    Summary
    1. Stay present
    a. While listening to other people, don't try to translate every word.
    b. Don't try to make a response.
    c. Perfection is the enemy of fluency.
    2. Make English a necessity
    a. Make English speaking friends
    b. Make a commitment to yourself to practice. Whatever your daily life demand might be, try to find a chance to listen. For example, listen on youtube on how to repair a laptop, a recipe...
    3. Movies, TV shows, audio books... that you are interested in.
    4. Listen in many accents.
That's all. Thanks Teela with Deep English!

    Four tips:
    #1 Stay present
    - don't translate every word the other person says in your head.
    - don't try to make your response to what they're saying while they are still speaking.
    - perfection is the enemy of fluency.
#2 Make learning English a necessity
    - make a friend who only speaks English.
    - try to use English to solve daily problems.
    #3 Movies, TV Shows, Audio
    #4 Listen to many accents

Hi there Teela, I just wanted to thank you a lot about the way you teach and speak the English language, I have already learned tons over your amazing videos posted here. I will pretty sure try the tip you shared about watching series and movies with and without subtitles through Netflix. I hope I would be able to improve my listening skill in this way, it might be both fun and helpful. Blessings to you and your crew, Teela.

Thank you very much, dear Teela! Your advice has slightly reduced my confusion. I have been studying English for many years. I understand everything you say (or 90-95 percent), but I need English subtitles for confidence, otherwise I feel like a person without support. At the second listening, I set the speed to 0.75, so that I could also mirror repeat after you. The fact is that I read: working on pronunciation improves listening comprehension. I am a Russian speaker, and the problem of most Russian speakers is that they hardly speak English. Stupor in speaking. I don't know why, but it is. I have reached the Intermediate level in learning English, and I am stuck on it. I started learning German from stress, and I really like it. Only now I was able to return to English. Thank you again.

As Teela says, that's so true. I'm translating the words that person's saying. So, this is the reason. Your video really helped me. Thanks a lot.

Stay present and listen different accents are very nice tips. I'm Argentinean living in Australia and the accent can sometimes be a difficulty. Thanks for this video

Teela, as per your question of what I consider your most powerful recommendation from my standpoint, I could say that your first tip: be present. Concentration is in the "era of scarcity". In empathic communication, the rule 7 38 55 (Albert Mehrabian), where in the message 7% is the content, 38% tone and voice, and 55% body language requires a deep listening. Thanks for sharing.

you speak clearly, so easy to listen. I remember that when I went to Austraila, I was so afraid that I couldn't hear because of their accents.
