    The moment I heard the news about this one, I've been checking your channel religiously since! This is probably the second highest Solomon Kane yarn I've wanted you to spin! I can scarcely say how excited I am to finally see it here! Thank you, Cybrarian, seriously, this is some of the most uplifting stuff for me in months. Your hard work is not unappreciated.

    Through all kinds of crap, though heatwaves and illnesses and bad internet access and telecom strikes, we finally bring you Robert E. Howard's - Solomon Kane - The Hills of the Dead.
    After finishing this we have had to transport it out of studio to upload from a separate location because our studio net connection is still down because it's being upgraded (thank you to TalkTalk and BT for your terrible service).
    Chapter 1 of this seems to be at a different screen ratio than the rest, not sure how it happened and it's too late to change now (unless you'd like this delayed any another couple of days) but we feel that the intimate nature of chapter 1 being two old friends around a campfire means the ratio change (if it's even noticeable) helps draw us into the story, and the chapter is only about 5 minutes long.

      Thanks for all your efforts in these troubled times. Funny thing about the weather in central Alabama. I read about heat waves and droughts world wide, but we have had a very mild and wet summer here. Usually August is upper 90s to lower 100s, but this year we have had few days over 90 and quite a bit of rain. Maybe its El nino or George Soros, or whatever current boogie man is in vogue. Loved this story, .

    You have done well, rest now, for when night falls, you must again be ready to produce more wonderfully visceral and rich interpretations of Howard's work...lest the axe fall upon thee. Such is the doom that I see before you, and for this, I give you my thanks and blessings to you, and your house.

    Love the summoning of the vultures at the end. Howard always had a way of spinning a simple fact into an unexpected but sensical plot twist.

    Thank you so much for uploading this. I became fascinated by the Solomon Kane character recently and have been desperately trying to crash course myself on him. I started with the movie which by some miracle was free on RUclips at the time and then came here to get the straight Robert E. Howard version. I now feel I know something about the character and seek to continue learning. I may try some of the other audiobooks aswell

    I believe there was a proposed Dracula film (never made,) set in 1920s India, where, at the climax, a cult of stranglers, armed with bamboo spears, chase the Count to the top of one of the Towers of Silence - places where corpses are placed to be ritually consumed by vultures.
    As the sun rises, Dracula is attacked by vultures and is driven off the tower onto the spears of his pursuers.
    It is likely that the scriptwriter has read this story

    • @TheCybrarian
      @TheCybrarian  Месяц назад

      most likely, but i think we prefer the mental visual of the shaman calling the huge flock of vultures to tear the vamps apart
