The Tomaree Coastal Walk is very important.
Not only is it important, it’s part of our journey, it’s part of our songlines.
It connects us to Country.
Our ancestors used this place for ceremonies.
We would come here for burials.
There’s midden sites where people met together and just had a feast.
So it’s very significant to our people, very special.
We don’t want to keep it as a secret to ourselves.
We want to share it.
Our songlines are very important to us and
for people to come whether they’re here locally living in our Country
or they’re coming from other parts of the world to get a real
appreciation of who we are as a people.
I think on the Coastal Walk, that’s one place that you can do that
that you can learn about who we are as a people and about our Country.
