Yes Biff is a highly underrated movie villian. His performance, characters, everything is highly underrated. Without Biff there is no trilogy.
Yes Biff matters a lot
Is it the BTTF trilogy or the BIFF trilogy?🤔
Claiming things are under rated or over rated itself is over rated.
lol.
@@joshgellis3292 Your mums overrated
Tom Wilson's stand up comedy is gold.
Thomas Wilson was the most talented actor in this series. He played Biff at multiple ages, Griff, Mad Dog and voiced Gertrude Tannen. And I think he did all those parts spot on perfect!
I didn't know he voiced his grandma that's hilarious
He and Clancy Brown both make great villains, but TW makes being bad, fun to watch.
@@Deepthoughtsabound Apparently I didn't realize this until recently, but the two of them have both been providing voices in "SpongeBob SquarePants" for the last several years. Brown does Mr. Krabs and a few others. As for Wilson, he doesn't do any specific characters on that show, though he's voiced Patrick's dad in the spin-off "The Patrick Star Show" for a few years.
He's a pretty cool guy, he calls the morning radio show around here once in a while.
Biff was maybe second best. I love Crispin Glover's George. It's too bad that the issues between he and Zemeckis weren't worked out, so that he could appear in 2 and 3.
34:12 to 34:18 "Everybody, everywhere will say Clint Eastwood is the biggest yellow belly in the west"
Those three actors sitting at the table that are prominently featured as background extras in the bar throughout the movie are actually legendary actors Pat Buttram, Dub Taylor, and Harry Carey Jr. all of whom have spent decades playing sidekicks and various supporting characters in a glut of Western films and TV shows (all rumored to have more than 250 credits to their names).
Pat Buttram (the man quoting the line about Clint Eastwood) was best known for playing the sidekick to the "Singing Cowboy" Gene Autry, and later for his voiceover work with Disney and various cartoons (mostly westerns).
Dub Taylor was primarily known for his work in mostly western TV shows such as Casey Jones, Soggy Bottom U.S.A., and Maverick just to name a few.
And Harry Carey Jr. was the son of legendary silent film star, Harry Carey. Some his most famous roles would include films such as The Searchers, Wagon Master, and Rio Grande.
Robert Zemeckis (the film director) having chosen these three actors to play the bar trio was his way of paying the homage to the Western genre.
Perfect trilogy. The first movie was about George, the second was about Biff, and the third about Doc. Marty was just along for the ride and to tie everything together.
You know, i never looked at it from that point of view, and you're totally right. Although i would argue that maybe the first film is about both his parents, not just George. Although i guess it's more his transformation than hers. Of course, Biff had no growth in the second one. LOL
Just like how the Star Wars Prequels were about Obi-Wan and the Original Trilogy was about Luke but the whole story is about Anakin/Darth Vader.
I agree. Perfect trilogy. The one and only knock I have on it would be that the original gal who played Jennifer was replaced. Granted it wasn’t for some stupid reason so what else can you do. I enjoy the second Jennifer too because of shows like the adventures of baby sitting and the karate kid.
Surprisingly nobody has pointed this out yet but when Marty goes back to 1985, Clayton ravine has been changed to Eastwood Ravine.
"Of course it's erased!"
"But what does that mean?"
"It means your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one, both of you."
Fun Fact: Clint Eastwood was asked for permission about his name being used for Marty in the film. He consented and was said to be tickled by the homage.
Historical Fact: Marty uses a "Frisbie's" pie plate to knock a gun out of Mad Dog's hand. In 1871, the Frisbie Pie Company started in Connecticut. Their pie pans were thrown on the campus of Yale, and this eventually lead to the invention of Frisbees.
Music Enthusiast Fact: ZZ Top was asked to be the town band. During one take, the camera broke. While waiting for the camera to be repaired, Michael J. Fox asked if they would play "Hey Good Lookin'" which they did. Afterwards, more requests were played. Two hours later, someone inquired if the camera had been repaired. Robert Zemeckis replied that it had been fixed for quite a while, he just didn't want to stop the party that had evolved.
Just can't help your self can you? The video hasn't even been released yet and you gotta be the first to spout your "fun facts". How about watching the video first and then answer relevant questions with your "fun facts".

Mary Steenburgen looked the same age for about thirty years.
I enjoyed the BTTF Trilogy as a kid but being older now and seeing them back to back recently, I am even more fond of them.. just love how the three connect, telling one big story
Yes and they all still hold up really well
0:00 Because of this movie there are 4 deloreans in 1955
I had to think but you’re right.
The original.
The one Doc and Marty Brought from 1985a.
The one Doc left from 1885.
AND the one Biff took. 🫤
All the actors in the Saloon with Voice lines are famous western Actors, including Dub Taylor from Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Wild Wild West, and many more, Harry Carey from Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, and many more, and probably the most recognizable, Pat Buttram, (The man with the funny sounding voice) Who while has been in Traditional Westerns much like the others, is most recognizable for his Animated Voices, Such as being the Sheriff of Nottingham from Disney's Robin Hood, Possum Park Operator from A Goofy Movie, or Chief the Hound dog from Fox and the Hound.
And thus ends one of the best movie trilogies every made. So glad you got to see it.
You mean best after the Disney Star Wars trilogy, right? LOL
@@trekkiejunk That sht is so bad... your joke isn't even funny... Disney ruined your joke!

The guy who gives Marty the gun at the Festival is Burton Gillium. He played Lyle in Blazing Saddles.
27:42 Black Liquorice, Mint, Spearmint, Peppermint, Wintergreen, Honey, Laudinum, Clove, Rhubarb, Hayseed, Hempseed, Salt, Cola, Sassafras, Grape, Lemon, Orange, Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Blackberry, Raspberry, Mulberry, Maple Syrup, Molasses, Coffee... and Raw Opium.
When Doc blows the train horn says I wanted to di that all my life, that wasn't scripted, he just did it, that's why Marty has a weird laugh. They just left it in the movie.
Tom Wilson (Biff) is a comedian and has a short song called "The Question Song" answering questions has been asked a million times
I didn't get the "made in Japan" joke as a kid until my dad told me that back in 1950s the things made in Japan were prone to breaking down.
There was a TV show "Green Acres" in the 60's. The guy with the squeaky voice played the character Mr. Haney, who was always ripping off someone from his wagon.
The hat in the beginning that Marty wears is called a Bowler. It has been worn from the 1870's to this day.
“You’re just not thinking fourth dimensionally.” Marty never thinks of the future, and the Doc never accepts the present. After the first reality change Marty and Doc didn’t
Change with it, so Marty wasn’t raised by brave a George like his siblings, which is why his life is all messed up in the new future while his siblings were successful. His overcompensation towards being called a chicken is his overreaction to his fear of being a coward like his old dad. Doc was never going to open up to a woman of his reality, because he doesn’t see reality like anyone he knows. And until Marty believed in his future, and Doc believed in love, they were both going to repeat this reality loop. If you don’t learn from the past and all that.
Interesting fact. In the scene where Marty is running down the street from Mad Dog Tannen before Doc saves him from being hung you can see Michael J Fox oddly limping a little bit. This was apparently the first time (of one of the earliest times) that he noticed symptoms of what would be his future Parkinson's diagnosis.
I think some claim that the hanging triggered an early onset of it. MJF did hang for way longer than intended and legitimately risked his life. Don't know if such a trauma would accelerate such a condition but I don't see it helping.
Yeah, it isn't fair and really sucks when you think about the movie career he could have had, he is such an awesome actor.
I often think about how that news must have hit him and how it hits other people, like it robs them of their future.
He's has done amazingly well with his diagnosis though, the true G.O.A.T
Really? That young... oh my.
According to the internet, Fox didn't start experiencing symptoms until 1991, on the set of Doc Hollywood. I've seen interviews with him, and i've never heard him relay a story about first symptoms starting in 1989 when the BTTF films were made. Do you have a source for the info?
The train tracks at the end are 10 min away from my house in Port Hueneme CA 😃
You want your mind blown, think about how many Deloreons were in Hill Valley on November 5th 1955.
Pretty sure it's 5, if you count the one passing through time from 1885 to 1985 in Eastwood Ravine.
"stunt double Jennifer' had me rolling
Christopher Lloyd is the GOAT. He was Uncle Fester, Doc Brown, Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Professor Plum in Clue.
You forgot the role that made him famous. Reverend Jim on Taxi.
I first saw him in The Pagemaster, as the librarian.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was another great one.
Also _One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest_ (1975).
He also played the Klingon in Star Trek 3 The Search For Spock.
Yes, the dog Einstein is at Docs home in 1985, and the older Doc retrieves him at the end of the movie. They covered everything almost ingeniuously.
"Fireworks?? I didn't know they had fireworks back then!" -- EOM
Yes, fireworks were invented slightly before 1885, back around 200 BC. So, yeah just a little over 2000 years off.
'It was the Great Value Jennifer!' 😂😂
@23:57 watching ZZ Top playing old country music blows my mind after growing up with them in the '80s!!

"One in a googolplex."
A googol is 1,000,000 followed by 1 million zeroes.
A googolplex is a googol to the power of googol.
It hurts to think about it.
I used to think that "The Googleplex' would be a great name for a theater x)
Yep! He was Fester addams and Judge Doom in who framed Rodger Rabbit. If you haven't seen that one, it's list worthy 👍
Mc, or Mac, as part of a surname belongs to Celtic tradition meaning 'son/daughter of', like Charles McDonald means Charles, the son of Donald. As Celtic tradition, it passed into both Irish and Scottish culture, and we, in turn spread it all over the world.
I've seen so many theories, complaints, ideas on how the series could have been better, etc. Some I get, but I would never have wanted anything different, because I've always thought it was damn near perfect.
But...
Your idea about having a third actress play Jennifer is absolutely brilliant. And it would have been a low key joke that would have gotten everybody.
Love your reaction my dude!
It's sadly no longer there, but the Back to the Future ride at Universal Studios was so much fun! It really is hard to pick a favorite of these and yeah, Biff really is underrated. Glad you enjoyed these
I made my family drive 10 hours to Universal Studios from North Carolina so that I could ride that ride in the 90s. It's one of my favorite memories.
I got to ride it in back in the 90s. It was so much fun!
25:54 That's a little Derringer pistol.. Abraham Lincoln was killed with one of those.
I'm so happy JL was pulling for Doc and Clara. Excellent reaction and editing, it's great seeing someone watch such an excellent trilogy for the first time. I've loved these movies since I was a kid and still remember how excited I was to see BttF II in the theatre. God bless you guys with excellence!!
To answer your question (in two parts): A googol is a number: 1 followed by 100 zeroes. A googolplex is a number: 1 followed by a googol zeroes.
This is how the Google search engine got its name. The original programmers were serious nerds. :)
A lot of reactors to this film (and honestly, even Marty) think Jennifer was just "sleeping on the porch" for the entire duration of P2 & P3, but time is relative, so from Jennifer's point of view, she's only been there a few hours.
For Jennifer, she arrived at Marty's Saturday morning just before Doc arrives. When Marty & Doc return to the alternate 1985, night has fallen, so it was Saturday night. There, they leave Jennifer in the swing. In part 3, Marty returns the next morning and wakes her. So technically, Jennifer was in the swing for about 8 hours.
Also, Marty went through all of this, movie 1-3 back to back, they didn't give him a break 😅
@@Tchika Yep. The funny thing is, from Marty's native time, he'd only been gone for about 24 hours.
He meets Doc at Twin Pines mall Friday night, then goes to 1955. He arrives back in 1985 10 minutes before he left, then returns home and sleeps. He wakes the following morning, which is Saturday, October 26th.
Doc arrives from the future, and the trio (Doc, Marty, Jennifer) go to 2015. When they return to 1985, it is Biff's alternate reality and night has fallen (since it was night when they left 2015), so it is now Saturday night, October 26th.
At the end of Part 3, Marty arrives back in 1985 moments *_later_* the same Saturday morning he, Doc, & Jennifer left for 2015, as Biff is still waxing on the Toyota truck, and everyone at Marty's house is still wearing the same clothes they were wearing during the "breakfast scene" at the end of Part 1.
Doc’s hat is a cowboy hat with a flat brim and what was originally a tall open crown that he’s bashed into a Tom Mix style.
Christopher Loyld played Professor Plum in the movie version of the board game Clue(1985). It's a good one if you haven't seen it.
This movie series had a follow up cartoon with the continuing adventures of Doc, Clara, and their family on the time train.
5:38 Doc had (at least) two dogs. 80s dog is Einstein and 50s dog is Copernicus.
31:44 A Googol is a 1 followed by 100 zeroes. A Googolplex is a Googol squared, which has so many zeroes it would require a page slightly larger than the entire Universe to write-out in longhand.
Flea's boys at the end are each from the Tannen's gang. Dude in sunglasses was Match in 1955, the longhair mullet was in 2015, and the blonde next to Flea was in 1855.
Yeah, I figure Marty’s parents are probably 3rd or 2nd cousins, depending on whether Seamus and Maggie had a daughter who married a Baines or if their son did. It’s a small town, so the odds of people being at least distantly related is fairly decent, especially among the families that have been there for a hundred years.
The drink Doc had was probably the earliest formula for Bloody Mary
I remember the Saturday morning cartoon with doc and clairas adventures in the time train raising their two children thru history
And the debut of Bill Nye the Science guy. He did a few live action segments as Doc's assistant when Christopher Lloyd wasn't available
Bonus Fact here : The cop who arrested Buford is in Police Acadamy 1.
I was drinking my beer when you said he looked like a bottle of Pepto-Bismol, thank you for soaking my screen and keyboard XD
I only just noticed that y'all tailor the "First Time Watching" text in each thumbnail to match the movie. That's subtle, but it always looks nice. The attention to detail is one of the innumerable things to love about this channel. I also love Blank's video descriptions, they always get a smile outta me.
That’s all Sean, our graphic artist. He does amazing work every thumbnail.
When you do watch these all again in a row watch for the little changes that may have been missed the first time the mall in the first movie was twin pines mall. Marty goes back and hits one of the trees thus making it lone pine mall when he returns to 1985.
The ravine in part 3 was named after the teacher because she was supposed to go over in her wagon but instead when you see the delorian come back you’ll notice a sign that says “Eastwood Ravine” there’s subtle changes scattered all over the three parts
"You cant time travel and go somewhere else?" -- Technically, you HAVE to go somewhere else to time travel. Nothing in this universe is still. Say you went to the exact same spot, but 6 months ago, you would be floating in space, as the Earth is on the other side of the Sun now.
Y’all left Jennifer on the porch in Detroit!! 💀🤣🤣🤣 Lmao 💪
Christopher Lloyd as an actor was first introduced to me as Judge Doom from the Roger Rabbit film, in the theaters as a very young kid. I saw BTTF a little while after that and at first hard a hard time seeing him as a likeable character just because of his work as Judge Doom lol his fester was great imo though.
These were some of the funniest shut-ups I'm still laughing at hahahaha...That and, why they pour pace picante sauce down his throat". Thanx for the laughs..xx
The car doesn't fly in this movie because the lightning burned the flight circuit.
20:13 And in the last film he wanted to devote himself to study the other great mystery of the universe: women. 😳
Although I know and recognize Part 1 is the perfect movie and it's admired for the perfect script; I think Part 3 has become my favorite over the years.
It's a perfect and heartwarming ending to one of the best trilogies ever made!
Great reaction J!
Dude, you are like Steve Carall's character from Anchor Man where he just randomly blurts out yelling to no one inparticular, 'Loud noises!' every time the soundtrack suddenly cranks up or there is a jump scare in the movie or just an arbitrary goosed up noise of some sort n a scene transition, you jump like you're about to bust out some moves and go full Poppin' Taco in Breakin' 2.
Equally impressive is your clairvoyant-like intuitive instinct and instant reflexive know-how to immediately acknowledge the situation, break the fourth wall of an already broken fourth wall, making it like long division and fractions of fourth wall breaking to pre-emptive snap at us potential hecklers, 'Shut-Up''
Not only are you eerily on point with your Force, Sith-esque ability to anticipate and time this just right, but hilarious. Every. Freakin'. Time.
Just started this.. but BEFORE I forget.. The Muppets.. Please.. 23:44 Many historians believe that fireworks originally were developed in the second century B.C. in ancient Liuyang, China. Legend has it that Captain John Smith set off the first fireworks display in the American colonies in Jamestown, Virginia in 1608. Fireworks were used in the very first 4th of July celebration in 1776.
The intention was just one movie, but all three together became one! 🥰👌🏼✌🏼
One of the best trilogies made, lighthearted, fun, and utterly enjoyable. Biff (Tom Wilson) was a great villain and you need that so the hero can rise. All of the horse riding, gun twirling, and roping, was all him. Quite a talented actor as they all are.
24:30 Love your smile when they start dancing, I feel the same every time 😊
They didn't have starburst candies back then. "A starburst" is a pattern of lines or rays emanating from a single point. Like a burst of light from a star.
The three old-timers in the saloon were played by Western veterans Dub Taylor, Harry Carey, Jr., and Pat Buttram.

Sequels, which Zemeckis did not want to do. The studio told him they wold make them without him if he didn't want to participate, so he agreed, under the condition that no future films beyond Part III could be made without his permission. I don't know if they extend beyond his death, so Zemeckis better live to 120!
Some other movies with Christopher Lloyd are Clue and Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the sitcom Taxi.

One of the biggest plot holes is at the very ending. Just where in the world would Doc build a time traveling train in 1885 without being discovered what he is up to? He'd either do it in Hill Valley and be discovered or way out in a remote region. But where would he get all the materials to do so? Granted people might discover the train but not learn it can travel through time. But still, it's a bit disorienting.
It's a wonderful trilogy; loved them for the past - shit, almost 40 years from the first one!
It was great seeing them again with you watching, and your reactions! 👍
Thanks for watching these! 😃
Irish accent. The scene where the band plays...the musicians there are actually ZZ Top and they are playing one of their hit songs, western style. fun fact the guy in the band that DOESNT have the long beard...his last name is Beard. Go figure. This is a really good movie. watched it dozens of times in the early 90s. Some of the cable channels would run all 3 movies on a Saturday or Sunday. If you havent done them yet the Lethal Weapon films are pretty good...well the first two anyway.
Being a zz top fan I had no idea they were actually in it. Saw the video for doubleback but never but two and two together. And I second the lethal weapon suggestion. And maybe throw national lampoon's loaded weapon in after.
Funny thing about Thomas Wilson (guy who played Biff, Griff, and MadDog), in real life he's actually like the nicest guy in the world...and he's also a stand up comedian.
Spielberg once caught a real shooting star on the film Jaws. After that he almost always cgi them on his films like a signature 💫
Stunt double Jennifer. I'm dead. Hahaha!
The reason we don't see Marshall Strickland arresting Bufford at the end; On their way to find Marty, they are stopped by Strickland. Bufford shoots and kills Strickland. Originally the arrest line was for Strickland's murder. But they didn't want to show anyone actually being murdered in the movie. So they cut the scene and changed the arrest from Strickland's murder to the robbery that they committed the day before.
5:12 Dog was like 'what was that...?' :)
12:01 Yeah :D He has learned of the past.
13:43 Oh, crap... ;) 40:14 Hahaha :)
43:00 I like how this film ends with 'The End' because these movies really were a story in three parts.
20:14 "Hey, Doc got a suicide wish. This the second thing he had done that's suicidal. He wants to drive off the edge hoping we get to 88, and then in the first one he would stand in front of the car hoping that when it hit 88 it went back in time. He didn't know, it was the first test"
There's actually exactly the reason why he did that in the first movie. That was truly was a "Do or Die" moment for Doc Brown. At the beginning of the first movie there are newspaper articles all around Doc Brown's bed mentioning about Doc Brown and on how he has sold his very big and very expensive mansion, along with mentions of his company being almost bankrupt on the television, The school Principal Strickland also tells Marty that he’s your stereotypical mad scientist (also take note that Doc Brown is also basically a hermit and that he has socially isolated himself from almost everybody), and how basically he devoted almost all of his time and resources into building the time traveling Delorean, which at one point even Doc Brown mentions to Marty that building the time machine has taken him almost 30 and his entire family fortune just to finally realize his vision of being able to travel through time to come true, he even stooped down to levels of terrorism and theft just to get the plutonium from the Libyan terrorists required to fulfill his experiment.
I mention all of these facts because one question that may have eluded a lot of people is when the Doc is testing whether or not the Delorean time machine will work with Einstein in the car at the Twin pines mall is “Why is Doc Brown standing in front of the time machine when it is approaching him and accelerated speed during the test run?”. It’s because like I previously mentioned he has sacrificed everything and is deep trouble financially and even criminally to fulfill his vision; and he wants to see for himself in the face of danger, that if all of his struggles and sacrifices have served their purpose and he gets his vision realized with his only friend Marty (hence why he jumps and celebrates in jubilation) and if it didn't work, I’m pretty sure that he would feel that he wouldn’t want to live anymore and the approaching vehicle will run through, kill him and put him out of his misery so he won’t have to live and try to cope with the fact knowing that he sacrificed everything he had for nothing (and he is totally fine with taking his friend Marty with him in death because misery after all loves company which is why he insists that Marty stays in place with him, even though Marty has no idea what the Doc is doing at that very moment) which is kind of screwed when you really think about it.
So you ARE right that that first instance was a potential suicide attempt. I wouldn't really think so for this movie, because I see it more as a work with what you got situation with getting the train to get the Delorean up to 88 mph.
but in the first movie he found out that the time machine worked when marty went back to 1955. so he knew 1000% that it would work.
I love how your expression of disbelief is STFU. Patrons should start a drinking game...drink every time you say "STFU". LOL!!!

They do have whisky & you most certainly can power a car w/whiskey. To power a car, on whiskey the whisky must have an high alcohol content,150-190 proof (75-95% alcohol) Doc who went back in time should know this & know how to make 190 proof (95% alcohol) often called Everclear which would make a fine gasoline.

The Colt salesman that gives Marty the Peacemaker gun-belt is Burton Gilliam, the same character actor who played Hedley Lamarr's underling "Lyle" in _Blazing Saddles_ .
Biff Tannen is indeed the GOAT and so is the actor playing him, Thomas F. Wilson. Tom Wilson has been a mainstay at convention panels & reunion appearances, as well as being a stand-up comedian and all-around Nice Guy.
"Was that a drive by sh!tting?"

LOL. Marty's parents were Second cousins at best. Marty takes after his Great-Great Grandpa and his Mum take after his Great-Great Grandma. When he kissed his Mum in the first movie he was also kissing his second cousin once removed. No wonder his kids were so messed up in the second movie.
"was that a drive-by shitting?"😂😂😂

11:53 Irish. They are unbelievably, over-the-top Irish.
McFly. Seamus and Maggie McFly.
These are Irish names.
The McFlys, including Marty, are Irish.

Great movie. Great trilogy! So glad you enjoyed and thanks as always for the wonderful content!
Doc ridiculous because you can make a whole 5 gallon bucket of ice cream with a hand crank. now, making ice in the desert in 1885 maybe that's hard. anyway i know we voted sci fi but i hope this starts you (J) on some westerns soon. there's a lot of really good ones starting out way in the past like what you are thinking of when you think westerns and then all the way to the present they have kept making good ones. i mean there's a whole list, i already know Blank knows the best ones.
