@@2Ahthelphi lol we had nothing else to do and there wasn’t anything we really wanted to see in theaters. It was also a really bad experience. Like half the theater was on their phones… it made me depressed for the future of the theater industry
Seriously, because Spaceballs is a clasic comedy. While this movie made me say "boring" at least five times.
Forgetting to even mention the villain until the end was the most honest part

worst villain ever and proof that nepotism is alive because there is no good explanation for how she got that role. I mean, it was already written bad but she added nothing to it.
They could have WISELY spent those $200 million on "Space Balls 2: The Quest for More Money" and could have easily made 1 billion dollars, at least.

I still absolutely burst out laughing when I remember that a 2020's 200 million dollar superhero movie copied notes from an 80's Star Wars spoof.
And the spoof is probly still 100 times better (idk. i havrn't seen the marvels)

It was bothering me in the theater trying to remember what other MCU movie had the same plot. About an hour after we got home I yelled SPACEBALLS from the other end of the house and my wife screamed "THANK YOU!" 😂😂

The MCU has hit the same stage the comics are at. A lot of history, stories branching in random directions at the writer's whim, everything is loved by someone, but nothing is loved by everyone.
Both arms of the industry, movie and comics, are losing money and customers. ... unless you count Manga, which the comic book companies keep trying to rope into their statistics to fool people that the industry isn't dying.

My friends and I had the theater to ourselves opening weekend. When the flerken started eating everyone with "Memory" playing in the background, we just started laughing hysterically, like "Is this for real?"

Basmati Blues is a ridiculous movie with an unbelievable backstory (read the story in Vulture about how it got made) and deserves its own Honest Trailer.
Stumbled upon Basmati Blues a few years ago, somehow finished the movie. Hilariously awful. They made a musical movie in India but used almost entirely Western-style song and dance. Also glad that Utkarsh Ambudkar, who plays Brie Larson's love interest, doing ok in Ghosts US.

I didnt like it. Bleach is an iconic anime, and it came back swinging with Thousand Year Blood War. Its a treat for the eyes, not bad.

Problem is she still only has pieces of her memory. When the Kree turned out to not be people, the only family left are the Skrull refugees, Nick Fury and the Rambeaus.

I cannot shake the feeling that a much better story happened between the original movie and the sequel.
That's what I was hoping this movie was going to be (or at least feature more flashbacks of), Carol starting a revolution and freeing or beating back Hala, leading to the peace we saw between Kree and Xandarians at the beginning of the first Guardians film.
Also: please someone update us on Xandar. Did Thanos kill the whole planet when grabbing the Orb/Power Stone, or are Glenn Close and John C. Reilly still alive? Shitty that Guardians 1's triumph was sacrificed for Infinity War.
Yeah. I enjoyed this one for what it was, but I also REALLY got that vibe that we outright skipped over a movie.

Technically speaking, through a series of publisher acquisitions (Aircel -> Malibu -> Marvel), Men in Black IS a Marvel comic.

Ms. Marvel carried that entire movie. She was literally putting her heart and soul into the character, and just going into everything with all the enthusiasm in the world. The Ms. Marvel show starts slow, but actually gets pretty good around the halfway point.
That’s the worst part. She should have had her show earlier in the phase, but now she’s kind of stuck trying to glue the next one together.

The actor is really good, needed better story for the series. She makes the series watchable.
She was a bright spot in the movie, but nothing was carried. That movie flopped hard. To carry it she would have had to save it. Not a knock against her, just how it is.

It’s really sad that Iman Vellani wasn’t an option for an earlier phase of the MCU. The kid is one of the only things that actually works in Marvel movies right now, even if the show and movie Vellani has been in are both mediocre at best. It’s too bad, Disney is still recruiting talent but letting it down in the writing room.
Iman Vellani is great! She has such great acting and chemistry, and the Ms. Marvel show was amazing! The humor and comic drawings and stuff was amazing. She's definitely one of my favorites.
Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk are definitely my top Marvel projects because they're just so enjoyable and I hope we get a season 2 for both!

Thank you for acknowledging the fact that Kamala was the best part of the movie, and that it was at its best when it was just the three leads.
One of the major issues is that this movie was supposed to come out before secret invasion. It was supposed to come out when quantumania came out and then singled invasion would come out and then quantumania is supposed to come out. So that's why things like that seem a little jumbled. Doesn't make up for why the MCU overall has been fumbling everything, but I actually enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed it more than Thor love and thunder and quantumania. In regarding the shows I mean yeah some are still good but what if the season was good? Loki was good. I like Hawkeye. I liked Wanda vision. Secret invasion was probably the worst for me. I don't know. I'm still on board. We'll see what happens

There has been a comic issue with her (the comic version, not the MCU version) realizing there is fanfic about Ms Marvel now and reading it while gradually flipping out. It was an Avengers Annual, I think. Been a while since I read it.
Also, Iman Vellani is co-writing the current Ms Marvel comics to take this in a different meta direction.

man, I really hope they continue to write for Kamala Kahn/Iman Vellani. She's the only bearabele part of this movie and one of the few shows that were really fun. It feels like she's really the last person that enthusiastically works on marvel these days, and that's a treasure.
They need to keep her around and DC needs to keep Xolo’s Blue Beetle around just so that those two can interact when Marvel vs DC is inevitably done in 15 years or so.
My immediate thought after all the (mostly undeserved) hate when this came out was, I really hope this doesn't screw up Iman's career.

@@BeniBela I had to google it, and it does look a bit familiar (I must have seen some reruns on my main national TV channel when I was young), but The Marvels looks more lively and fun (for a rewatch, or more specifically for a rewatch with drinking games).

That is because Disney bought all the other tickets to pad their own numbers and of course didn't show up. (well, at least they are known for doing that sort of thing.)
I went with my wife on opening freaking night, and there were five people in the theater. Counting us.
counting me 5 people. I saw the movie in week two. I don't remember the movie but I was the only person there (last year)
