Thank you for another amazing video JB! The blue background (intro-conclusion) is nice and relaxing. :) I have to say that the split screen is an outstanding feature. I take lots of notes from my PDFs and the side notes are definitively helpful. Also, when solving math problems from a book the side notes are a huge plus. Another use is when sketching from a photo or something (photo left- Sketch right). Excellent! I think that is a must for all note taking devices. I am currently using Onyx devices and they have the same feature. It is perfect! Thank you again for this great video!
Thank you so much, I can't wait too for the RM2!!- thanks for the support I have some Rocketbook videos coming this week and some others - :) Thanks as always
These will be super popular on film and TV shoots where pages of a screen play get added and removed daily, if they could just do that electronically, that would save tons of paper. (and would also probably mean one less PA on a shoot)
Next level review. Cool to see your channel develop. Never lose the genuine energy and honest impressions. Have you considered comparing the Supernote A5 to the remarkable?
harewoodm thanks yes saving up some funds for that. I have to buy everything LOL and yes I will always be that way :) Thank you so much for the support!!!! You ROCK!!!!
Good presentation and comparison. Having recently bought a Boox Max3 I am a bit underwhelmed by the limitations of the Quadreno. If you feel inclined I would love to see your comparison of the two. Glad your studio is working out so well. Great job.
great video - just little bit unsharp but your set-up is getting better and better. Quaderno is just a huge device. I would never take this device out of house, to customer meetings, airplane, train etc. for me i still like the RM1 and how fluent the system is. Having everythig organized in folders, fast accessable is the key for me and moving notes in and out like i want is important. On the RM1 i have the schedule / calendar etc. as an PDF template on my homescreen. so if i start my day i have one Weekly / Monthly / 3 Monthly template i can look at and organize mysielf in the morning. I just noted that i dont use that planning template that much since everything sits on the phone/outlook/webex apps etc. I do use those templates only for milestones, planning etc. daily calls i do not put in there. For me its only about taking meeting minutes via QuickSheet and than moving them at the end of the week to a separte project folder. Thats it. For me the RM1 does the job. Friggling around with two pages i dont want. Just trying to keep that all easy and simple.
I am with you, if I JUST had the RM1 I have no issues. Since I launched this channel just trying different devices which is fun. You rock AGAIN for commenting thank you!!
Janice, thank you - I think the issue is if you are going to use it primary as a reader or notetaker? These 2 are amazing notetakers but not great readers for books - pdf's ok. I think the Onyx Max 3 with Android offers more flexibility as a reader, and less as a note taker. If we could fit them all in one device!!! Thanks for the support and watching the channel. :)
@@morningcoach agree: max3 is better than remarkable for reading (specially pdf file in A4 form). It is also faster in moving along the pages. However, still the remarkable is better for note taking: better sensation, less lag. But the final output is better on the max3: smoother lines.
I wouldn’t pay $750 on Fujitsu for a bigger screen to do tasks side by side or read scientific pdf. Price tag is too steep for what it’s. I buy ReMarkable II for taking note and reading pdf & ePub. Doing one thing at a time is productive tho, plus that amazing files system!
Frank, right with you, I have it here so that is why I am using it. Can't WAIT for the RM2. My channel is finally growing enough to buy these devices. Not making money but at least close to even. :) Thanks for the comment and adding to the channel.
I want to have an e-book reader and a notebook in one device, the Fujitsu Quaderno A4 is just too big for an e-book reader. My hope is that the remarkable 2 will fix the issues that the remarkable 1 has. Great video by the way keep it up
Thanks so much, ME TOO on the RM2 - the Onyx products are great readers but I don't like them for note taking. I am hoping the RM2 rocks in that area. Will have my review up as soon as it comes up - thanks for the support!!
Excellent For university students who read textbooks and scientific articles and want an ereader.... Choose 13 inches size ereader . 10 inches size is not enough. This is from my experience. I bought onyx note pro which is 10 inches. Unfortunately I found myself doing zooming too much which is not good and not efficiently done and not practical in Ereaders because slow refreshing. I bought max 3 later on which is 13 inches. It is excellent for small size text in multiple column pdf files either articles or textbook. Do not spend more than 400 usd like me
Great video JB! Loving these videos from you! I had one of the Sony e-ink writers many years back (2015), and I LOVED it - then I got an iPad Pro, and decided I did not need it anymore. But have definitely regretted getting rid of it! So, The Quaderno looks super similar to what I had, but just upgraded! Question: In the video, you showed a pinch and zoom function for the Quaderno - does the Remarkable not have pinch and zoom? And do you know whether the Remarkable 2 will have pinch and zoom? I ordered a Remarkable 2, but if it does not have pinch and zoom, I think I might actually get a refund and go for the Quaderno! Also, are there any reasons at all for NOT getting the Quaderno? And finally - when are you getting your Remarkable 2? Mine is coming end Oct I think.
Gideon!!!!!!!!!!! My man - so awesome to catch up here. No pinch and zoom on the RM, BUT they have layers and MAYBE a software upgrade. I love my RM so I think the RM2 is going to be amazing. The Quaderno is very limited in the file structure I really am not that happy with it. Like the side - by - side documents, but the file system is a bummer. It is very pricey compared to the RM2, but support is good as they are a bigger company. Screen size is awesome. They all have their limitations. I am looking forward to the RM2 you can't go wrong there. No reason not to buy the Quaderno......except.... price, file system, would be my 2 negatives. I think you will love the RM2 in a few months. Let's catch up soon!!
Im still thinking to pre-order RM2. Reading around the internet seems that the biggest weak point of RM is their software development. They should improve that as if not others will still their market. I mean I saw what users are doing with custom software "hacks" - so many small but very usefull functionalities. There is even a guy that made an app to manage the files. And that community (small but talented) is a big plus for me. This reminds me a times when I was playing with custom firmwares on Android phones :)
Wojeciech, thanks so much - yes would agree. I think they are a really small company and that is part of the issue. Right with you there for sure. As always thanks for the comment.
In my opinion, the remarkable is still the one to go for, because the 2 screen functionality is all nice but you will get over it after a few weeks. It is great on my 13-inch iPad to mark and grab ideas and research but the size is more of a stay in-home on the desk kind of device and what it delivers for what it is, I prefer an Ipad for this kind of tasks. To me, this size is fun for a multimedia device, but to take it with me everywhere for note-taking or reading. I doubt I would do that with size of a device. The new remarkable when it comes out will be awesome for in the go, throw it on my car seat and just grab it whenever I need it. Also for if I want to have a quick read within one hand in public. I don't prefer the bigger size because it draws attention which makes don't feel comfortable.
Ali, thanks for the comment, yes I would tend to agree the "bang for the buck" is the reMarkable.... I do like the erase function on the Stylus for the Quaderno though it is REALLY awesome, I find myself using it a lot.... really looking forward to the RM2, that could really be a came change. Again, thanks for adding to the channel and the comment.

Great video, thank you! I'd wish you hadn't lost your rM pen so the writing feel could be a bit fairer. Looking forward to watching your next videos!
Thank you - I had the Pen (Lost that one), still have the one that comes with it, the pencil, I am not a fan of that stylus just FYI. I do have the upgrade coming with the RM 2. They are both great devices, really :) It really comes down to personal preference with those stylus, some people like thick, heavy, light etc..... the nibs are all very similar on both. Thank you for the comment :) :)
During your unboxing video I thought the Quaderno might be interesting as an alternative for the R2 which I preordered. But it is a definite no for me. Cumbersome filesytem is a letdown (even when the ReMarkable has definitely room for improvement) and the size is much less manageable. Side by side might come in handy but I never missed it in my present paper notebooks. Possibilty for color of course is nice but only a small benefit for a much higher price. R2 all the way for me. Thx for the comparison.
Thanks a lot for the videos. I really enjoy watching all your reviews. Good stuff!!! Do you think if there will be sony "rp2" in the nearest future? I am thinking about buying a 13.3 inch eink. Quaderno seems like a good buy based on your videos, but I am sure if there is gonna be a new sony rp1 soon?
It seems like Sony is pulling out and letting these other companies jump in with Fijitsu etc...I am happy with my Quaderno just can't stand the file system! Not sure with Sony the device has been around awhile for sure. More videos coming and thanks for the support!
Hi JB, tanks again for a great genuine review. I do have a workflow question. I currently take my notes on iPad using Goodnotes, and archive my notes in the corporate Onenote. Does the Mac version of the Remarkable software have the standard sharing option for your notes? To easily export the notes to the software of choice (Onenote, Evernote, mail,...)?
Stefann - thanks for the question. The key is that it puts it in its OWN software so you export it out into PDF format then into whatever you want. You can email the PDF from the reMarkable though that is one possibility. It doesn't send the "note" into any of the places like Drive, DropBox, etc.... So you would basically, write the note, synch with the Max, drag it into whatever other solution you want as a PDF. So mail is an easy export but others are not easy, but it is not optimal. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video. For me, the quadreno is too big and the price doesn't justify the added option of side by side. I like the size of the reMarkable, especially for carrying around with me as I walk and write down thoughts. The form factor seems to be more of my liking than the quadreno. Can't wait till the reMarkable 2 gets delivered and I think it will be thinner than the quadreno?? The reMarkable also seemed to have a greater speed recording your handwriting than the quadreno. How is the palm rejection on the quad? There is a bit of an echo in your new studio, do you have any sound absorption on the walls? Blessings and keep the vids coming!
Hey hey - GREAT points :) :) - Still working on the studio some - using a few microphone combos - thanks for noticing. Will get better little by little. I think the stylus response is the same and YES the RM2 will be thinner for sure. Palm rejection is great on both, the stylus on the QUADERNO is powered so it has its benefits. Thanks so much for the comment, I had the microphone a little hot, we will see in the next video. I am doing a Rocketbook Journal review that just came out :) - You rock and thanks for adding to the channel with your comment.

Thank you very much for that video I have been expecting since the quaderno unboxing video; just to give you a feedback the sound is not really focused and I couldn't adjust the volume for a great listening experience as compared to your other videos where the sound is one of your great asset ; thank you also for your honesty in the evaluation, certainly because you do not have any interest in these companies. Thank you again for comparing these 2 devices, probably the best 2 tablets in the digital paper market. I would have loved to know your opinion about the reading experience of the Quaderno; you've always said that you prefer the Onyx B3 for reading despite it being more glossy than the others;how do you justify that preference if you were to be reading only on your tablet; which device will you definitely choose if you were to retain only one for reading; (all size; A4 only and reading + annotating); if the Quaderno could replace tons of books and scan notes, from my perspective the price could be justified (less printing, less ink spending,...) , but if and only if the reading experience is great and near to the paper reading experience.
I agree and awesome comment - just can't find that ONE device, you know. They are all great, just find the best that works for you. They keep improving, maybe color soon :)
@@morningcoachthank you for your kind answer ! I mean if we cannot read on a digital paper as you could on a sheet of paper then it really defeats the purpose ! reading capabilities must be premium even outside on a sunny day! thank you again ! please broke down your evaluation into categories; note-taking , highlighting ; reading (inside ;outside; at night,...) filesystem; hardware;.. cannot wait for your new e-paper readers evaluations.
What I am wondering is will the Fujitsu get any software updates? We know the remarkable will, so if not then the remarkable will continue to get better while the Fujitsu will not
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you could let me know if it is possible to acquire the Fujitsu Quaderno A4 in Europe. If so, where exactly? Thank you very much for your help. Have a great day.
I think it is great for a student as long as you have your computer etc... this is only going to be a reader or a note taker nothing more, where an iPad etc... could be used for more things. This is an expensive notebook, so it it is in your budget it is perfect to replace paper either device. Thanks for the comment :)

MorningCoach, I have been debating between the RM2 and Quaderno A4, now that Sony has discontinued its DPT series. How did you install an English firmware onto your Quaderno? I have a Boox Note 2 now, but I completely agree with you that the Boox's have an inferior writing experience compared to the RM, which is why I will be returning my Note 2. How does the writing experience compare between the A4 and the RM2? Would you consider selling your A4? Or swapping for my Note 2? haha
HAHAH i love it - I just bought the BooX Air and Lumi so I couldn't swap but .... hahah the RM2 is going to be a superior notetaker, while the Quaderno is a much better reader. It works pretty good for notes too I just hate the file system. I have moved more to using the Papyr for notes, but when my RM2 comes it that may change. The English firmware is already loaded in, so you don't have to worry about that, it works pretty good out of the box. I have a LOT of comparison videos coming the next week or so as my RM2 and Lumi are coming in just FYI.

I have to check I am not sure - thanks for asking! Japanese and English FOR Sure - but I am not sure of others!
ReMarkable HAS pressure sensitivity indeed
Thanks so much, I haven't really used that and pressed very hard on it..... thanks for the comment :)
Hi this is vikram from India. I have ordered Fujitsu quaderno A4 13.3 inch ereader. It's has departed from Japan. I am waiting....
Its a great device!!!!!
Vikram, I am thinking of the same, but how do you get an English operating system on it?
@@krakergak yes. All operational settings are in English. No doubt about that. Now I am reading a novel in it.
@@PuranaMaalika Where did you buy your device? Would you pls send me a link?
@@krakergak GoodEreader.com. Before purchasing know your country import rules bro.
What I am wondering is will the Fujitsu get any software updates? We know the remarkable will, so if not then the remarkable will continue to get better while the Fujitsu will not
Daniel Blois Great question for sure!!!! Big company but using a 3rd party for the device so we shall see..... thanks for the comment!!
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you could let me know if it is possible to acquire the Fujitsu Quaderno A4 in Europe. If so, where exactly? Thank you very much for your help. Have a great day.
can you read email on the quaderno?
How's the writing feel on the quaderno vs rM?
They are very similar - I don't notice much difference. Make sure you watch the video I put up today :) Thanks for the comment!
Would you say the ReMarkable 2 is worth it for a student as a replacement for paper?
I think it is great for a student as long as you have your computer etc... this is only going to be a reader or a note taker nothing more, where an iPad etc... could be used for more things. This is an expensive notebook, so it it is in your budget it is perfect to replace paper either device. Thanks for the comment :)
@@morningcoach Thank you for your reply, I have a phone and a laptop for media consumption and school work. So I think it would be good. I want to wait for reviews on the ReMarkable 2, but I'll miss out on the pre-order discount. I'm not sure on what to do.
@@SaifUllah-ll6nc I can tell you my experience with the RM1 has been pretty good and if you don't like the RM2 you can sell it pretty quickly and get a lot of your money back. I should have my unti soon so keep an eye out and I will review it as SOON as I get it. It is going to be a great device, but as I said it is ONLY for notes, and some reading. If you have your laptop think you will be good with it, but no email, videos, etc.... it is just an electronic notebook. :) Hope that helps and thanks for the comment :)
@@morningcoach Thank you! I'll keep an eye out for your review and hopefully I can still pre-order it by then.
Which device would be best for math in your opinion?
Deigo - I think they both are good :) Don't think one would be better then the other for math. Thanks for the comment!!
can you uses the ReMarkable as an input device for OneNotes?
Not at this point it doesn't work with OneNote - fyi - thanks for the comment!!
I will buy remarkable 2. Is it good choice..?
Yes the RM2 is still great!
is the writing sensation equal? I have a remarkable and a onyx boox max3 and the winner is still the remarkable (10 vs 9)
Yes, it really depends on the Nib, these both write to me about equal I never really liked the note taking on the Onyx. Yes I think overall value has to go to the RM for notes - the Onyx has many great features, love the book reading on it. Thanks very much for the comment.
@@morningcoach no, I use on the onyx the remarkable pen (the black one) since it is far better. However, also if onyx has a similar screen compared to remarkable (no glass) there is a micro-lag (say 9/10 compared to remarkable)
@@morningcoach Where did you purchase your Quaderno A4? I can only seem to find Japanese ecommerce websites that sell it. I am looking forward to your comparison videos! Keep up the good work!
@@krakergak Last month I got it from goodereader.com/ :)
Can I wipe out Quaderno and install Android?
Uhh recognised that I don't abo you until now. So I've done a quick thumb with abo. Hope I'll find you if you finished renaming your channel.
Thanks sticking with what we have for now - thanks
I think a remarkable is too expensive. I would buy the remarkable 2 for 150 €.
Yes it costs some cash. I am doing a review today on the new RocketBook which is affordable and does some really cool things. Thanks so much for the comment.
