pot holders in the shape of our state for my 71 yr old Mama who loves college sports! 🤞😌
I made these last year and everyone has commented on how cute they are, this year I supersized them and have hung them on a wall. Thank you for your clear instructions and giving us all the confidence to be creative
Thank you for your tutorials. These are so cute and easy to customize. It is definitely easier to sew them before you cut the round shapes. Thanks again!
What a super cute idea! I think I can whip up two quickly and put in my baby girl’s care pack I am getting ready to send. She got married in September and it is her first Christmas away from us! 😊
I was thinking how cute Christmas ornament coasters would be, so I searched for some tutorials~ lo and behold, you had made this one 2 years ago and somehow I missed it! You are my absolute favorite~ your voice is so soothing and I feel I can sew anything because you make it so easy. You’re like the Bob Ross of sewing! I absolutely love the idea of cutting after stitching. What a time saver. I made some autumn coasters and cutting all that fabric was a pain. I wish I’d have thought of that myself! ☺️
I made some similar coasters, but quilted and without the hanging ties. I am gifting them to friends. I love your instructions, so clear and easy to follow, thank you. I also made a fabric folded Christmas tree ornament. That is the cutest! Merry Christmas to you!!
I absolutely agree with Jessica Jones! I truly enjoy your videos. Not only are the directions clear but your voice is so soothing. I too think these would be a great project for kids. Depending on the fabric used, they can be either cute and adorable or elegant. I just love them!❤❤❤
LOL I know what you mean😊. Was thinking maybe spay Scotchguard on them???? but then won’t be absorbent….. Thanks for watching. Please check out some of my other videos. Cheers!
Thanks Pat. I know there are a million coaster videos out there but these are really fun and easy. I was inspired from some of the things I used to make decades ago for the tree. Thanks again for watching.🙏
Wow this is sooo cool it wiil go with my Christmas décor and it do not looks hard to do. Wow!! I'm so excited it will look beautiful and complete my Christmas décor. Thank you for sharing.
This is So Cute Well Done, Love The Ornament Coasters. Would Like to Know if you have ever made a hanging shoe rack? Like the over the door. Thank You. Have a Great and Blessed Day
I LOVE your easy to follow instructions for all projects. Thank you so much. I have made 18 coasters. Now I am really temped to top stitch the coasters around the edge? What do you advise?
That’s great! Aren’t you ahead of the game for xmas!😊 I didn’t topstitch so it would look a bit more round like an ornament. Just test it out on some scrap to see if you like the look.
Awesome and cute 🥰 excellent tutorial! Up close shots are so good to show us the target we are to aim for when making this . This is why you’re. One of my favourite RUclipsr ! I will be making this ! Thank you 🙏🏻 so much Angela ! Everything I make from your site comes out so good . 👍👍 that’s a credit for you more than me….I try hard cause your videos encourage me to do it well.
Thank-you for the wonderful tutorial. The coasters look easy and cute.I agree that it is easier to sew the square.I hope to make a couple before Christmas .I hope that you have a Merry Christmas xx💖
There you go again. Brilliant idea as always. Now that the holidays are behind us , is there a way to use this all year long? I need a idea of something else to hang them on until needed. Please help.
This is my first time tuning into your channel and I'm glad I did. Your tutorial was so easy, step by step and clear cut. I'm gonna try this. Thank you for sharing your ideas.👍🏾👍🏾
I was thinking of making a Charlie Brown Christmas tree for the inside of my front door. Your Christmas Ornaments fabric coasters would be perfect, with Christmas cards, on that tree. I can not put up any kind of tree; because, my cats will turn it over and break the lights and real ornaments. So a quilted Charlie Brown Christmas tree will be perfect for the cats and I. I am also trying to down size. These fabric ornaments don't take up much space. I can now give away my old ornaments (that I have not used in over 12 years). Thank you for this video. Please stay safe.
ADorable! Love these and your easy to follow instructions Angela. I noticed on these that you hand sewed the opening instead of a finish edge stitch. Was curious to learn your thoughts and preference on this. Thank you!
It would be very easy to just close it with an edgestitch but I thought it looks nicer with clean finish as there is no topstitching around the coaster. I didn’t want to flatten the edges and ruin the design. Although its flat, putting topstitching around will make it look like a patch. Think of it like doing a jean hem on a pair of dress pants. Just wouldn’t look as nice…Thanks for watching🙏
Thank you for explaining as I’m learning so much from you. I knew there was a reason in your design! Can’t wait for more, thank you for all the new videos!

Great tip! I just try to eliminate multiple cuts of circles😊
I love your idea of sewing on the circle then cutting. Easier for new sewists.
