شكرا لك يا جميل
Thank you, handsome.
30/30
Awesome and informative. I have recently made a video on confusing English words.
@@chrismasui6860 B1.5 exactly is not equal to approximately?
When I started watching your channel, I used to be at a b1 level at the very best, now I’m happy to say I’m at the C2 level and I’d like to think a part of the reason I have improved, aside from the classes I took, is because of your teachings. To go from barely understanding what people say in the RUclips videos to being at the very least fluent in English, is crazy to think about, it feels like a whole new sense that I didn’t have, has awakened in me.
When did you start watching this channel?
When did you start watching this channel please?
Can you share with us the schedule to improve English
That's AMAZING Ross! What an inspiring story! I am soooo proud to have been a part of your journey!
Yesterday @@arafatrahman2494
I was perfect up to C1, but I got 1/5 for C2, for a total of 26/30. This encouraged me to learn more. Thank you, Lucy!
Same I got 1 wrong in C1 and 3 wrong in C2 but let's celebrate 🎉
I've never heard of scoff at and auspicious, so I didn't get those 2 :(
As a French speaker, it's really fun to strike the right answer owing to the transparency of advanced words.
Naturellement
Same here, but with spanish 😅
since modern english is a neo french language it's not really a surprise
Native American English speaker here, though I have spent quite a bit of time in the UK and understand British English. My score 29/30. We Americans don't use the word "auspicious" very much, and I missed that one.
Thanks for an interesting test, Lucy. I enjoy watching your videos.
Me too. I have never used the word "auspicious" in any way, although I've seen it in writing a number of times. Using it smacks of verbal snobbery to an American ear. And I've known it to be used to mean "uncertain" or "doubtful", complete antonyms of "promising". Someone might say, "He got off to a rather auspicious start", meaning, "With dubious success". Funny how geographical separation over a long period can sometimes lead to a spin-off of meanings, some of which might have very different or even opposite meanings. In America, younger people might describe something as "wicked", to mean it is really good. I'll bet no one in England ever referred to something they liked a lot, as "bitchin' good". Another American variation is the use of "soccer" instead of "football" and to call a contest a "game", instead of a "match". Forty years ago, soccer barely existed in the American consciousness and when it began to be played more here, we usually applied the word "game" to it and never have called a soccer field a "pitch".
@@stevemcdonald1033 That's exactly how I got "auspicious" wrong. (I'm sure Lucy is cringing over that last sentence.) To me, it's mostly negative. The word soccer is interesting. Though we Americans prefer calling the sport soccer, to avoid confusion with American football, the word soccer actually originated in England, as a shortened form of "association football".
I got 29/30 too and I'm English. "Out on a limb", got me. Knew after the reveal but don't think I ever used it in my life. I'd be more likely to use: "I'm gonna stick my neck out here...."
That's exactly what I got toooo
Exactly me! (I'm British.) I wonder if it's because I watch/listen to a lot of American content? 😁
Thanks!
Nice
Hi Lucy, I did 5/5 correct answers from A1 to B2, 4/5 and 3/5 in C1 and C2, respectively. I'm so happy! In C1 and C2 there were interesting new words, totally new to me.
A1-5/5, A2-5/5, B1-5/5, B2-5/5, C1-4/5, C2-3/5
Total: 27/30
Thank you Lucy for the interesting lesson.
Same here. Same score.
Same here 😊
Same here🌸
The thing I find trickier is not recognising the meaning of vocabulary, which I'm able to do in general, but using it spontaneously in my sentences. Using it yourself is a totally different story.
I see what you mean
Speaking is the best way to activate your passive vocabulary.
8 @@laszloveber7082i think you're right. I wish I had any chance of speaking English more, unfortunately I don't
@@laszloveber7082 true
@@andyczack6652 Yeah, if you were to communicate in a native environment, it would all "come online" slowly. I benefited from a 3-month stay in the USA this year. Before I went there, I was using English only rarely in my native country, and, since I was no longer studying it, I felt like I was starting to forget it. Luckily, it all started to come back once I was in the US. I can only imagine how good my English would've gotten had it been possible for me to stay there for at least a year.
out on a limb : opinion that is different from most people's
auspicious : Promising- happy
Scoff: Mock - laugh
bungle : Spoil / damage
exacerbate: Make worse
I also failed out on a limb. I must confess I haven't heard that one. Ever.
In american, you say Total for Bungle,or screw up- even mess up, he'll blow it.. American is what they speak today. Not english. Cuurent trend.
I got it wrong and I'm English 😂😂😂😂@@oswaldoramosferrusola5235
Bungle synonym is not really correct.
Bungling implies there was a level of ability required and you failed to execute the task skilfully.
A better equivalent of bungled would be...
'f**ked up'.
As in 'you f**ked up' this answer.
Throughout my entire journey, I have never enrolled in any English learning center, not even online. I learned English by watching your videos, and now I'm making videos for my own RUclips channel and receiving a lot of appreciation.
i'm a native English speaker. I only watch these videos so I can pat myself on the back for getting the hard questions correct.
Thanks for the brilliant test Lucy,
A1 : 5, A2 : 5, B1 : 4, B2 : 4, C1 : 4, C2 : 4. I scored 26 out 30
According to your scores it wasn't brilliant test as you start failing at B1 and maintain the same scores up to C2 level.
Same
A1-5,A2-5, B1-4, B2-4,C1-3, C2-1
*I loved this test! My huge gratitude to Lucy for this one!*
*Who's able to guess what score I finally did?!*
I speculate that you have got 25/30.
@@medabdi4440
Yeah, you almost guessed right.
Indeed I've got 29/30! Just 'cause I've been watching Lucy's channel over eight years.
I'm so freakingly proud of myself - as a former GER exchange student to the US multiple decades ago, I incredibly mastered 3 out of 5 questions on the C2 vocab level. Parental advisory: Please most definitely send your kids abroad (or across the Channel) for at least one full year of school, your breed will ultimately benefit from it for the rest of their lives, it's an investion on your kid's future that no doubtedly pays off way sooner than you ever may have thought about. Please pardon my bad English and any mistakes I may have made ar this point. I'm a perfectioness seeking German nonetheless.... Anyhow, I actually do feel very selfconfident to freely and openly interact with native English speakers without any fears of whatsoever. Thank you ever so much for your wonderful YT-channel that has significantly helped unrust my English, 🥰 I simply adore your content, so please keep it up!!!!!
I’m an American, early 40’s, educated, retired from the military and I missed just one question from C1. I enjoyed this assessment!
If even a native person miss, how am I supposed to understand?😄
Greetings from Greece ! I really enjoy your lessons ,you help me improve !
28/30. The last two questions were tricky for me. The new words for me were: to scoff, to scald, to scold, to exacerbate, to mitigate (not a new one, but I completely forgot its meaning).
Even taking this test expands my vocabulary! Thank you!
I almost got it wrong but the preposition “at” after it has left no doubt that it’s scoff.
A1-5/5, A2-5/5, b1-5/5, b2-5/5, c1-3/5, c2 -1/5
Total = 24/30
Same here😂
Thank you. Got everything correct except the word 'bland'. I have never heard of it in my 30 years of speaking English as my secod language. You never stop learning... :)
Obviously you have never watched Gordon Ramsey videos😂
@daniellundqvist5012 indeed
I managed to get 30/30.
As a non-native speaker, I grew up with American English. It was spoken in the motion pictures I watched and wher I am from, most of them aree not dubbed in my native language (unless it is for young children). They are subtitled and that taught me english from a rather young age. This made me realise that I had to change a few words from American English, into British English. Like I would say spare time in one of the questions, but realising that the British would use leisure time.
I do love these tests, although I might have preferred to be presented with open questions, instead of multiple choice ones.
one question tho, how old r u? I ask cuz I've also been taught english since I was in kindergarten, so I wanna know at what age I could master english, I'm sure ur a lot older than me lol 🧐
Hello, Lucy! I am so glad that I got 30/30! Yayy! I love England and the English language and I love watching your English lessons! Please, make more of English level tests because I enjoy them so much and love finding out my total score! Again, thank you and please keep up the good work! Cheers!
Me too!
29/30 (C2 level) - I got one mistake on C2, praise God! Thanks heaps Lucy,
I enjoyed this video!
I'm originally from the Philippines 🇵🇭, but currently based here in Central Asia. God bless you more ...😇
My english is C2 certified, plus my years of reading have allowed me to grasp the spine of the english language such that i easily learn and understand new words without instruction
My score is C2-5. Wanted to share this because I didn’t know English til I was 5, and even then couldn’t get the basic words right, to completely becoming addicted to reading, writing, and speaking English at the age of 6, I became fluent by age 8, and completely fluent by age 10. Now I’m expanding and learning French, Hindi, and Arabic. Have a lovely day guys!
Wow...just amazing ..how did you do
@ as a child, the only way to express myself-the only source I had was writing and reading, therefore I spent years doing that. It just came about naturally, I suppose ;)
Oh that's amazing keep working ❤
For me I learn English, Spanish, and my main language is Arabic
The best language 😊
Ameliorate is a good word to know too.
It means to make something less worse than it might have been if that makes sense. It's more nuanced than just "improved". "Although John was kicked out (of the house) by his wife, the offer of his brother for him to stay in his mansion somewhat ameliorated the situation." 😊
I got 25/30. Thanks for your extremely useful quiz❤️
Hello Lucy! My scors are A1 - 5/5, A2 - 4/5, B1 - 4/5, B2 - 5/5, C1 - 3/5 and C2 5/5. But some of the words I didn't know them and I search the meaning in google translatet. I need to improve my vocabulary and my ability to speak and write in English.
Anyway, thank you for the test Lucy. Love from Greece
Easy. Nailed them all, in seconds.
Me too.
Hello @sharkmolars i want a English speaking partner can you help me with that

I scored particularly higher then I partially imagined! Cudos to what you have taught before Lucy I scored 28/30 that actually astonishes me.
I achieved a 30/30! It seems I am better than I originally thought I'd be. English was one of my favourite subjects though 😊
28/30. I don't think it is bad from a Hungarian, who has never spent a single week in UK or in the USA, however had the chance to work closely with people from these countries. I just love what you are doing Lucy, thank you!
29/30 I always thought that auspicious means unfavorable. Well it's good that I learned something
Same here, I always thought that as well: 29/30

Easier when you think of the opposite: "inauspicious". For example: "Ipswich Town have made an inauspicious start to the season, whereas Liverpool have made an...." 😊
I love these little tests Luce! You should do one of them each month.
I have a B1 level, but this is not the limit of my dreams. It was very nice to see you, Teacher Lucy.
Keep going you'll get there!
me too
Keep challenging, you will be B2 and then C1 after some time
@@journeyneverends_1 Thanks a lot.
I answered all the questions correctly, but for “bungle the presentation” I was not so sure about my choice. Only other options sound too strange to me, so by elimination method I chose the right one.
Not a native speaker, but I daily use English and French for my work. So glad to know my English vocabulary is reasonably good.
I got 2/5 in C1 level. But, i got 4 out of 5 in C2 level.
I am Afrikaans speaking from South afrika , and i had all of them correct.
Thank you.
I go up to B2 level. And I think that's fine by me.
Your channel have me feeling to carry on conversations with confidence 😊😅thank you I was at level zero
I got 28 out of 30
A1- 5, A2 -5, B1 -5, B2 -5, C1 - 3, C2- 4
2:31 lol, "D, hard"
A1=5
A2=5
B1= 5
B2=5
C1= 4 failed the first question
C2= 4 failed the first question
Great Work ... ❣Thank you for sharing. 👍👍😊👍
Dear teacher, I think testing people or specifically students of foreign languages should be about the language and not about the culture because knowing idioms is purely cultural and it has nothing to do with the level of proficiency. Moreover, serious learners of English that follow serious lessons seek for academic English and not for dialects or idioms. By the way I love your content 👍
Languages quite literally evolve through..culture.
C1 I'm proud of myself! Thanks Lucy! I appreciate your youtube tests❤
Three mistakes.
Level B1: fifth question
Level C1: fifth question
Level C2: fourth question
Thanks for showing up;I enjoyed the the test very much! All the same have a great Christmas with Will and everyone else❤❤😂😂
I guessed all of them correctly, but the word 'bungled' is completely new to me.
We never use it. I can only imagine really posh people using it as most people would say: "Well I stuffed that up!" (or worse) 😂
I managed to score 30. The fact that I'm a native English speaker who's been teaching English for many years may possibly have given me an unfair advantage. 🙂
I have a hunch it did give you an unfair advantage maybe just maybe
Ahaha 😅
Are you saying you wouldn't have scored 30 had you not enjoyed your perceived advantage?
I LOVED THIS TEST ❤
A1-5, A2-5, B1-3 (!), B2-5, C1-5, C2-5. Thanks, Lucy, it was tricky and challenging enough, and I loved it
I was quite critical when I started watching this video, but I made two mistakes in B2 and C1 level questions, so thank you for helping me find weak spots in my knowledge. C2 questions were on the spot
When I watched your channel j learnt something and gave time to my English level
Is there an app that I can use to improve my vocabulary? One that will adapt to my level and also show me the words over and over again until I really memorised them? One that I can set up to train me in regard to a certain application, such as formal english, scientific english, phrases and idioms, business english, novel english etc.?
C2 was the most hard for me only one answer correct, but that is why i try to be better by watching your lessons, thanks!
My level is B2 ...
Thank you very much our online teacher Lucy 🙏
It is the best and most serious exam I have ever seen before. Million Thanks. I have a lot to study.
Such a wonderful teacher ❤
Have answered all correct up to B2, C1 - 2/5, C2 - 3/5 :)
As a Chinese speaker I stopped at the first question of C2, but my real ability may be B1-B2 because I've got may inactive words or phrases, I barely use them but when I see them I can recall the meanings.
Also the Spanish helps me a lot because the Spanish shares lots of similarities with the English vocabulary, some words I don't know but they are similar to Spanish so i can guess what do they mean. I worked as a Chinese-Spanish translator and now I've been living in Mexico for 5 years❤ Recently I restarted to study English, thanks profesor Lucy your videos are helping me a lot.❤
Thank you! I got them all right on the first try, that was a good mood moment for today!
Such a wonderful lesson ❤....got all correct except a few of C2 questions
Teacher Lucy when I started your channel I was in A1 now I am happy to tell I am in c to level because of you

It was really fun and informative
Thank you Lucy!
26/30. The last two in c1 and the third and fifth in c2 I got wrong. I need to look these up again. Thanks for making me better.
I am not sure at what level I am or how much I learn, but listening and watching her videos have a calming effect
29/30, failed C1 4th answer: BY account instead of ON account. Thank you Lucy. Love your lessons :)
Thank you for that I have learned a lot of words with the help of your videos
I'm B1 (I take a test at my school) but I think i understand a lot what ppl say in yt videos. But when it comes to using difficult words I'm struggle. You really teach me a lot of difficult words.thank you.
I scored 26! Dint knew i could score this much! Enjoyed completing this test! Thanks again ☺
28.5...
I didn't see 'approximately' as an antonym of 'exactly' and missed the countdown, so I gave me 0.5. (In a written test, no time pressure, I would chose that since all the others were basically synonyms).
... and I never read/heard that 'go out on a limb' expression.
I'm from Brazil and I'm pretty happy with the result.

C1 and C2 it was very difficult for me but I enjoyed doing this.
English is my second language and based on most tests my CEFR level was B2.However I scored 29/30.I didnt expect to score so high!
Thank you Lucy for this lovely test.
30/30, but I gotta admit I went with my gut on Q29. 'Bungled' just has such a nice ring to it and it IS kinda fun to say.
And Q30 had to be 'exacerbated', since the other words all have a positive meaning. If the options had been different I might have just bungled it.
Got 29 of 30. Got wrong only “to go out on a limb” probably because I live in the US for too long - never heard anyone using that idiom😅🤷♂️
Love your videos 😊
I got the same one wrong and I'm English!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

29/30. Didn’t know the word scoff, or any of the others. And for the bungled, also didn’t know but the other options didn’t look right, so I count that as a pass.
