Reminds me of conversations I've had as a coach with Jeremy Hamilton (world record setting powerlifter). E.g. Whenever I try to talk science with him he doesn't (usually) believe it applies to him. How can the average result of a group of intermediates apply to the number one? It makes it more fulfilling as a coach to make progress with an athlete when they're both smart AND elite. It's even more fun when it's not me being questioned all the time haha.

It seems to be more about moving properly through full ranges of motion, loading appropriately, eating, and sleeping. Nothing cutting edge or groundbreaking which i find nice.

5:00 you cannot really build muscle tissue for your ankles area.
but the tendon will become more resilient with such an exercise
the stretching effect due to the weight will also strengthen this tendon area.
another thing especially in strongmen is when they train with a frame or other weight carry exersise. they often do not check on walking optimal.
you can walk in 2 ways forward: one is by putting the rear of the foot first on the ground and then roll into the toes.
the other is by putting the toes first on the ground and roll into the rear section from there. what will help to unload your spine from a lot of stress compared to the first option.
try it out yourself with weight to carry around. and you will feel the difference at this specific ankle area as well in stress it has put on.
as big as your muscles may be. the tendons to your feet are always quite narrow compared to that.
strongmen workouts putting a lot of stress on that area in general. so make sure to give them enough room to regenerate from the stress.
by making sure to also stretch your feet occasionally without any weight added. and rotating them in the air in every possible direction. this also strengthens the tendons a lot. especially if that kind of movement is most of the time not done. you can also use your hands to stretch your feet in all possible directions with a bit of force if you want. this adds to further strengthen them and getting used to specific angles better when under stress from the heavy loads you carry.
besides of that. keep up the good work and i wish you well success furtheron.
