Hello..your vidéos are really informative . We can learn English vocabulary, and simultaneously we can improve our general culture. In addiction of that, your way of teaching help us to memorize the words. So...Merci beaucoup
Hello Teella! Thank you very much for the lesson you offered to us. It is very interesting to discover the roots of the words and so easier to remember them
I find the whole performance together with deep knowledge and cleverness wonderful. As a Greek who knows Ancient Greek and Latin these lessons are really a pleasure.
Eureka, after almost 1 year of being practicing English whit Deep (yours), now was my first time than I sow an out lessons activity. And it’s wonderful, thanks. Every Mean Topic was so hepfull and even the simple pronuncie of the Word War help me too
Hi, I enjoy your lessons because they are very interesting, they are helping me to improve and ,the most important thing is that I don't get bored , absolutely not ! thanks
Yours explanations are excellent, your voice is pleasant it is a merit to listen to your lessons. In fact, I love the way you teach.Teela, Congratulations, Sergio Mendonça from Barra Mansa Rio de Janeiro.
Hi Teela, I always learn a lot from your videos, for example, today I learnt that "addict" comes from a Latin word ("addictus"), which probably has the same root as "to add" (i didn't study Latin, so I am just guessing) . Therefore, "to be addicted" means also to be a possession of somebody else (a slave), or a part of something else, as you mentioned. Taking the Greek meaning (logos), present also in Latin Culture, to be addicted to alcohol means to be part of the alcohol concept. I liked very much your interpretation of the words "war = to confuse " , "heal=to make whole" , "heresy= to choose your own belief", and "utopia=look for perfection in a stupid way".
This lesson became useful and effectively for me during the lesson I've learned lots of expressions and new words these are heresy, heretic, pollution, symptom, conflict like these thanks a lot for such a video
Hi Teela, this lesson is really interesting. I like your explanations of the words hidden meaning, especially for the word utopia. I knew its hidden meaning previously, but the way in which you describe it is very charming. It helps me improving my English. Thank you.
I think that heresy is not only understood as making a choice but making a "wrong" choice. I really liked you said we must be brave to make our choices despite the crowd opinnion, but in several times we are making wrongs choices and the people are simply warning us to the bad effects of those decisions. BTW, I really liked your accent and your soft and smoothly way to say and explain the words. Best regards from Brazil.
Hi Teela, thank you for uploading this series of videos. On behalf of myself and many other English learners, I would like you to know videos on idioms helps us a lot more than discussing the meaning/ route of the words. I very much liked your part 2 in which you explained useful English idioms like “let your hair down”.
I learned a new point of view of the meaning of the word addict. Now, I think that an addict is someone who somehow a slave to something or someone else. Thanks a lot for your lesson, Teela.
Great channel, so happy that I founded by accident, great vid thank u , I have a lot of vids to explore, today , I guess I will spend my day with ur amazing vids👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

This lesson is not only understand the meaning of the words but also learn the lesson of life. Interesting meaning of Utopia, no where and Addict, slave.
first thank you so much for helping us to improve our English. I believe, war is dangerous and harmful for humanity because it changes the people s' moral, as they forget the kindness, justice and only think about victory. in my opinion, addicted to everything prevents our progress. I don t know if, thinking about some bad events all the time, is a kind of addiction or it is just a bad habit, anyway it has some bad effects in our life.
Thanks for the video !!!!!! So just wanna know about UTOPIA for the first time you say that it good place or a perfect place but in second in greek it U means NO and TOPIA means place can you be a little clear on that point..... so accordind to you utopia is what?
You chose wonderful words to explain. By the way, being heretic it's unpleasure for others (institution or society), but it's part of the change. If this world would be a utopia (perfect), wouldn't be necessary to be a heretic, right? I enjoy your videos
Hi,Teela! Your wonderful explanation is really informative . We see that there's a lot of contradiction if we compare the original meaning of some words to the current usage of them. The meaning have constantly being modified over the years or even when words become part of another language. I'd say that each passing day, new words are naturally built based on the man's modern needs for specific communication or for fill an empty space with something previously unexisted in a language . Therefore it's a fact that one word comes from another as if the root would be breaking into smallest specific words nowadays, though this be just one of the several ways of morphing words.
I agree with you! In medieval times a heretic was sent to the gallows or burned for going out of the rules, customs or idiosyncrasies of the time. Fortunately, nowadays, we have gained ground because we can express ourselves with more freedom --thanks in part to science and technology.-- However, there are special issues that continue in the trunk because there are those who think that humanity is not prepared to deal with wisdom on some things. In this sense, the word 'heretic' has evolved, thank God.
i knew already most of your words though like 1.war-discord,battle brawl2.heal-treatment,recovery3.addict-crave3.utopia-complete possession of something
