  • In this episode we take a look at how eBay views your business and how it can help you by helping yourself. Please know that I share these things as I learn them and try to make them easy to understand. I'm not an expert and try to help you avoid my mistakes. At the end of the video I beg for money through Patreon.

    I offer free postage not for the customers sake but for mine. Because i have over 10K items, i get people who buy more than 1 item so i make extra money because postage cost is built into every item and i dont have to give them any postage money back.

    G'day from another Geelong reseller, now I understood why I can never find any Dr Seuss books while I'm op-shopping! Interesting content you're putting out, I've subscribed and will come and say hello if I see you out and about!

    Nice video, Tory. I will guess what the fly intro is - Since you started doing more reselling content on youtube from summer this year, are we talking about the 'friendly flies' as a reminder of summer? haha...I hope my guess was not a crap lol..
    On a different note, what I do (on ebay) after I post the item is- I thank the buyer for the purchase, inform them that I have provided the tracking number & I also send them the picture of the packaging at the time of despatch. Most of the buyers do not reply and that is ok by me, but they will get the message from ebay and they would read that, which demonstrates that we as a seller, care about the sale. Some do reply and I have had some nice conversations with them, which also results in a nice feedback. In your case, since you have IG and YT, a lot of people know you and your subscriber might be your buyer. Even if they dont reply on YT, they might reply via. ebay which will result in a nice feedback. Does that make sense, Tory? :)

      Certainly does make sense! It’s a great idea. Well done.

    But it doesn’t allow you the option to cancel order (buyer hasn’t paid) until day 4

      I've been able to unless I didn't describe it well enough. Sorry if that is the case.

    When you commit to promising, ‘same day postage’; do you need to follow that through, regardless of receiving payment to look good to eBay?

    Sorry but Free Shipping and Free Returns provide an unprecedented boost to said Algorithm. Perhaps if we have unique one-offs this is of less importance as buyers are searching directly for those products or they simply stick above the crowd a bit more "naturally" depending on the prospective buyer's search query, but...Any INFO that attempts to educate would-be sellers on eBay needs to shine that light front and center. And no, I;m just pulling this from the air as I have sold on eBay for some 25 years and have a million-dollar-a-year selling account. Outside of the Free Shipping and Returns, being active daily (doing some listing or end/sell similar, answering messages/leaving FB in a timely fashion, searching and watchlisting items you may have no intention of buying), using your Photo opportunities (and pay attention to the names especially on the lead photo), never allow Request to close Unresolved and keeping your DSRs high (again FREE SHIPPING will boost this for you) are just some of the MUST KNOWS if you wish to succeed on more than a passing level on eBay. Are there others? of course and they are not Islands unto themselves.

      Fantastic insights and I really appreciate them. As I keep saying on these videos, I am simply passing on information as I learn it as I was finding that in my normal life, friends were asking me what I had learned and I thought I should pass it on. I agree if you do have unique items that does change the course. I would actually love to learn more from you based on your wealth of experience. I have been a member of eBay for nearly 28 years but only seriously reselling for less than one yearagain, thank you

      Hi, mate. Having a store is only worthwhile if you do something like $3k+ per month in sales. This is because the fees are reduced which negates the store cost. I don't believe your listings get a boost by having a store. Hope this helps.

    • @geelong-flipper
      @geelong-flipper  26 дней назад +1

      You can choose promoted items without a store mate.

      I’ll add to emusaurus I have a store and don’t do those numbers I do roughly $2k a month. The store lets me sort my goods, offer promos and coupons etc. for $20 a month yea please lol

    Great informative video thanks. I definitely have to start using the listing scheduler. I try to get my drafts for the next day done at night so I can list them quickly in the morning before work. Been slack lately and not listing everyday - visibility and sales drop off accordingly. Ebay is a harsh mistress.

      Absolutely it is. It’s hard sometimes to keep up though.
