The Marvels is a triumph. Its depth can be seen not just through its characters, but through its story as it explores war's complicated fallout; the difficulty of being a human when you are perceived as a monolith; and the hilarious and complicated virtues of family. Both funny and heartfelt, Nia DaCosta’s MCU debut will have you asking when she and her leading ladies are coming back immediately after the credits roll. It’s a pity that the villain isn’t given much to do, though.

In the last 2 weeks I’ve witnessed IGN give the Marvels a 8/10 and UFC 5 a 9/10, it’s safe to say this is a parody account and we should start treating it as such

Marvel/Disney is way to impactful for a reviewer to give a bad review and still have a career for a company that wants to stay on the Disney gravy train. Dune is not at the same level.

If this movie was told from the villain’s perspective, she actually be a hero. An alien came out nowhere and destroyed the system that was sustaining her home planet so she goes on a journey and finds a bangle that can bring resources back to her people. She establishes a peace treaty with the kreel until the same enemy returns with two other villainous women and tries to take her hammer and bangle away from her. One of three of them even has the other bangle to her set. This villain never has conversation with me about why my portals are so dangerous and just continues to attack me and kill our men. 🤔 This is my main problem with this movie.
i've watched 3 different reviews of this and literally everyone else is gently shitting on it, but IGN does IGN stuff.
They gave she hulk an 8 but one piece a 6. What can anyone expect from them.

It’s objectively terribly designed, the story is poorly executed and there’s no character arcs in it.
Film is subjective when it comes to whether you liked it or not, but it’s just a cheap product.
So basically if the movie has a better villain they would’ve given at least a 9/10 or even a 10/10…
Yeah, the villain was a cross between Thanos and Dark Helmet, but overall, it wasn't a bad movie. At this point, people are just hating on it because they want to fit in with all the other haters. It was a fun action movie with some funny parts, and it didn't need to be more than that. It was at least an average movie, so 7 or better is fair.

It's just how much a specific reviewer enjoyed the movie. Some people think Ocarina of Time is a 10/10 some think it is a 2/10. Just how the world works.
So, there is only really a baseline for each individual reviewer. Not a generalized one. This one likes girlboss superheroes. So, not really helpful for someone that isn't into that kind of stuff.

Its actually an enjoyable ride. Leagues better than Thor 4 or Ant Man 3. The hate is so unwarranted. The trio had great chemistry. And Kamala is the heart of the film.

She starts as an idealistic (and naive) teen superhero. She meets her own hero and very quickly is forced to realise that Carol is not the perfect person she had built up the idea of in her head. She goes from awkward third wheel along for the ride, to proving herself and being accepted by the other two. And at the end, we see her ambition growing beyond just the streets of her home city as she seeks to assemble a team to achieve something bigger.
Officially lost all trust in IGN...lol
