I replay these videos constantly. I feel transported to a world lost to time where barbarians drew swords and trampled the kingdoms of man underfoot. It’s great, and I hope to share these with my kids when they get older.
@@ramoncruz1007that's great, we even still listen to them ourselves whilst playing darksouls etc (even though we've heard them a lot through recording n editing)
Yes! Conan is back where he belongs, thank you so much for this one, phenomenal work as always and well worth the wait. Felt like a kid again, I was so excited seeing this pop up when I opened RUclips 😂
My dad read this as a bed time story to me and my brother in bunk beds in 1999, we were bored, interested, listened to the rytmic words spoken in a deep gutteral voice, then remedied to sleep. The next night, reminding our dad where he was from what we recollected. We didnt know where Conan was, but I remembered how the land was described. Can I yell you? Yes, can I spell Stigia, and river Stx? No. But I was there. Thank you for this. I can see the yellow pages he read from. ❤
Wonderful. Had similar experience, my dad read the hobbit to me and my brothers also in bunk beds, he worked on roofs during the day but had a great reading voice during those nights. 👍
Thank you so much. This was the very first Conan story I read as a kid. It was scary, it was weird and exciting, still is. But my favourite quote is this: "An uprising? Maybe we'd better hang a few citizens before we start-" It's so grim and funny, and really defines Conan as a hard-boiled fantasy character. Imagine Aragorn saying that before riding out from MInas Tirith.
Conan , comrades and foes : voiced by TheCybrarian Angeles : voiced by Shazreea Wonderful story telling . Amazing acting and background sounds . Top tier . worth the wait . 👍👍
Even in an age so far removed from our own, we recognize the man with an iron spine. With a mind that pierces the veil of illusion using common sense and hard earned experience, we remember his name. We revel in the triumph of simple men over the machinations of the twisting darkness, and we call out to Conan! May your blade swing true, may your edge bite deeply, and let the rivers of blood mark your path through those that stand in your way.
This story had me hooked from the first scene! Many people are commenting that this should be made into a movie, but I think some scenes are already been adapted for the screen... Some scenes reminded me uncannily of Disney's animated Aladdin movie (1992) especially the opening scene with the thief losing his live in pursuit of dazzling riches in a forgotten city in the desert. Natok's sexual harassment of Yasmilla reminded me of how Jafar pesters Princess Jasmine too.
I love all your Conan stories. You have an amazing voice for storytelling. Have you considered doing the new Conan novel, Blood of the Serpent, or Red Nails? I realize it's a long one, but I love how the new novel acts as a direct prequel to it.
This is awesome as always man. Also, no offense to your American accent, but something about your narrating voice makes me think Conan would sound better with a Scottish accent
I originally went looking for the other book not the audio book. But, im glad i made the error: excellent voice quality, and because i'm an architectural freak, i absolutely loved the presentation of it in this video. Kuthchemes was the perfect setting for this eldritch horror. As an artist, im illustrating the case of Shavetas walking amidst the splendor while unknown to him, that he was being watched, by Thugra Khotan before being evidently killed by him.
I have never understood why this story hasn’t been made into a movie. It’s perfect; it has a great opening ( one can easily imagine it as a title sequence)and Conan is introduced brilliantly. It has sex, violence, beauty, terror, a battle and a really creepy wizard. Arnold was great and Jason Momoa even better; he looked like a Frazetta painting come to life, but the movies they were in were just warmed over sword and sandal B pictures, only less fun. Conan needs a director who cares about the subject; like Peter Jackson cared about Tolkien.
always thought the 1st film was great, if u watch the making of (which is on youtube) then u can see how well it was put together and how it could have gone on, but instead they went 80s sword n sorcery with the destroyer, shame really
It is a good movie, but there are aspects of the depiction of Conan I take issue with. It’s probably because of Arnold’s limitations as an actor, but the Conan of the movie is a far cry from Howard’s confident, pro active barbarian. Instead of a Conan who escapes from captivity, we have one who passively waits until he’s freed. He rambles around, looking for revenge in a half assed way instead of raising an army against Thulsa Doom( an antagonist from the Kull stories) which is what Howard’s Conan would have done. I also take issue with his origin story . Why put it in? Aside from a few references, Howard never bothered. As someone once said, Die Hard doesn’t start with John McClain in police academy. Why not just adapt Red Nails or Black Colossus or People of the Black Circle?
I almost wonder if this was a source of inspiration for Aragorn in Lord of the Rings: A dark lord rising after 3000 years of dormancy to threaten the world of men and a rover who often travels and fights under different names leads the fight to beat him back, dreaming of the day he may wear a crown of his own.
@@TheCybrarian Conan’s thief friend who told him about going there knows. I don’t think he died and he might take Conan as muscle to divide it and protect him

Cybrarian- The production and voice acting here is always excellent. For me you are the voice of Conan the Cimmerian.
Fantastic tale! No one does R.E. Howard like the Cybrarian! ⚔🔥👏
I wish he was on audible becuase se I honestly can’t see Conan having anywhere voice. And those static readings get on my nerves.
Thank you, Cybrarian. Excellent narration, as usual, wonderful audio effects, and Shazreea was fabulous.

we plan on doing red nails as it is original REH and public domain, alas we can't do any recent work under copyright
For some reason, I didn't think of the copyright issue when I made that comment.
