HEY F'ERS... Don't go to the gym all gung ho, throwing ship around because of this... My "friend" almost injured himself today. He was all jecked up on "If he can do that, what are MY limits?" Something less homeboy. Wayyy less
I've been following strongman since I was little kid back in the 90's and let me say that Mitch is probably going to be the Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux of strongman. Incredible what he has accomplished in little more than a year. Bravo
Yeah I think as long as he's in good health and stays interested, for the next decade, anybody else who thinks they're going to win strongman is in big trouble.
@@CalvinHikes A fully prepped Tom would still be a favourite (the guy had less than 4 months prep and came second). Hooper will always be hitting the podium but no chance we have anyone dominate, the field is just so stacked these days. It great to see.
I think the biggest threat to him being very successful is just keeping him motivated and interested in the sport, have no doubt be can be a multiple Arnold and wsm winner
It's pretty wild to watch Will with 315lbs on the Yoke 5:47 - tense, focused to some degree, and then Mitchell picks it up and is almost immediately in a literal full sprint. The 1000lbs is also insane by comparison.
I feel like putting a well trained dude under a 1k yoke and him being unable to pick it up really puts into perspective how crazy it is to run with that weight.
Absolutely love your content!! I am a physical therapist and had an eating disorder for a very long time. If more fitness influencers were like this I can guarantee ED frequency would drop big time. The things you say are so encouraging and I LOVE IT!!! No such thing as wasted calories!!! Hooah! I want the shirt that says that!! I love health and wellness. It’s amazing how bad teachers and influencers can take a passion for health to a very unhealthy extreme. I don’t have time to perfect what I want to say here but I needed to say something. I’m beginning to think health coaches need their voices filtered through someone like Mitch. You are amazing
Oh yeah this will be good. Can't wait to see what Will comes up with for his own channel with the Moose. Im so happy for the exposure this collab will bring for Mitchell. Will is def a good egg in this youtube fitness game.
2:16 Mitchell, do not sell yourself short. You are EXTREMELY special in the world of strength sports and strongman in specific. You may not be “special” in terms of the ability to compete without eating as much and bulking up like the other guys, but as you said you are proving to the world that it is possible and that makes you one of the most compelling athletes of this generation. Your story reminds me of Roger Bannister when he broke the 4 minute mile. Oh look, you really don’t have to be weighing in at 400+ pounds and standing 6’ 6” to win WSM. The ripples you are making throughout the community won’t be fully realized for another 5-10 years. I truly think your special mind, abilities and skill set is what’s going to make the sport explode in popularity again and make it much safer for everyone involved… not to mention how much time and money you must be saving compared to the other athletes in the field.
for real, just hearing him talk about his eating and hes like "yea i dont want to spend my whole day cooking and eating bc i have things to do" and how hes like you dont need 10k cal unless youre trying to just be massive like that. 5500 cal a day is actually not that difficult to get in either if you are doing like he says and having alot of shakes for your meals.
This vid was the best of your channel so far. Mitch was on fire with coaching and world class performance. It was very cool to watch. He made so many great points.
Love your videos and your mentality. As an American, I was hoping shaw would win so he could go out on top. But if it wasn't him im glad it was you. Keep your positive attitude and challenging conventional wisdom(like you said about the calories in the beginning) its so great to see
I have some constructive cricisism: To raise the click through rate pls CONSIDER PHOTOSHOPPING THE CLOTHING IN THE THUMBNAIL TO RED AND BLUE (Compare ur current thumbnail with wills thumbnail and decide what improvements u can make). Other than that great video
Just started following and great to watch I have followed strongman for 25 years and it’s amazing to see a athlete such as yourself who’s gifted and not 180 kgs 👍🇦🇺
Mitchell, congratulations on your ascent in the sport! You are a worthy and refreshing champion! I have been watching Strongman from the earliest television shows in the 1970s with Franco Colombo carrying refrigerators, etc. Your whole personality and approach to fitness and training is so modern, well thought out, and educated. Please keep being you! Avoid if possible the allure and potential monetization of unworthy click bait content of things like binge eating junk food contests and immature male posturing with flatulence and other puerile foolishness which brings down the whole sport.
Its honestly very refreshing to have Mitchells take on things bc the guys obviously one of the strongest men on earth but hes also not some huge 390lb dude who force feeds himself 10 meals a day, he just seems to have a good balance of life and his career and it seems like thats what makes the most difference,
I heard you say a few times that your genetics/biomechanics are very good for strongman and a big reason why you have done so well. I think it would be an interesting video to go over those mechanics in detail. Maybe even contrast them with someone else with less than ideal biomechanics for strongman. What things make for an ideal strongman?
i can tell you off the bat that him being alot more compact and smaller compared to alot of other athletes is a huge deal bc its different leverages plus his background as an athelete coupled with him not being overly heavy or big makes his conditioning and ability to move alot higher than some of the other athletes. Like Big Brian is my fav but the dudes massive size is a hinderance alot of the time bc having to move a 6'8 420-40 lb body around is difficult in itself let alone competing .
Glad to see the stone work. I was very confused when the thumbnail for Wills video showed an '800 lb stone' in Mitchell's arms. Still not sure why that was necessary... Great vid!
When I saw Mitchel casually grabbing a 45lb plate and move them around he made them look like fake weights. That’s so unbelievably strong in a small detail. Fun video
2:11 "They spend all day cooking 12 eggs, eating 12 pancakes" Mitchell Hooper probably has a very busy schedule, but I didn't think cooking 12 eggs would be the example of a very time consuming thing.
The log role really looks like a skill as well as a strength test. You could see the difference in fluidity making a big difference. I'd like to see Will's power clean form.
I really wish the loadable atlas stone wasn't so expensive. Would love to get one for my garage gym. Maybe i can pass concrete ones off as "lawn ornaments" haha
Hooper is the dude, For years i always had that feeling one did not need to be over 400lbs or eat as much to compete and Win. He just proved it. I really started to believe it was possible when i saw guys deadlifting close to 1K lbs weighing less than 250 lbs
For me yoke was always more of a mental thing over strength. I know there is a TON of strength involved, but as a 165/175lb competitor I have hit 800 for 50 feet with 2 drops in under 90 seconds. I think that it is a mental strength thing when it starts getting up there in weight.
Hey Hooper, fellow Canadian here, you always say you want advice so I think collabs with big youtubers, and slightly less content would be more beneficial for your growth. Good luck
Hooper came out of nowhere and just dominated. To put his name amongst the great Shaw, Hall, Big Z, etc in less than a year is amazing. Straight out of a movie
Correct, you do need to eat 8-10K ish if I want to work like Brian and be his size. The issue is Brian is so tall he does need to be a lot bigger to be competitive, Brian would never be competitive at 320 lbs, if Brian was similar proportions to Hooper, Brian would probably be about 390 lbs. Hooper claiming 525lbs over head ... Its in the realm of possible for humans and likely him, but how much other training would he sacrifice for the 525 overhead, my guess is quite a bit.
Strong video, but grabbing the 4 plates at 8:41 that easy is just insane! nice video!
ye but when you dlift 400+ that tends to be normal weight
Yeah... Came in the comments to say that, buuuut. Hahaha. Been lifting for decades and seeing that was a mind blower.
Yeah and Will grabbing one tiny plate after that 😂
YUP. Came here to say the same thing. That's how I pick up two pairs of jeans.
HEY F'ERS... Don't go to the gym all gung ho, throwing ship around because of this... My "friend" almost injured himself today. He was all jecked up on "If he can do that, what are MY limits?" Something less homeboy. Wayyy less
Couple of superb Canadians right there

Plus the weight of the yolk...pretty decent.
Yea the weight of the yoke at the Shaw classic last year was 1115 pounds (506Kg) absolutely crazy.
i recommend watching Hooper compete in the Shaw Classic Super Yoke
I feel like putting a well trained dude under a 1k yoke and him being unable to pick it up really puts into perspective how crazy it is to run with that weight.

Both Will and Mitchell are extremelly nice guys. Its a great collab video!
Guy casually cleans 4 45# plates of the pick rack... Has me dying how easy he makes everything look. A true mass monster!
Great video! Mitchell is very good at explaining the techniques on each lift, very interesting.
Will's face when you said "we'll get you to 700ibs" 🤣
He did well tbh
Running with 1000 is just insane
I love hearing the tips that Mitchell gives its so insightful compared to not just other strongmen but fitness influencers in general

If he stays injury free i can see him dominating for years, crazy natural ability.
So proud you brought the 🏆 to Ontario; I feel like a hockey fan.
First time Canadian to ever win 1st place, amazing! 👏
This vid was the best of your channel so far. Mitch was on fire with coaching and world class performance. It was very cool to watch. He made so many great points.
Damn Mitchell seems like hes the kid of Brian Shaw, humble and jokes a little but isnt hyperactive or too goofy :D
Just wholesome

Shaw wanted that too, but results are results. I’m sure Brian lost graciously.
This really puts things in perspective because Will is no slouch - he's a strong and fit dude!
I've been waiting for this Collab for over a year now😂

Mitch is so Canadian he almost sounds British

These guys make me even MORE proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦
The 4 plate grab is awesome 😮
15:57 I looked at my moobs, then turned to my wife and said, "Mitch Hooper says I need to log press."
You're a GOAT in the making Mitch, your attitude is incredible, come back to Aus mate

Wow. Amazing chemistry with these two. Really enjoyed this!
Good choice, Will is a great guy. Looking forward to more collabs!

I have never seen any of this before either. It's very cool seeing strongmen moves for the first time!
Great to see Will on your channel! I am so impressed by your knowledge and I loved seeing Will soaking it all in. Keep up the awesome work!
So happy to see this! Great video
Love watching videos like this to really solidify that I ain’t shit, guys push pressing my deadlift no problem…. Crazy to see that kind of strength!
Mitch can quite literally sprint with over 200kg+ on his back
The collab I was hoping for!
Road to 100K Mitch! Spread the good message of fitness and health, is what it's all about. 👊
1 of which won the WSM 2023 proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Would kill to see you training with Clarence. Just two absolute units.

Trophy in the boot reveal cracked me up
Greg Doucette reckons that this Mike bloke cannot beat his deadlift record. I say Mike should prove him wrong!
A little tip for picking up the stone from the floor is actually rolling it slightly to wedge your fingers underneath so you can get better grip🪩
The log role really looks like a skill as well as a strength test. You could see the difference in fluidity making a big difference. I'd like to see Will's power clean form.
Great chemistry between you guys😃
Death by Deadlift ft Will Tenny??? Attempt 2? Awesome video, loved it!
pleasant surprise to see Will on your Channel!!!
This was a fun watch!
Will did ok😁💪🏼
Just subscribed you saw your videos from diff strength channels , Keep growing man your videos motivates me a lot. Best wishes from India
This wins the day for me
He did a video with Trey Mitchell
Really cool seeing two different edits of basically the same video
I clicked so fast on this title. Great video guys! The Eskimo kiss was the icing on the donut.

Subscribed after seeing you on wills channel. You seem super nice.
powerful video. thanks
Keep this up man , love the content!
I don’t understand how he only easts 5500. I eat 5500 calories almost exactly every day. I weigh 200lbs. It’s absurd.
What is there to not understand. You are just not consuming as much calories as you might think.
@@nedu9594 ??? I calculate my calories every day. I eat 5500 +- 100 calories every day
Hey Hooper, fellow Canadian here, you always say you want advice so I think collabs with big youtubers, and slightly less content would be more beneficial for your growth. Good luck
Getting big youtubers costs so much money, Strongman may get 75.000 for a win but that money doesn't last long
@@petershortland478 Not always. Some people want to film with mitch for free simply because he is 2023 WSM
When he said his push press was 170, I thought I had some hope, but he meant kilos. Ha

Yoooo Hooper grabbing 4 plates easy then Will with the 5 pound is the funniest thing i've ever seen!
Finally.....O CANADA

Moose that was a good tip on the overhead press
