Cybrarian- as always excellent voice acting and great treatment of the material. This is probably my favorite short story of any genre. Its a perfect action-adventure with a touch of cosmic horror with ancient biblical references to add just a hint of a possibility that it’s true.

As always, top self narrative and ambiance! This is why you ( and REH) are my favorite storytellers. Thank you for all your hard-work!

More and more, I feel like this is a description of someone having a psychotic break brought on by a concussion, having a bad dream then fixating on a less well-liked colleague to enact his violent fantasy. A straight reading is just too horribly racist, and I'd like to think better of Howard.

I've always rather liked how the Achaeans, according to REH's vision, are descendants of the Aesir. I don't know why. But the Achaeans are my favorite Bronze Age civilization, and the Aesir are my favorite Hyborian nation.

Was that supposed to be the God Thoth that Conan was Interacting with? If so, its more than a little weird that he would had been the one battling Set whom by the sounds of it is Robert's version of Apep/Jurmengarde witch fits the Black Snake coiling around the world description quite a ways better. You'd think it would've been Horus as the Ancient Conan bumps into! 'I Strove with Set by Fire and Steel' is an amazing phrase though. (Better than Gods of Egypt Movie.)

Modern Audiences reacting to a woman saying "May Set have Mercy on me." "In the name of Set!": What is she talking about!? Doesn't she know that Set is a Horrific irredeemable Monster!? Actual fact: Set was once the Champion protector of the Sun God, and was co-identified with the Syrian War-god Reshef. He cared for the common people and exorcised demons. There was also a lesser known story were Set fell in love with a commoner woman and her victim son wishing to aid them not knowing She was actually Isis in Disguise. (Sorry Riordan fans.) Note: I know Robert E Howard made Him a Giant black Snake monster but that's based on the misconception that Set and Aphosis are the Same being. Still an Interesting story though!
